Your genes do not necessarily determine your destiny.

Scientists used to say,

And still do say,

DNA lives in a glass and whatever it says it's going to be.

Well,

Now we know that the unit of information inside cells,

I.

E.

Genes,

Are not as definitive as we once thought.

As a matter of fact,

We can actively change our gene expression by making lifestyle changes.

About 70% of the genes that code for health and longevity are under our control,

Based on what we choose to do in our lifestyle choices and in our environment.

Environmental medicine is really now a popular,

It's a hot,

Emerging,

Crucial factor for health and that is going to be a key quality for even future hospitals.

How can we alter the environments of hospitals with various technological implementations that basically mimic nature for better healing outcome of the patients?

Now,

Why am I talking about environmental medicine?

Before we get into that,

Old science was all about nuclear DNA and it said that.

It said,

Okay,

DNA,

Which is living in this glass test tube,

Is going to determine your destiny,

Whatever your parents are,

You are going to be.

This is the problem with people thinking,

Oh,

My mother has diabetes and my auntie and my grandmother,

I'm going to get diabetes,

Or my grandmother and my mother had colon cancer,

That means I'm going to get colon cancer,

And unfortunately,

This is going to create an expectation within the body and it's going to invite this disease.

You're going to accept these diseases,

But once again,

About 70% of the genes are under our control and are determined by right now,

The environment,

And this is mitochondrial DNA and this is the type of DNA which is much more influential and more impactful and even if you do have significant hereditary factors of disease,

Yes,

It's influential,

But it is nowhere near as influential as your current state,

How you live right now,

Your lifestyle,

Your diet,

Everything,

Your environment.

Now,

On the topic of environment,

Well,

That is because we need to look at actually,

We are mainly bugs,

99% of the micro RNA in your bloodstream,

Yeah,

I'm speaking to you listening on Insight Timer,

99% of your RNA is not from a human source,

It is from microbiome.

Microorganisms,

Microbes carry 8 million strands of DNA,

But your human cells are only carrying 22,

000 strands of DNA,

So this is the ratio,

You know,

Yes,

Maybe got some influential from the hereditary factors,

But that's 22,

000 compared to 8 million of the microbes,

Microbes make up 90% of all the cells in your body,

So me and you,

We're mostly bugs and these bugs and microbial genes are altered by our environment,

Our lifestyle,

Our thoughts,

Our belief system,

Our mind and consciousness,

Not by metabolic disorders or the cancer your mother and her mother had,

So drop this fear,

Excuse and more importantly,

Drop the belief that the diseases your parents and grandparents were woefully inflicted with have predisposed you to that similar disease,

So we really need to remove this because it's really the cause and the mind is the king,

In Ayurvedic medicine,

The science of life,

The laws of nature,

The mother of medicines of which I,

Dylan Smith,

Am a practitioner of,

There's a bit of a hierarchy,

There is a hierarchy in human physiology and it goes first consciousness,

Second mind,

Third body,

So if you're thinking,

Oh,

My father had Parkinson's and my uncle,

I'm gonna get Parkinson's disease,

Not mind,

The body follows the mind,

Mind is king,

But if you truly know by understanding the science and even innately,

Intuitively know within yourself that maybe these things load the gun a little bit,

Like with some weak,

Poor quality bullets,

But what pulls the trigger,

That's mitochondrial DNA,

That is your current lifestyle,

So I can,

Even though I may have a bit of a weakness,

But that is so weak compared to my current state,

My mitochondrial DNA,

Focus on nuclear DNA is absolute outdated science,

We need to be with the mitochondrial DNA,

Genetics are actionable,

So I invite you to become an active participant in determining your health's future,

Be a leader,

Be a master of your physiology,

Don't let something else,

Whether it is a belief or a fear or even a body imbalance,

Don't let that lead you,

Don't let that lead your body towards a certain status of health,

Before I end this track,

I'm gonna just share a few ways to increase healthy microbiome,

Which as I said,

Most of our body is full of these microorganisms,

First of all is to breathe in your microbiome,

Your nasal structures have turbinates,

Which are like filters from environmental pollutants and we can enhance these turbinates with a Ayurvedic practice of Anasya,

Which is sniffing oil up the nose,

Your digestive tract starts in the nose,

You can breathe in microbes,

Go into new environments,

Go into different bush areas or parts of nature,

Macro systems,

Anything different,

Get dynamic,

Get diverse and breathe in your microbiome and sniff some Ayurvedic medicated oil up your nose,

Even some ghee,

Just rub it in your nostrils and in Insight Timer on the daily routine course,

I've got more information on that Ayurvedic practice of sniffing up oil up the nose,

Which is called Anasya,

Touch a plant,

Get in nature,

Sit next to a plant,

Harvest some plants with your bare hands,

Bare feet on the ground,

Sit in dirt,

Whatever it is,

Touch nature more,

Give yourself an oil massage and on Insight Timer,

We have a whole guide to self-oil massage,

Ayurvedic oil massage,

Because actually the same amount of species of microbes that are in your gut are also in your skin,

So applying oil to the body and giving yourself a massage feeds the rich microbiome that lives on your skin,

In addition Self-Abyanga has so many fantastic benefits like pacifying the nervous system,

Stress,

Anxiety,

Sleep,

Enhancing lymphatic circulation,

Blood flow,

Detoxification,

Protecting from environmental pollutants and electromagnetic fields that are harmful,

So you can learn more about Self-Oil Ayurvedic Massage on my Insight Timer track,

Drinking certain probiotic foods like yogurt mixed with water such as butter milk,

Ghee,

Clarified butter,

Eating food directly off the plant,

An organic plant,

Like pick it and wait for a long time,

Eat right then and there with mindfulness,

Wash your hands less,

Get over that over sanitization,

Needing to over sanitize and rub alcohol and these disinfectants constantly,

Infections are mostly transmitted by air,

Not really by shaking someone's hand,

So don't be afraid of that,

Be more friendly,

Happy to touch more things and expand the dynamics of your microbiome so that you can go into new environments or a virus or bacteria comes into your life which is inevitable and you are less vulnerable,

You are less sensitive in a vulnerable way,

You have more adaptation energy because you are diverse,

You are a master of your body,

You are the leader of your microbiome,

So once again my friend,

Become an active participant in determining your health's future and your current state.
