This meditation is an invitation into releasing the negative self-talk that tells you that because you've decided to change your goals or your intentions,
Or because something that you were really excited about at one point is no longer working,
That you're failing.
Because that internal chatter keeps us from setting goals in the future.
It keeps us from going after what we want in life.
And it keeps us small.
And it is not true.
We are allowed to change.
We are allowed to fail.
We are allowed to have human experiences that aren't always winning.
And I know winning feels great.
But we have to be able to cope with the idea that there will be disappointment sometimes so that we can keep going.
Let's release that negative energy.
Let's release the parts of us that wanna hold on to that story.
And let's choose something different.
Closing your eyes,
I'd like for you to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth or in through your nose,
Out through your nose.
Just your normal rhythm of breath.
Feeling if there's any tension in just your normal breathing.
Feeling if there's any anxiety,
Any fear.
Becoming aware if there's anything particular on your mind.
When I shared what this meditation is about,
Sometimes things come right to mind.
Noticing if right now it just feels easeful.
And then we're gonna breathe for four.
Breathe in deeply for four,
Hold for eight.
And then breathe out slowly for eight,
Really calming our nervous system.
And when you're breathing in,
I want you to imagine that you are giving yourself the opportunity to breathe in a new intention,
A new goal,
A new resolution.
Breathing it in,
Holding it in,
And then releasing any negativity attached to it.
So breathing in through your nose for four,
Holding for eight,
Slowly releasing for eight.
Noticing if there's any instant change just from that.
Breathing in through your nose for four,
Holding for eight,
And breathing out through your mouth slowly for eight.
One more time,
Breathing in through your nose for four,
Holding for eight,
And breathing out through your mouth for eight.
Resuming your normal breath,
Feeling if there's any difference in your energy.
Reminding yourself of the power we have to shift our energy,
To shift our attention,
To release what is no longer fueling or filling us.
And coming back to our breath,
Breathing in through the nose for four,
Holding for four,
And breathing out through the mouth for eight.
Noticing if there's any different from the first breath that we did.
Breathing in through the nose for four,
Holding for four,
And breathing out through the mouth for eight.
Feeling your shoulders drop,
Breathing in through the nose for four,
Breathing in your intention,
Holding for four,
Holding that positive intention in your energy,
And then breathing out for eight,
Releasing any negativity,
Anything that is no longer serving you.
Again,
Breathing in through the nose for four,
Holding for four,
And breathing out through the mouth for eight.
Resuming your normal breath,
Paying attention to if there are any differences.
And the importance of this is really so that you know what helps to calm your nervous system so that when tension comes up,
When anxiety comes up,
You have a breath work that you can turn to in a bathroom stall,
In a meeting,
In the car,
No matter where you are,
Being able to access your breath and calm your system.
Reminding yourself in this moment as you breathe in that you are not failing.
As you breathe out,
That you are learning and growing and changing your mind and doing new things.
As you breathe in,
That you are allowed to make new decisions and make new choices.
As you breathe in,
That you are allowed to make new decisions anytime that your body,
That your mind,
That you feel ready to pivot,
You can.
Breathing in the feeling of empowerment.
Breathing in the feeling of choice.
Breathing out the feeling of failure.
Breathing out the feeling of all of the weight of society telling us what we should or should not be doing.
Taking one last big,
Deep breath in.
Blowing it out,
Allowing it to cleanse anything that's remaining and opening your eyes.
Thank you so much for listening to this meditation.
I want you to revisit this meditation as many times as you need to if you feel like you are failing,
If you feel like you are failing and you feel like you are failing if you feel like you made a mistake at work or if something happened with a friend,
Come back to this,
Remind yourself.
You can release that energy.
You can choose a different story.
Thank you so much again.
I'll see you in the next meditation.
