Beginning with breathwork, this meditation walks you through your power of choice in negativity or positivity. Though we don't like to accept our own responsibility in this power, we have a choice in what we focus on. It's time to claim your power.

I invite you to find a comfortable position,

Either sitting up or lying down,

Beginning to become aware of the breath and its natural flow moving in and out of the body.

Begin to notice those subtle movements,

The natural rise and fall of the shoulders and the chest,

The natural expansion and contraction of the belly.

Notice the temperature change within the nostrils as you breathe in and breathe out.

And begin to invite the breath a little deeper,

Allowing it to naturally slow down and calm the body,

Using the breath as your anchor.

And begin to imagine relaxing by a beautiful lake.

The breeze is softly blowing over the lake and you watch as the ripples are created across the surface.

Your surroundings are calm and pleasant and you notice a feeling of peace washing over the body and calming the mind.

Take a deep breath in and allow for this peace to fill you,

Starting with the toes and moving all the way up the body to the top of the head.

And again,

Come back to that lake.

Bringing it into your mind's eye once more,

You begin to look around at your surroundings and you can hear birds singing in the trees,

Softly singing songs,

Softly singing a simple tune of happiness and joy.

Take the time now to actively release any worries and any disturbing thoughts,

Any sadness you may be feeling and allow those feelings to float away as the clouds do in the sky,

Floating further and further away.

Anything that has happened today or maybe yesterday,

Allow that to move away with the clouds.

It is now time to let it go and remind yourself that you are in control of your mind and your body.

You can choose to allow bothersome emotions to leave and in doing so,

You free up space in your heart and in your mind for positive things.

Remind yourself that life is more about creating what you want and choosing the things that you want in your body and in your mind that make you feel good.

When you're able to focus on the positive,

You do receive more positive experiences in your life.

Using any negative thoughts serves as an umbrella on a rainy day.

The rain is still there,

But it does not have to affect you.

Picture yourself now in a stormy,

Rainy situation and as you open up your umbrella of positivity,

You now see how the umbrella protects you from what is going on around.

This allows for you to recognize the safety and security that you provide for yourself.

You don't have to be a part of the rainy difficulties.

It truly is your choice how you react to what comes your way.

Take a deep breath in and a long breath out.

Know that you have all the tools that you need within you.

Choose to use them.

Choose a lens of happiness.

Choose a perspective of joy.

Notice the little precious moments.

Free and disturbing thoughts and sadness,

They are choices.

You can say no to them.

Release all the things that have been stressful for you.

Really actively release and let go of them.

Choose peace in this moment.

Choose this lake.

Choose the singing birds.

And recognize the amazing person that you are inside.

Nurture yourself with loving thoughts because what you practice will grow stronger.

What you practice will grow stronger.

You have a choice.

Your mind is your greatest asset and your best tool.

You choose how to use it.

Invite the breath deep within the body,

Full deep breath in,

Allowing all those good feelings to fill up your heart and your mind.

And exhale,

Long breath out.

And repeat these words after me.

I choose peace.

Bring some movement into your fingers and toes.

Begin to bring some movement into the shoulders and neck.

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes.

Take a big full stretch.

And move into your day with a sense of peace and calm.
