Somatic Meditation For Feeling More Confident
This somatic meditation on celebrating yourself is great during the full moon, but feel free to use it whenever you need a confidence boost or want to foster more self-trust. We often fixate on our perceived shortcomings and what needs fixing. Rather than that, take a moment to celebrate your achievements. In trauma recovery, this process is known as "expanding your resources" and is crucial for your overall well-being.

Hello and welcome to your meditation on celebration.
We are meditating on celebrating today because I have found it incredibly important in the work that I do both for myself and with my clients that taking time to celebrate our progress,
Taking time to celebrate our growth is essential on our journey.
More often than not we are looking at the things that aren't working,
Focusing on the things we want to release,
Focusing on the things that we want to quote-unquote fix about ourselves.
However,
Taking time to really honor ourselves and to honor our growth and to honor what is working can sometimes be more supportive for us,
Especially in the long run,
Especially if we're committed to this spiritual growth journey,
To this healing journey,
To this wellness journey for any amount of extended time.
Cultivating these strengths and cultivating these resources that give us the confidence and the self-trust to keep moving forward are so important and so that's why we're meditating on celebrating today.
So as you feel ready I invite you to find a comfortable position to meditate in,
Whether that's seated or lying down on your back or again maybe you're more of a mover while you're meditating and if you'd like to take this meditation on a walk you're absolutely welcome to do so.
Before we get started,
As we are reflecting and meditating on celebrating ourselves,
I want to acknowledge that sometimes these parts come up,
These parts that maybe aren't so quick to celebrate.
These parts that are maybe quicker to judge and criticize and as we're reflecting on the things that are going well and reflecting on the things that we want to celebrate ourselves,
Sometimes these parts can get a little loud and I want you to know that those parts are absolutely welcome into this meditation as well and so if you do find that some resistance comes up during this meditation to this idea of celebrating yourself,
I invite you to get curious about that resistance and to maybe not feel the need to push it away but seeing if you can maybe welcome the resistance and get curious about what the resistance might be trying to share with you.
Once you find yourself in that comfortable seated position or in that lying down position or in this moving position maybe on your walk,
I invite you to slowly start to bring your awareness to that physical support underneath you.
Noticing the parts of the body that are making contact with that physical support and if you can,
The invitation here is to see if you can soften into this physical support even if it's just one or two percent here to start and as you maybe begin to soften into this physical support underneath you,
I invite you to maybe allow this physical support to be a representation of any unseen support that you might resonate with,
Whether that's universe or spirit,
Source,
God,
Greater intelligence,
Maybe allowing this physical support to remind you of that unseen support that is always within you and all around you with each day you wake,
With each breath you take,
And with each move you make and as you start to connect with this unseen support,
This maybe greater intelligence or this universal energy,
The invitation is to right away see if you can allow yourself to open up and receive this physical support and receive this unseen support that is here for you today and really always and if you can maybe allow yourself to open and receive it,
The next invitation is to allow yourself to soften into it,
Maybe another one or two percent here and it's from this supported space that I invite you to start to bring your awareness to your breath and just watching the breath flow in and flow out,
Not feeling like you need to make any changes to the breath quite yet,
Just noticing where your breath is landing today and as you start to bring your awareness to your breath,
Perhaps you've noticed that your breath has already started to slow down and whether it has or it hasn't,
The invitation is to invite your breath to slow down even more here by extending those inhales and extending those exhales and as we take these slow sweet and full deep breaths in and out through the nose,
Seeing if you can allow yourself to really open up and receive the support of your breath and you allow each breath in to fill you up and to energize you and to revitalize you and can you allow each breath out to support you and maybe letting go of clearing space,
Becoming more present and grounded in this moment,
Continuing to take a few more of these slow sweet full and soft deep breaths in and out of the nose and as you feel ready,
I invite you to start to reflect here on something that you would like to celebrate about yourself.
What is one quality of yourself that you truly love and admire and maybe you can see yourself in a moment either in the past or maybe in a moment to come where you are exuding this quality that you admire about yourself and as you reflect on this quality and maybe reflect on this moment,
I invite you to notice what's happening in the body.
Are there any physical sensations that arise as you reflect on this quality and maybe this memory or moment to come and I'm curious if this quality about yourself has a certain texture and do you notice this texture in one spot or do you notice it all over and do you notice this quality in one spot in the body or is this a quality that you notice all over?
Does this quality have a certain shape or maybe a size?
I'm just taking a moment here to notice what you're noticing and to take some slow sweet and full deep breath into any of the physical sensations or colors or textures of this quality that are standing out to you and as you feel ready I invite you to slowly release this quality maybe releasing this memory or moment to come and as you feel ready I'll next invite you to reflect on a moment or perhaps a win that you've had over the last two and a half weeks and I say two and a half weeks because at the time that this is being recorded we are just passing through the full moon and while the full moon is a time for release it can also be a time for celebration for culmination so maybe reflecting on how the past few weeks have gone since the last new moon maybe you've been working towards some goals or intentions or manifestations maybe seeing if you can really pin down some sort of progress some sort of insight maybe some sort of shift that you've been able to create in the last couple of weeks and again doesn't matter how big doesn't matter how small all of these moments matter and so once you have this win once you have this accomplishment or this shift I invite you to sit with this and take some full slow sweet soft deep breaths into this moment into this shift into this awareness and again noticing what you're experiencing in the body are there any physical sensations that arise as you reflect on these things and bringing your awareness there taking a couple of more slow sweet full soft deep breaths into whatever it is that you're noticing in the body are you noticing these sensations all over or maybe in one spot are these sensations big or small do these sensations have a certain shape or a texture that you might sense or maybe as you reflect on these things it inspires you to make a gesture maybe you want to reach your arms up towards the sky and celebration maybe you want to give yourself a big hug following whatever feels organic and intuitive for the body here and taking a couple of more slow soft sweet and full deep breaths allowing these moments to integrate into the body and into the nervous system and if you can seeing if you can stay with these sensations stay with these beautiful moments for just another minute here and maybe by doing so maybe by taking the time to slow down and to connect with these memories these experiences these awarenesses these shifts that you've been able to create for yourself just maybe you can start to build more confidence or trust more resilience may you know how incredible and how powerful and how beautiful and how magical you are and sometimes we forget when life gets hard and may you know that you can always come back to these memories you can always come back to these moments of celebration of accomplishment to remind you who you truly are to remind you of how capable you truly are noticing if any emotion has started to arise and maybe taking a moment to welcome and acknowledge it here I see you I feel you I'm right here with you as you feel ready slowly starting to bring your awareness back to that physical support underneath you noticing the parts of the body that are making contact with that physical support and again maybe seeing if you can soften here even if it's just another 1% here as we close out for today and as you feel ready slowly starting to invite movement back into the body wiggling the toes the fingertips maybe taking a full body stretch or a couple of neck circles if that feels good I'm taking your time opening the eyes and as you do maybe taking some time to just look around your space and notice what you see notice what you might hear in the background I invite you to spend a few moments maybe journaling about what this brought up for you today if you're able to and I want to thank you and acknowledge you for taking the time to slow down and to prioritize your health and your well-being and in this particular meditation your confidence and your ability to trust and yourself your ability to love yourself your ability to celebrate yourself may you know that you matter I concludes our meditation for today I wish you a beautiful rest of your day and I look forward to connecting with you soon take care
