Hello,

My name is Tonya.

I am so glad you are joining me and that you decided to do something good for you Today,

I want to talk to you about a subject near to my heart Authenticity.

What is it?

How do you live authentically?

This is a big subject So let's take the first step in exploring what it means to be you according to the website mind tools Authenticity means you're true to your own personality values and spirit Regardless of the pressure that you're under to act.

Otherwise,

You're honest with yourself and with others and you take responsibility for your mistakes Why is it so hard for people to be real?

We protect one another's feelings by telling white lies We fear the other person will have ammunition against us When we lie to others we create an even bigger problem lack of trust for example You might ask do I look good in this dress?

Typically somebody might say yes But if they say no good Because now I won't go in public looking bad So truth is good.

If I can't trust you to be honest with me in the little things How can I trust you in the bigger things?

A colleague of mine put it this way people do not have the eagle strength to face the perceived or real consequences of being honest When we are truthful with others,

We allow them to manage their own emotions to reframe rejection To honor another's choices,

Which are not personal We take care of ourselves and we allow others to take care of themselves It's a formula for success and yet so many people exist in a state of codependence Which is a recipe for failure manifested by feelings of irritability anger frustration resentment and a host of mental disorders This applies also to the truth about ourselves Sometimes that's hard to swallow It means we may have to make a change Often maintaining status quo seems easier than embarking on a quest of change We are not sure that we can sustain Yet when we are true to ourselves It can be freeing even liberating So take a moment to think about what would it look like to be you?

What do you love?

Do you dislike?

What do you value?

What are you afraid of?

And can you continue living the way you are?

Now I want to give I want you to give yourself this couple of minutes to just be You'll begin to thrive when you honor yourself when you go from doing to being So let's practice breathing.

I Want you to breathe in through your nose for four hold for seven And blow out through your mouth for eight And make a noise and we'll do this three times to allow your mind to connect with your body and I'll count for you Okay Breathe in through your nose for four two three four hold two three four five six Seven out through your mouth for eight two three four five six seven eight again in through your nose two three four hold two three four five six Seven out two three four five six seven eight one more time in two three four hold two three four five six seven out two three four five six seven eight Very good Now you have taken a step toward really being the you That you were meant to be you've given yourself time and space For just you today,

I wish you the best day ever Congratulations for completing this exercise and have a very blessed day
