Today I'm going to talk you through a simple and effective gratitude practice that will support you to ground back into the present moment,
Focus on some of the good in your life and assist you to move your attention away from any challenging thoughts.
This is particularly useful if you're feeling anxious or overwhelmed or maybe feel like your nervous system is dysregulated because it can help to shift your focus and embody some new positive thoughts.
This gratitude practice is a little different to ones that you may have heard or done before because it takes into account more than just the positive things to be grateful for.
This practice is what I call the three gratefuls and it's one that I do myself each evening before I go to sleep and has also worked really well with my clients and you're basically going to move through three gratitude statements.
The first one is your traditional gratitude practice of thinking or saying one positive thing that you're grateful for from today.
So an example of this for me would be I'm grateful that I have the opportunity to record this audio for you today.
So what's one positive thing that you're grateful for from today?
The second one is thinking or saying one negative thing that you're grateful for from today and what it's helped you to learn or improve.
An example of this for me would be I'm grateful that I took action on making a difficult phone call because it showed me that I can do hard things and that I'll always feel better when I'm not ruminating about it.
So what's one negative thing that you're grateful for from today and what has it taught or shown you?
The third one is thinking or saying one thing that you're grateful for that hasn't happened yet.
This starts to train your mind to focus more on the things that you're hoping to manifest or bring into your life and by expressing gratitude towards it you show yourself that it's possible.
An example for me would be I'm grateful that I get the opportunity to speak to corporate teams about creating more calm from the inside out.
This is something that I plan to do more of this year so I'm grounding into it by bringing my attention and gratitude there.
So what's an opportunity or thing that you're grateful for that hasn't happened yet?
That's my three gratefuls practice and it's an easy supportive way to bookend the day and tune into the good,
The lessons and the potentials that come your way each day.
