Life is constantly pulling us in different directions. There are so many things in our society that can distract us and disconnect us from our center, truth, and peace. This somatic meditation is here to gently guide you back into your center. This practice can be helpful before a challenging conversation, at the end of a long week, or can maybe just be a pocket of peace you create for yourself in your busy day.

Hello and welcome to this week's meditation.

This week we'll be meditating on finding our center.

This is a great practice you can come to anytime before you are maybe about to have a hard conversation.

Maybe anytime you feel like your energy or your thoughts are pulling you in different directions or maybe just a time when you need to feel a little bit more centered and connected.

And so as you feel ready,

I'll invite you to find a comfortable position to meditate in today.

Maybe that's seated,

Maybe that's lying down,

Or perhaps you might like to do this meditation standing.

Whatever comfortable position you decide on,

I'll invite you to start to allow yourself to settle into that position now.

Noticing the parts of the body that are making contact with you.

Noticing the parts of the body that are making contact with the physical support underneath you.

And right away in these first few moments,

Seeing if you can allow yourself to soften and relax into the physical support underneath you.

And then as you feel ready,

Slowly starting to bring your awareness to your breath,

Watching it flow in and flow out.

Noticing the belly rise and expand as you breathe out.

Noticing the belly collapse as you breathe out.

And perhaps we can take a few cleansing breaths here together.

And we'll do that by taking a big breath in through the nose.

And then an audible release out of the mouth.

Another breath in through the nose.

Audible release out through the mouth.

And one more breath in through the nose.

And one more breath in through the nose.

Audible release out through the mouth.

Allowing yourself to settle.

And then if it feels okay for you,

I'll invite you to bring your palms to touch with your hands at your heart.

Maybe pressing the hands together firmly.

Maybe so firmly that there's very little or no space in between your hands and your fingers.

Noticing what that feels like.

And then as you feel ready,

Slowly releasing any pressure you might be putting.

And as you gently release that pressure,

Maybe allowing just the slightest amount of space to open up in between your hands.

And then bringing your awareness there.

Bringing your awareness to that tiny bit of space in between the center of your palm.

And then as you feel ready,

Expanding your awareness perhaps.

To the entire center line of your body.

Maybe even seeing a line start from above the head.

And slowly work its way down the center of the face.

Down the center of the neck.

Down through the center of the heart.

All the way down through the center of the torso.

The low back and the pelvis.

And all the way down to the earth or to the floor.

And then bringing your awareness to this line.

This line created down the center of your body.

And bringing all of your awareness and all of your focus here.

Back to your center.

And noticing what the experience of being in your center is like.

Are there any sensations that you might sense from being nestled in this space?

Or are there any sensations that you might sense from being nestled in this space?

Or are there any sensations that you might sense from being nestled in this space?

Or are there any sensations that you might sense from being nestled in this space?

Or are there any sensations that you might sense from being nestled in this space?

Perhaps your center has a certain color or a certain texture.

Taking a few deep breaths into the center of yourself.

Allowing these sensations to integrate into the body and into the nervous system.

Seeing if you can stay here in your center for just a few more moments.

Maybe taking a mental or energetic or physical picture.

So that after your practice today,

When you go back into your world,

Back into your life,

You can remember this feeling,

This sensation,

This experience of being.

And if you haven't yet,

Maybe slowly releasing the hands.

Placing them back down into your lap.

Or maybe on your belly.

Or anywhere that feels comfortable and right for you.

And taking another big breath in through the nose.

And taking another big breath in through the nose.

And taking another big breath in through the nose.

And taking another big breath in through the nose.

And taking another big breath in through the nose.

And taking another big breath in through the nose.

And taking another big breath in through the nose.

And taking another big breath in through the nose.
