Hello and welcome to another meditation.
Today we'll be focused on boundaries using our breath work as a way to settle us in and empower us to create boundaries.
Boundaries are a form of self-care and we cannot pour from an empty cup.
When we have no boundaries,
Our energy centers are open to take on other people's energy,
Which can disrupt our nervous system,
Making it challenging to differentiate our emotions from others.
Establishing a strong system empowers us to say no to things and we're able to communicate our needs more effectively.
And during this practice,
You can experiment with the distance of the light around you,
Notice any changes when it's closer or further away,
Or any color changes.
To begin,
Find yourself in a comfortable position,
Whether that's laying down,
Sitting or standing.
Your eyes can be closed or soft.
Allow your shoulders to fall away from your ears,
Taking any stretches you might be craving,
Softening the space between your brows,
Softening the jaw.
Breathing in and out your nose to begin,
Noticing the quality of your breath.
You're breathing from your chest or your belly.
Without changing it,
Just notice.
Be with your breath.
Set an intention for this practice.
This is something you want to call in an energy that you're needing today,
Allowing it to guide your practice and anchor you.
Now visualize a sphere surrounding you.
It could be close,
It could be far,
Could be just a ring of light.
Notice how bright it is,
The color,
Noticing any emotions,
Sensations that come up when the sphere begins to form around you.
On the inhale,
Imagining this light growing brighter.
On the exhale,
Notice where the edge of this sphere is.
Maybe it moves with your breath.
Maybe it's still.
Maybe it changes colors.
Begin to breathe in and out,
Imagining that this light is an energetic boundary,
Protecting your energy,
Allowing you to stay safe and grounded.
And if you get distracted,
Bring your awareness back to this visualization or the breath,
Continuing to inhale and exhale with your energetic boundary.
Let's begin.
Continuing to breathe here,
Feeling that boundary protecting you.
When you're ready to be guided out,
You can stay here as long as you'd like.
Or begin deepening your breath,
Wiggling your fingers and toes,
Maybe rocking your head side to side or giving yourself a stretch.
Bring your awareness back to your body and thank yourself for setting these boundaries for your well-being for this moment of self-care.
Letting that visualization release,
Slowly opening the eyes,
Knowing that you can always return to this boundary,
That it's always with you whenever you need it.
Take a moment to notice any shifts in your energy and reflect.
Thank you for taking the time to practice with me today.
