This is a six minute meditation for mums.

Phone free,

Waking up,

Six minutes of me time before the day begins.

Stick your headphones on silent,

Lie in the bed in the most comfortable position you can find.

The meditation is all about comfort,

Not about posture.

We're going to start with three deep breaths.

Take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in through your nose,

Filling up your belly.

Hold it for a moment and then release slowly through your mouth,

Making a little whooshing sound.

Let's do that again.

Long,

Slow,

Deep breath in through the nose.

And again.

Notice how you're feeling.

Your brain should be calming,

Your body should be feeling a little more relaxed.

Deep,

Slow breathing signals to the nervous system to move it into a relaxed,

Calm state.

I want you to think of three things that you're grateful for right now.

This could be anything.

How comfortable your pillow is,

How much you love the person closest to you,

That the sun is shining,

That the rain is falling,

That the moon is glowing.

Anything at all.

Just pick three things that you're grateful for.

Now I want you to try and hold these three things in your head through this process.

Lots of other thoughts will come into your head.

What's going to happen during the day,

What you need to do.

These other thoughts will try and crowd into the space.

Just try to let them go.

View them as a cloud passing by as the thought comes into your head.

Just let it go and return to the things that you're grateful for.

Notice how you feel,

How the sheets feel against your skin,

How the comfortable mattress underneath you feels against your body.

Take the time to really enjoy the feeling.

Now I want you to take another three long,

Slow,

Deep breaths.

And again,

A long,

Slow,

Deep breath in.

And again,

A long,

Slow,

Deep breath in.

When you get up after the meditation,

Let's leave the social media and the emails for at least an hour.

Allow your brain to wake and be the best that it can possibly be.

Drink some water and get out there and go and be the calm and beautiful soul that you truly are.
