“WACURI™ - Journey to Your Inner Child" is a five-minute guided visualization exploring your connection to your Inner Child. We all carry a memory or energetic resonance of our childhood triumphs and traumas. • This journey is led by Dan Spinner, a 30-year Life Coach, Aikido Master and Mindfulness Teacher, who was the CEO for the Deepak Chopra Foundation, advisor to the Esalen Institute, Ken Wilber’s Integral Institute, and other organizations dedicated to positive change.. • Like other Wacuri™ journeys, the goal is to enable busy modern people to build the habit of quickly dropping into a deep state of connectedness with self, others and the sacred universe. • Wacuri™ is short for “Wake Up Curious,” and is a method of five-minute guided social meditation – followed by deep sharing among the participants – developed by Dan and his partners in Wacuri.

Take a nice couple of deep breaths please in your own rhythm and adjust your posture to be comfortable.

And come with me today on a journey to your inner child.

Even if you will that you're wandering down a path outdoors,

A field perhaps,

A garden.

It's a beautiful day.

But the path leads you towards the sound of a stream,

Just a small stream but you can hear it.

And you're curious about that and so you continue down to wander towards the stream.

And surrounding the stream are trees.

Beautiful trees,

Different kinds of trees.

Imagine them for a moment how you will.

Because perhaps just a light breeze,

Maybe sunlight on your face.

Then as you get closer to the stream you notice that there seems to be somebody or something sort of flitting between the trees on the other side of the creek.

You can't quite see.

And as you get up to the edge of the stream you stop.

You decide to watch more carefully to see who or what this might be.

You're watching,

You're attentive,

You're listening.

There's a little rustling sound.

You see the movement again.

A blur,

It looks like a person.

And then again another spot behind another tree.

And the person seems to be looking at you.

And you call out.

He says,

Hey,

Who's there?

It's okay.

And this person steps out from behind one of the trees and turns out to be a child.

Small child.

Perhaps six or seven years old.

You decide maybe five,

Three,

But no younger than three and maybe no older than eight.

The young child.

And this child looks very,

Very familiar to you.

And as the child gets closer to their side of the stream you look again and you realize it's you.

However it happened,

Whatever it means,

There you are at a very young age looking back.

And you can't help it,

But you reach out with your heart to embrace this child with your love and your compassion.

And take a moment.

And you can see and feel from this child all the wonder and mystery and beauty and confusion and uncertainty that comes with childhood.

Your particular childhood.

You revisit it,

So to speak,

Through their eyes.

And you want so much.

Tell him or her what you've learned.

And in this brief moment you send wisdom and insight.

And any other gifts you think your young self,

Your inner child may need.

And he or she seems to feel it,

And seems to light up and seems to relax a bit and seems to have more light and brightness in their eyes.

And now there's a connection between you and him or her.

And a smile starts to play out on your face.

And your inner child's face.

And new connections have been made.

And new discovery.

I wish this is just the beginning.

And now the child walks away slowly,

Happily.

Wanders back into the woods.

And you turn around and come back along the path.

With a curious,

Warm feeling in your heart.

And when you're ready,

Give thanks.

And come back into the room.

And have a wonderful day.

The rare WACURI recording that really does work quite well (at least for me) as a 5-minute exercise—though, as always, I wish there were also a longer, more in-depth version.

amazing, loved this. only thing think could lose the “and have a good day at the end” feels rushed and not necessary and took me out of the story.

The things I would tell my younger self! The love I would have shown him; the wisdom I would have shared. I felt a bit sad and happy at the same time. Didn't expect to feel so much but I'm glad I did. Thank you very much. Namaste. 🙆
