Inspired by the words of Pope Francis who died earlier in the year (21 April 2025). He wrote a piece whilst he was in hospital. This short meditation is inspired by the words the Pope wrote. Hope it allows you to slow down, enjoy the moments of now, and saviour life and not hold off on doing something till its the 'perfect time'. Please leave comments and/star rate the meditations. It helps me to better myself.

Hello everyone,

My name is Chatna.

Thank you for joining me today on this new meditation.

As most of you may know if you follow me or have listened to any of my previous meditations,

My meditations I write are normally inspired by things I read or notice in my daily life.

So today's meditation was inspired by Pope Francis's words that he wrote in in hospital when he was ill and unfortunately obviously he died on the 21st of April this year 2025.

So taking inspiration from the words he wrote he said the walls of the hospitals have heard more honest prayers than churches.

They have witnessed far more sincere kisses than those in the airport.

And a privileged doctor saving the life of a beggar,

A police officer and a prisoner in the same room receiving the same care.

And then a wealthy patient waiting for a liver transplant ready to receive the organ from a poor donor.

He wrote that it is in these communion of destinies that we realize that alone we are nothing.

So with that and inspired by the rest of the words that he wrote,

Uh the the meditation for this uh is called What is the Rush?

Begin to settle.

Feel comfortable.

Soften your shoulders.

Soften your gaze.

And slowly come to your breath as you breathe in and out.

Feel your belly rise.

And feel the softness of your belly deflate as you exhale.

As you stay.

Where do you think you need to be?

If you're sitting on a chair or laying down,

Just feel the support your body is provided.

Can you let the heaviness of your body fall into the earth?

Allowing the muscles to relax.

The tension,

The tightness,

Slowly peeling away.

Letting your breath slow down,

Fall into its natural rhythm.

You ask yourself,

What is the rush?

Where am I going?

Where do I want to be going?

As you step into your car,

You put your foot on the accelerator.

0 to 60 in 3.

5 seconds,

You were told.

Why was it important?

You take a slow breath in.

And realize that it is the journey that is important.

The moment you're in.

Savoring your surroundings.

Feeling the sensations running through your body.

Letting your senses be alive.

You want to feel all the emotions.

You want to feel the connection.

You want to share the moments.

You step out of the car.

You walk.

You do know life will pass quickly.

So why waste it?

You decide to not waste it fighting with people.

You decide to not criticize your body too much.

You decide to not complain excessively.

You decide to not lose sleep over bills.

You decide not to worry about keeping the house spotless.

You decide to not be afraid.

You decide not to accumulate excessive material goods.

You decide not to wait too much for Christmas,

For Fridays,

For next year,

For when you have money.

For when love arrives.

For when everything is perfect.

Perfection does not exist.

We,

You,

Are given the opportunity to learn.

To make the most of this trial of life.

And do it now.

You decide to respect yourself.

To respect others.

You decide to walk your own path and let go of the path others have chosen for you.

You love more.

Forgive more.

Embrace more.

Live more intensely.

And know what it means to live.

You slow it down.

You breathe in.

You breathe out.

Where is the rush?

You slow it down.

What great reminders about what I really want my life to be about! And how though life is short, rushing isn't the answer! Thank you!
