Hello,

Everyday warriors.

I'm Joel English from Yin Yang Method.

Welcome to another Qigong meditation session.

Today,

We're going to use light to develop insight.

The colored light meditation.

Each color that we choose today will correspond with one of our internal organs.

This will help us get better in touch with our internal systems,

A better mind and body connection,

And will help us to focus deeply as we balance the organs chi and create inner harmony.

I want you to begin by finding a place to comfortably sit,

Spine erect.

You can also lie down,

Placing the bottom of your feet flat on the ground or a pillow or rolled up towel underneath the knees to make it as comfortable as possible.

It's also possible to do this meditation standing,

Although I would advise only do this if you've had some previous practice with standing meditation.

Begin by taking some controlled natural breaths in through the nose,

Out through the nose,

Just finding your natural rhythm,

Not trying to force anything,

Not trying to breathe too deeply or exhale too sharply,

Just allowing yourself to fall into a gentle breathing cadence.

You can slowly allow your eyelids to gently drop either to about 90% closed where you can still see a bit of natural light and movement,

Or you can close them fully,

But keeping the eyelids gentle,

Not squeezing tight.

Relax all the muscles in the body,

Particularly thinking about relaxing the shoulders,

The neck,

The jaw,

The head,

Allow everything to soften.

First,

I want you to think about the five elements and the organs they relate to and how this is a continuous cycle.

The metal represented by our lungs will become molten,

Creating the water represented by the kidneys.

Kidney water grows into wood represented by the liver.

The wood creates the fire,

The fire being our heart burning bright.

Fire creates the ashes,

Which is representing the earth,

Our spleen.

And from the earth,

We are able to dig the metals,

Thus returning to the beginning of the cycle.

So bring your mind to the lungs,

To the metal.

And as you inhale through the nose,

Draw white light into the lungs.

And as you exhale,

Allow dark light to leave,

Retaining the white light in the lungs.

Breathing in through the nose,

Inhaling,

Breathing out,

Pushing out any dark air,

Dark light.

Breathing in through the nose,

That white light adding to what's already been retained.

Breathing out the darkness.

Breathing in white light,

Filling the lungs.

Breathing out any dark toxins from within the system.

Breathing in,

Nice deep controlled breath as white light fills your lungs.

Exhaling any dark light.

Continue to breathe slow focused breaths as we move onto the kidneys.

This time as you inhale deep,

Dark,

Ocean blue,

Almost an inky black pulling into the kidneys.

And as you exhale,

Imagine dull grayish black toxins leaving.

Inhale that shimmering gemstone like inky black,

Dark blue color.

Exhale,

Gray stagnant toxins.

Inhale through the nose,

Slow controlled but deep,

Filling the abdomen.

Exhale,

Clearing the kidneys,

Allowing them to glow brightly inside you.

Inhale,

Drawing in that energy,

Filling the kidneys,

Invigorating them.

Exhale any toxins,

Inhale into the kidneys,

Filling them with light.

And as you exhale the toxins,

Imagine the kidney glowing like a shining gem.

Continue breathing as we move to the liver.

This time as we breathe in I want you to imagine a green rich like a forest.

And as we breathe out,

Allow the dark dampness of a forest to be released.

Breathing in,

A flourishing green,

Plants in bloom.

Breathing out,

That darkness,

That stagnant.

Breathing in,

Green rich spring leaves.

Breathing out,

Ridding yourself of the unneeded chi.

Breathing in,

Green light,

Filling the liver,

All the way up.

Breathe out,

Expelling the darkness.

Breathe in,

And now the liver is filled with green light and is shining brightly like an emerald.

Breathe out,

Darkness is leaving.

Continue to breathe,

Slow,

Fine,

Controlled breaths.

The body really starting to shine now as we move our attention deep into the heart.

Breathe healing,

Red light into the heart.

Breathe out,

The sick or diseased chi that we don't need,

Expelling it.

Breathe in a fiery red light.

Breathe out any darkness.

Breathe in,

Drawing that red light into the heart,

Filling it all the way up.

As you breathe out,

Darkness leaves while the red starts to circulate the body.

Breathing in,

The heart is starting to glow like a vibrant ruby.

Breathing out,

Expelling the dark chi.

Breathing in,

The heart is now nothing but a vibrant,

Glowing,

Beautiful red as you breathe out and expel the last of any darkness from your heart.

Keep breathing,

Really in touch with the organs,

Deep inside yourself,

Seeing the colors that we've created,

The whites of the lungs,

The rich dark blue in the kidney,

The vibrant natural greens of the liver,

The glowing fiery red in the heart.

And take your mind to the spleen.

Inhaling a rich,

Sun-like yellow light into the spleen,

Filling it up,

And exhaling poisons.

Breathing in,

The yellow color filling,

Clearing the spleen,

Breathing out darkness,

A sludgy thick darkness.

Breathing in,

The yellow becoming vibrant,

Almost clearer in its yellow.

And breathing out,

Softly squeezing out the unnecessary and stagnant chi.

Breathing in,

The spleen now vibrant,

Shining like a topaz,

And breathing out any unnecessary darkness.

Deep,

Slow breath in of yellow light,

Filling the spleen fully now,

And breathing out all the remaining darkness.

Continue to breathe controlled,

Slow,

Soft,

Fine,

Gentle breaths.

And now look deeply into the body.

As you relax,

Breathe,

Go over the internal organs and see them glowing.

They are vibrant,

Glowing gems,

Each one working at full capacity and in a wonderful balanced harmony.

See if you can try to hold the image of each organ individually,

And then start to picture them all simultaneously.

The white pearly lungs,

The kidneys like blue sapphire,

The liver green emerald,

The red ruby heart,

And the yellow topaz spleen.

And try to hold on to this image as best as you can while you continue to breathe softly,

Slowly,

But in a relaxed and natural fashion.

I'm going to leave you here today.

If you've tapped into that visualization of the vibrant gem-like organs,

Then feel free to stay and enjoy that moment for as long as you can.

Otherwise,

As you finish up,

Do so with some awareness.

How are the internal organs feeling?

Are they different?

Are you more conscious of them?

How alive do you feel now,

Now that you've gained some connection with the cycle of the elements and your organs all within you?
