In this practice, you'll be guided to notice what it feels like in your body when you are comfortable and relaxed. You'll bring to mind a picture, from your memory or your imagination, that helps you to feel really calm and at ease. This feeling is your inner glow. You can come back to this feeling anytime; it's yours. I'll invite you to bring that feeling with you through a body scan, noticing sensations in your body. The meditation ends by shining your inner glow in all directions and resting back into the feeling of just being. Image Credit: Tany Gust

This practice is all about tapping into your inner glow.

Find a spot where you can rest for a while,

Taking some time to get comfortable,

Snuggling in to the spot that you've chosen.

If you want,

You can close your eyes or leave them open.

As you rest here,

Notice sounds around you.

Sounds coming and going.

And see if you can feel all the places your body is touching down.

Feel yourself resting into whatever surface is beneath you.

And then see if you can remember a place or you can imagine one that when you think of it,

You feel really good inside.

You feel safe and happy,

Really comfortable and at ease.

It might be a special place in nature,

Maybe near trees or water,

Or it might be a place where you love to play with your friends.

It could be a place you spend time with your family or a pet.

Whatever this place is,

Imagine that you're there right now,

Picturing yourself there in your imagination.

Notice what you see.

Are there people or animals there?

What sounds do you hear?

Is there a scent in the air?

Let your whole body feel what it's like to be in that place.

What feelings do you notice in your body?

Maybe it feels warm and cozy.

It might feel still or kind of tingly.

The feeling might be in your whole body or in one spot.

What's this feeling like for you?

I call that feeling my inner glow.

You can call it whatever you like.

You could call it your peaceful place or your home base.

Anytime you like,

You can call up this image in your imagination and remember how it feels to be in this place.

You can return to this feeling again and again.

It's yours.

If you want,

You can bring this glow,

This peacefulness with you as you begin to notice sensations in your body,

Just exploring feelings that are here.

Whatever you feel is okay.

You might start by noticing feelings in your mouth,

Feelings in your tongue,

The tip of your tongue and the back of your tongue,

Your ears,

Feelings of your inner ears and your outer ears.

Notice feelings in your nose,

The touch of air as it moves through your nostrils and your eyes,

Both eyes soft and resting,

Your whole face,

Forehead and the top of your head,

The backside of your head,

Sensing your whole head as one feeling,

Your neck inside and out,

Your shoulders and your arms,

Both hands,

Fingers and thumbs,

Your chest and your ribs,

Upper back and lower back,

Your belly,

Feel the whole trunk of your body and your hips,

Both legs,

Knees,

Feet and all your toes,

Feel your whole body all at once,

Feeling your entire body and how the breath is here too,

Flowing all along,

Breath flowing in,

Breath flowing out,

All on its own.

You can say hello to your breath anytime you like as a way to calm your body and your mind,

Feeling what it's like to say hello to all the parts of you and your inner glow,

That feeling in your body of being safe and peaceful,

Feeling relaxed and happy.

Let that inner glow shine through your whole body and into the space around your body,

Shining out in front,

Back behind,

Out to the sides,

Above and below,

Resting or sleeping here as long as you like,

Nothing you need to do,

Just being here,

Closing this practice with a round of breath together.

Breathing in and breathing out.
