I am so glad that you decided to join me for this meditation to reconnect to your breath.

Welcome.

When is the last time you paused to simply appreciate and connect with your breath?

It is so easy for us to rush through our days without ever stopping to appreciate something like our breath,

Something that happens without any conscious thought at all.

Our breath can be such a powerful tool when we choose to breathe mindfully.

It has the power to release physical tension.

It can help us to move emotions and settle into a place of calm within just minutes.

For the next few minutes,

I invite you to press pause on your busy life and to become aware of your breath,

Noticing how it feels and beginning to harness its power.

If you haven't already,

Take a moment to find a comfortable position and then you can go ahead and gently close your eyes.

We are going to begin by simply becoming aware of the breath.

Feel your breath as it moves through your body.

Notice how it fills your chest and your belly on the inhale,

And how your body begins to relax and soften on the exhale.

Simply allow your breath to be.

We're not trying to change anything about it right now.

In this moment,

We are just noticing,

Just feeling.

We are reacquainting ourselves with our breath.

Now we ask the breath to slow down,

To expand.

Slowly slowing down the cycle of your breath,

Bringing it down to the depths of your belly,

Allowing your belly to really expand with each breath in.

Deep breath in through the nose,

Long slow breath out through the mouth.

Deep breath in,

Slow breath out.

Deep breath in,

And a long slow breath out.

Allow the breath in to fill your diaphragm completely,

Feeling how it pushes against the very edges of your being,

Expanding,

Nourishing,

And grounding.

Let the rhythm and sensation of these breaths fill your awareness.

These deep,

Intentional breaths are incredibly nourishing.

They nourish our minds and our bodies.

When we consciously breathe into our bellies,

It signals to our minds that we are safe.

That we can relax,

Let down our guard,

And put aside any worries for the time being.

Notice how the breath moves through your body,

Where it flows freely,

And where it might get stuck.

If you come across an area of tension,

Breathe into it,

Sending all of the oxygen and nourishment to this area that needs a little extra love right now.

You can imagine the inhale bringing love and light to this area,

And the exhale releases any tightness,

Tension,

Or heaviness.

It drains out from your body,

Allowing the breath to flow more freely.

Each breath in now fills you with a beautiful new energy.

This energy fills your lungs,

And with each breath you take,

It slowly begins to spread throughout the rest of your body.

This energy begins to fill your heart,

Your mind,

Your neck,

And it flows down into your torso,

Filling your arms,

And flowing down through your legs.

This new energy leaves you feeling refreshed.

You are connected to your breath and your body,

And you are present in this moment.

You have been reminded of the power your breath holds,

And you know that this tool is here for you as you move forward.

Whenever you need to slow down,

Reconnect to yourself,

And find that moment of calm.

When you are ready,

You can slowly open your eyes.
