Thank you for joining me for this meditation for the present moment.
Take a moment to get comfortable and then whenever you're ready you can close your eyes.
Start to invite some stillness into your body and take a breath friend.
Feel the air fill your lungs reaching down to the depths of you and then release it.
It's okay if you've been a bit lost in all of the moments that aren't happening now.
Anxiety and worry can pull us back and forth until we are tired,
Until we forget to breathe,
Until we are filled with tightness and tension.
This is okay.
I am here to walk with you and I have a way towards the present moment.
You have it too.
It is your breath.
So breathe dear friend.
People in and out,
Expansion and coming back to center.
This is something that we started as soon as we came into this world.
We drew breath then and we can draw it now.
Slow and steady.
Don't rush.
Notice how the breath feels.
Notice the temperature.
Notice the speed of your breath.
Notice the inhale and the exhale and find the stillness in the moment in between.
Notice the undulations,
Perhaps the flightiness of the mind,
The want that it has to flit around from branch to branch and look at all of the shiny things that have fallen to the ground.
This is okay.
Try not to shape or mold the breath in this moment.
Try not to stuff it into too small a container.
Just let it be.
The body might tell you that it is tired,
Tired of sitting and of all of this stillness.
This too is okay.
We can let it grumble and we can also nurture it with the breath.
Isn't it funny how every question,
The answer is the breath?
Breathe into your body,
Fill it up,
Take up space.
Let yourself expand and fill every inch of your being.
Breathe deeply into the parts of your body that have carried all of your pain,
Your worry,
Your fear around,
Often far longer than was ever their job to do so.
Send breath and love and patience to the body,
Not fighting,
But instead sending compassion.
It's okay friend,
Just a little longer.
You can say to it in your softest voice and then you can let go and bring your attention back to your breath.
Breathing in deep and calm and whole,
Everything is the breath and nothing exists outside of it.
It lifts and nourishes,
Reaches and expands.
It sinks into a rhythm that is unique to you and also a song that has been sung by every generation before you.
Stay here,
Be present,
The breath whispers and so you do,
Letting everything that is not the breath fall away.
S pounds.
You you you you Take a few more breaths feeling yourself slowly and gently returning coming back to your life and the moments outside of this meditation the breath is always ready and waiting for you to come back to it whenever you might need thank you so much for sitting with me in this meditation today
