We are starting as usual with a short ceremony.
So let's sit comfortably on our seat.
And take a deep breath in,
Breathe out.
Let's close our eyes and take another deep breath in,
And breathe out.
And the next breath in we keep in,
We don't breathe out.
And slowly breathe out and let go.
Let go of all your efforts.
Let go of everything that already happened in the past.
Let go of everything that may happen in the future.
And allow your breath to guide you back to the present moment where life actually happens.
So you become fully aware of whatever is happening right now.
Become aware of your surroundings and all the information gathered from your surroundings.
Sounds,
Noises,
The feel of the air on your skin,
Your breath as it sucks air out of your environment and into your body through the nostrils.
And then in the opposite way as the air is sucked out of your lung and back out of your body to your surroundings.
Just observe as this process happens in its own natural rhythm.
The breath may be heavy or light,
May be hot or cold.
It doesn't matter,
You just observe.
The breath gently is ironing your consciousness.
Become aware of any thought you may be thinking right now.
Whatever it is,
Just observe as if you're lying on the grass and watching the skies as the clouds go by without getting carried away by any specific thought.
You just observe.
Become aware of any phenomena that happens around you and within you.
May it be pleasant or unpleasant.
It doesn't matter.
And as those events keep on happening,
Gently allow your attention to turn away from them and face itself,
The origin of consciousness.
That space within that exists before and beyond any event where there is no movement.
There is only silence.
And for a moment,
Become that silence.
Deep breath in.
Gently allow your attention to come back to your body that is seated here upon its seat in this room.
A part of our virtual circle.

What I observe about myself is that I often do not know what is my genuine motivation.
Example,
It is often to feel good about myself rather than love.
What is your true motivation?
This is following our conversation from Tuesday.
My motivation is to feel good about myself.
That is not a problem.
If you feel good about yourself,
That is good.
Better than to feel bad about yourself.
Be good.
You don't need to feel good.
You be good.
Feeling,

If we keep chasing the experience of feeling good,
We are trapped.
It is not the feeling that hides the secret.
It is not the emotions or the sensations that hide the secrets.
An awakened consciousness is not chasing an experience.
Not even blissful or,
You know,
Whatever you can think of.
The highest and most precious experience,
Because the secret is not in the experience.
There was a beloved disciple that once came to me and asked me about a silence retreat that was up and coming.
And she said,
You know,
I have been to those silence retreats with you many times,
And I think I have already experienced everything I can in those silence retreats.
So what is the point in coming again?
So I told her,
You know,
The secret is not in the experience.
The first time you experience it,
It is like,
Wow,
Fantastic,
I never even knew that this is possible.
And then the second time you feel great.
And the third time,
Okay.
And the fourth time is okay.
Anything else?
Been there,
Done that.
Got the T-shirt.
Isn't it so?
Doesn't matter how amazing the experience is.
It becomes dull.
Right?
It is not about the experience.
Don't chase an experience.
You know,
Many years ago you sat for meditation,
And you felt so blissful,
Like there was no I,
And it was so fantastic,
You are one with nature.
Or,
I don't know,
Buddha came and talked to you and initiated you personally.
And since then it never happened again.
And you sit for meditation for 20 years,
Hoping,
Waiting for that to return,
And it doesn't.
What to do?
You are trapped.
It is not about the experience.
It is about recognizing that you are allowing reality to be experienced.
And the actual play that is currently being played on the stage,
It is okay,
Whatever.
Sometimes the play is interesting,
Sometimes the play is dull,
Sometimes it is pleasant,
Sometimes it is threatening.
Whatever.
Comedy,
Tragedy,
It doesn't matter.
You are the theater hall,
Allowing that play to happen.
That's it.
And then there is no agenda anymore.
So don't worry about trying to feel good about yourself.
You be good.

How he treats me,
Is the thing that is taking most of my energy and thoughts.
How somebody is treating you.
Why does it take your energy,
Do you know?
How can somebody else take your energy?
How is that possible?
Is it possible for somebody else to take your energy,
To be able to control that?
The only time you feel drained is because of your own split consciousness.
What is split consciousness?
You experience one thing,
But believing that you should have experienced another thing.
You do one thing,
But you believe that you should have done something else.
That this is not right,
Or not important,
And something else is waiting for you to experience.
And only then you can be happy.
That's never the case.
If you feel drained,
No.
There is split consciousness in you.
Nothing to do with your other person,
You know?
Your beloved one,
Or your enemy.
Doesn't matter.
If you feel drained,
Look for those gaps in your own consciousness,
In the way you allow yourself to experience life.
If you believe something else should have happened,
That's it,
You're trapped.
You're frustrated,
You're angry,
Disappointed,
Resentful,
Judgmental,
Etc.
Then it's draining for sure.
Nothing that actually happens can cause you to feel drained.
Even if it's very intensive,
You know,
Sometimes reality is really intense.
Still,
You can easily face that and experience that.
Unless you are resenting that,
Rejecting that,
Fighting against that.
Then you suffer,
For sure.
So stop blaming other people for your exhaustion.
People always behave the best they can.
They cannot behave any better than what they are actually behaving,
As they are behaving right now.
Even if it seems very strange,
Or very aggressive,
You know?
That's because that's the best they know how to do,
How to react at a given time.
So if you feel there is anger,
Or disrespect,
Or whatever,
From the other person,
Just know that they are currently suffering.
They are angry,
They are resentful,
They are stressed,
They feel suffering.
So,
Compassion.
Add compassion.
When you see suffering,
What do you do?
You add compassion.
And remember,
There is nothing that life can offer that is too much beyond your capabilities to handle,
To experience.
It's never the case.
So fill it with compassion.
Fill it with unconditional love.
You will see that the drama between people requires both parties to put some gasoline on the fire.
If only one party tries to lit up the fire,
It doesn't catch.
If the other person is completely centered,
Un-intimidated,
Then drama cannot stick.
It just slides off you like Teflon.
It cannot stick.
Try it in your life and see.
Be completely centered and compassionate.
And tell me how it felt.
Just take some attention and also some training.
You need to train yourself.
You need to practice.
Do your sadhana.
Meditate.
Find that center within you so you can come back to your center again and again.
Nothing would be able to shake you anymore.
You would be as steady as a mountain.
For example,
I help my neighbor because I think I care about her,
But it feels good to be helpful.
So what is my motivation?
You tell me.
If you need that confirmation from your neighbor,
If there is a need there to feel good,
So you are motivated by lack,
Lack of appreciation,
Lack of need,
Of being confirmed and affirmed,
There is that lack that drives you to interact,
Then you know that you are still driven by the ego.
But if you are an expression of love,
Then there is no lack.
The opposite is there is only abundance that is being expressed through you.
And then you help or you support,
You share that love,
You fill your surroundings with compassion.
It is not even your nature,
It is the nature of love that is currently expressed through you.
There is nothing personal about it at all.
You just become hollow like a bamboo and allow that music to be played through you.
Hmm?
Hmm.
See this thing,
Not finding a direction.
Flow through connection.
Question mark.
Flow through connection.
You don't find a direction.
Let me suggest a direction for you.
Set up a goal.
I want to be an expression of unconditional love.
That's it.
I want to turn into an expression of unconditional love.
This is a direction.
Worthwhile.
Committing to.

If you are really committed to it,
There is a lot of knowledge and practices that you can practice to get you closer and closer to that goal.
And you can harness that ability of the ego to stay very focused.
I want that.
I don't want anything else.
This is the most important thing for me.
And then you will come closer and closer to that,

If it becomes the most important thing for you,
You will come very close to pure expression of unconditional love.
And every time life tries to distract you from this path,
You keep reminding yourself through sadhana,
Through the practice.

I don't want to be carried back into the drama,
Into self-pity.
I don't want to be carried back to complaining,
Excusing myself.

This is what I want.
I want to be an expression of unconditional love.

This is who I am.

Let go of the idea that reality is confused and you are right.
This is never the case.
You are confused.
Reality cannot be confused.
Reality can only happen in divine accuracy.
Whether you like it or not,
Realize that.
Let go of conflicting ideas if you really want to stop suffering.
Because there are many ways to keep suffering.
It's so comforting to victimize yourself and blame the situation.
I would be happy if he would realize,
If he would change.
I would be happy,
Definitely.
Why not?
He steals that away from me.
That's not the case.
Never the case.
Wake up.
Realize that.

It's pointless.
Thoughts have no power.
These are just events that happen around you.
Some of those thoughts are yours.
Some of those thoughts are other people's thoughts.
They just pass through you.
You'll be like the radio.
Collecting information from the environment.
Radio waves.
The radio doesn't care which station is currently being played.
And if the music is happy or sad.
Your mind is the same.
You just be there.
Allow those thoughts to come and go.
They have no power.
If you don't believe your thoughts,
You are relieved of them.
They don't need to stop or to change.
It's you.
You.
You are peace.
Your thoughts don't have to be peaceful.
You are peace.
Don't worry about trying to manipulate thoughts.
That's anyway impossible.
Sit there in meditation.
Realize.
I am not my thoughts.
You know there is a specific meditation I can recommend you to practice.
It's called I am not my mind.
Me and my mind.

This will help you to realize the difference between the experience and the experiencer.

So unveil those opinions and ideas.
And then you'll find divinity.
Divinity is much more deep and real than your opinions and thoughts.
You go beyond your opinions and thoughts.
Go deeper and you'll find divinity there.

If you have a heartbreak,
Somebody left you for,

And it's so painful when you feel sad,
Then what to do?
You allow yourself to experience that sadness.

If you keep avoiding sadness,

What you resist,

You experience it.

Feelings are just an external event that happens.
It's not who you are.
