Sat Nam and welcome.

My name is Hua.

Sat Nam means truth is my identity and Sat Nam is an invocation or greeting that we use in Kundalini Yoga.

And so welcome.

Welcome to this platform and to possibly your first Kundalini Yoga meditation.

This meditation is to receive the divine blessings of the universe and it's a classic go-to for many of us teachers.

It's easy,

It's accessible and it really delivers you to a space of feeling the blessings that are in you and around you all the time.

So the way that we're going to practice,

I'm going to do a few things here.

I'm going to explain to you the posture,

I'm going to explain to you the mantra that we're going to use and then I'm going to explain to you the way that we tune in before we do any Kundalini practice.

So first we'll talk about the mudra,

The posture.

You'll bring your hands as if you were going to catch water,

Like you put your hands underneath the sink and you cup your hands together.

Same concept,

You're going to seal the edge,

The pinky edge of your palms together and you're going to take this cup and you're going to place it just at the top rib line.

So pulling your elbows slightly in,

Snugging those hands right underneath that chest line,

Right up against that top rib is where the hands are going to rest.

The spine is going to be straight so ideally you can sit down on the floor but if that's not possible you can always sit on the edge of your bed or the edge of a chair.

The idea is really to create length in the spine.

So go ahead and just find that tall spine for a moment and imagine that a string is being pulled from the crown of your head,

That soft spot that we all had as babies,

That's the crown,

The crown chakra.

So imagine that a string is lightly pulling the crown of the head up and the sit bones and the tailbone are heavy and they're rooting the body down to the earth and then there's a length that's being drawn up the vertebrae of the spine.

So that's where we want to be when we're meditating.

It creates a beautiful open channel for our energy to flow.

So finding that posture if you're not already there and then bringing those hands into that mudra just making sure that you've got it and then you can go ahead and relax for a moment.

So now the mantra.

Mantra is a really vital part of Kundalini practice and we use mantra because it tunes our body like an instrument to a higher vibration,

To a higher frequency and when we're tuned to that higher frequency it's easier to live that higher frequency.

And in Kundalini we really believe that we're constantly surrounded by blessings and opportunities but if we're not focused,

If we're not connected to spirit,

To God energy,

Then those opportunities and those blessings can just whiz right by us without us even realizing it.

So this meditation helps to open us up to that space to be able to slow down enough to see them,

To realize them and to receive them.

All those blessings that we long for in our lives.

And so Ek Unkar Satguru Prasad,

Satguru Prasad Ek Unkar is the mantra and it simply means there's one creative force that has created this universe.

Let that creative force flow through me giving me all the blessings,

All the gifts,

Everything that I need to live this life fully.

So it's a beautiful,

Beautiful mantra and it'll be sung by Jay Jigjish,

A Kundalini musician in one of the most beautiful renditions and so you'll have the opportunity to really hear the sound current and meditate on the sound as you sit in this prayerful position of receptivity.

I want to talk really quickly about how we tune in because in every Kundalini practice we tune in with the mantra,

Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo and this mantra helps to slow us down,

Set the intention,

Set the space for our practice.

It means I bow,

I honor the great teacher,

The wisdom,

The divinity that lies within.

Let this practice help me access that wisdom and that divinity.

So it's really just an honoring of yourself and an honoring of your highest self.

And so we will begin by tuning in on the next track before we go into the meditation.

So a little quick recap,

We're sitting with a tall spine,

Our hands are in that beautiful mudra,

Catching the water,

Right in front of the heart and our eyes are closed,

Focused down at the tip of the nose.

So you have to kind of cross your eyes to look down at the tip of the nose and then you just allow a sliver of light to come in.

So the eyes are technically nine tenths closed but this posture on the eyes can get really uncomfortable.

So if you need to take a break then just relax the eyes without releasing the posture and then bring the focus back to the tip of the nose,

Especially if you're newer to this practice,

That can be intense on the brain.

So you can just practice it in small stents and grow your capacity to be able to hold that focus longer.

But you're sitting tall,

Your hands are in this beautiful mudra,

Your eyes are focused down at the tip of the nose,

You're breathing long and deep,

You're really expanding the lungs.

Imagine that breath filling up your belly,

Not just your chest but going down into the depths of your belly,

Opening your belly up like a balloon and then drawing that breath back out.

So focusing on that long deep breath as you allow this mantra to just wash through you,

Imagining that you're receiving the blessings that you long for pouring in through those catching palms and simply just be.

And if at any point the mantra starts to become very familiar and you want to chant,

You're welcome to begin to chant this mantra along with Jayajit Jish.

So settle in,

Get comfortable,

I will tune you in or you will tune in with me,

Your choice,

On the next track before we jump right into our meditation.

Thank you again so much for joining this Kundalini Meditation for Blessings.

I hope that you have a Blessed,

Blessed Day.

Sat Naam.

Unlike the majority of guided meditations that simply state what to do, you offer explanations of why and how so we can understand the benefits. I like that!
