So often we know that we're feeling some discomfort,
We want to say something,
But we don't necessarily have the words to say.
That energy of wanting to say something but not knowing what to say,
It stays within us.
And in this meditation,
We're going to give ourselves an outlet to saying some things that affirm the power of using our voice and activating our throat chakra and giving ourselves the freedom to practice speaking our truth.
I want you to get comfortable.
You can also be walking.
Just put your headphones in,
Act like you're on a phone call.
And I want you to repeat after me.
Feel free to pause after you say something.
If there's something that comes up within you,
If you want to journal something down,
Feel free to give yourself the space.
Say it with me.
When I use my voice,
I stand in my power.
Say it with me.
When I speak my truth,
I'm on my side.
Say it with me.
Anytime I dim my light or play small,
I turn my back on my truth.
Say it with me.
I teach others how to treat me by reminding myself how to treat me.
Say it with me.
I believe in the power of advocating for myself.
People don't always know what I need,
And it's my job to tell them.
Say it with me.
I have a right to speak my truth.
Say it with me.
I don't have to be mean to be clear,
To tell people what I need,
And to get support.
Say it with me.
People want to show up for me.
It's my job to allow them to.
Say it with me.
I am at my most powerful when I allow myself to speak my truth.
Say it with me.
I don't have to have the right words.
I just have to feel free to say what I need.
Say it with me.
I'm willing to be the only one on my side if it means standing in my truth.
Say it with me.
Speaking my truth doesn't mean harming others.
I am in control of what I say,
And I can say it without causing harm.
Say it with me.
Tough conversations don't always bring out the best in everyone,
But I have what it takes to get through them.
They're worth it.
Say it with me.
People want to know how I feel.
It's up to me to share honestly.
We just did about five minutes of affirmation,
And some of these mantras or beliefs may be things that you've never given yourself space to feel before.
I'd like you to take a few minutes to just breathe these in,
Taking note of anything that came up in your body or anything that came up within you as you said them out loud.
Was there any part of you that thought,
I don't know if I believe this?
Was there any part of you that thought,
Is this selfish?
Was there any part of you that wants to further explore what this means to you,
Or perhaps you want to change it or shift it to better meet your needs?
These templates are created for you to have the language to be able to give yourself the words to say,
But if it doesn't fit,
You're free to change that language to what you need it to be.
Let's do one more round of affirmations.
Say it with me.
My life is better when I stand in my truth.
Say it with me.
The people who love me,
See me,
And respect me are interested in hearing what I need and how they can show up for me.
Say it with me.
When I honor my needs,
I break generational curses.
Say it with me.
The more that I lean into using my voice,
The least discomfort,
Resentment,
And overwhelm I'll carry around thinking that no one hears me or understands me.
Say it with me.
There will be times when I use my voice and I'm still not understood.
In those times,
I still matter.
This meditation is the perfect meditation to play,
Maybe before a tough conversation,
Maybe after a tough conversation,
As a reminder that despite all of the things that come up in those tough communications,
You still matter.
Your voice still matters.
You can do the tough things.
Thank you so much for listening.
I'll see you in the next meditation.
