A calming and soothing Buddhist practice, the source/origin Satipatthana sutta. We begin by observing the breath, experiencing the breath and reflecting on the breath. A beautiful way to come within and ground into peace.

Welcome to the practice of Buddha's breath.

Find a comfortable seat.

Whether you sit on the floor,

In a chair,

On the end of your bed,

Ensure your comfort.

By observing this,

It will free you from distraction.

Begin by observing the breath.

Notice that the breath is occurring.

Notice that inhaling and exhaling are occurring.

Which breath is longer,

The inhale or the exhale?

Keep observing the inhale and the exhale.

Noting the space between the exhale and the inhale.

Continue noting the space.

Noting the space between the exhale and the inhale.

Continue noting the space.

Experience the fullness of the breath,

The inhale,

The space,

The exhale,

The space.

A full cycle of breath.

Experience the breath in the whole body.

And you inhale next,

Repeating silently to yourself,

I inhale calm.

I inhale calm.

As you exhale next,

Repeat silently,

I exhale calm.

I exhale calm.

Breathing calm through your whole body.

Your whole body calm.

Coming back to your normal,

Natural breath.

Take a moment to become aware of the sounds around you.

Add some gentle movement to your fingers and toes.

And in your own time.

Slowly blinking open your eyes.

Thank you for sharing this practice with me.

Namaste.

feeling a deep sense of calm and subtle energy flow through my fingertips. in the midst of practicing, I was distracted a few sounds around me, but silence quickly settled me back in; it was as if the universe itself showed me that I am in control of my environment, so long as I focus and aim my attention into the present. grateful for this practice 😌🙏🏾
