The word meditation is vastly used and meditation is different for different people.
Here the meaning of meditation is we are focusing on our mind in a particular thoughts.
You are focusing your mind on a particular object or mantra or action.
This all can be considered as meditation.
So here meditation is not a thoughtlessness,
It is a thought process.
Why because if one thought can disturb our system,
Disturb our chemistry,
Disturb our mood,
Some other thoughts can replace that or refresh that or compensate that.
So non-violence,
This word we heard many times.
So before we go to the meditation let me tell you a story as a preparation.
Once upon a time you went to Himalaya.
From Himalaya,
In Himalaya you met a Yogi and that Yogi gave you two stones.
One stone is black,
Another one is white.
So he said that,
So this black stone will give you all the joy and happiness and pleasure.
This white stone will give you all the sorrow and pain and disturbance.
Suppose if anybody is coming and taking it,
Either you protect or give away.
You cannot throw this stone away,
Either somebody has to come and take it.
So when he comes to take it,
Whether you protect or give away.
So anyway you came home.
So you kept these two stones in a different room.
One is black stone in one room and a white stone in another room.
So like rituals you light a lamp.
So you go in the morning and light a lamp in the white stone because it gives you all the pleasure or the tension,
All the worries and painful.
So you go very fast and light the lamp and come back and rest of the time you stay with the black stone because it gives you all the joy,
Success and pleasure.
So one day somebody came and he said I want to take the black stone.
Obviously as a normal human being you will say no I will not give this and if he is forcing as you have a super power because of the stone,
You will definitely fight with him,
Right?
Yes.
Another day somebody came to take the white stone which give you all the pain and suffering.
What we will do?
You will tell easily okay man please take it.
The story is finished.
So when we talk about non-violence we are talking about internal violence not the violence in the world.
Even though the violence that we see outside in the world is an expression of our inner violence.
So if you think to stop the external violence in the world,
We are the one unit of the world human being and we have to stop the inner violence within.
Then the violence we see in the world will be stopped naturally.
So this is the tool in yoga.
The first tool is Ahimsa.
Ahimsa means non-violence.
So what happened here?
So my question is this which stone create violence?
Is the white stone create violence or black stone create violence?
Obviously the black stone create the violence because you are fighting for that stone because that stone gives you all the joy and happiness.
Internally also this is what is happening.
Whatever inner violence is happening to us is an unconscious effort to protect our own joy or happiness.
So what are the inner violence?
Self-doubt,
Guilt,
Lack of self-acceptance and self-love,
Anger,
Jealous,
Judgment.
These all are the inner violence.
These all violent action is happening,
Activity is happening within us to protect unconsciously protect our own joy and happiness.
So before we go to the meditation we are deciding intellectually I have decided not to entertain any thoughts which support violence.
We have to check ourselves.
Are we getting peace by violence?
Somebody said something to us and maybe we are going and beating him and we are saying the same bad word then we feel happiness,
We feel peace.
So we have to see this pattern.
If we have this pattern,
It doesn't come in one day,
It came from our circumstance,
Life situation,
Maybe from school,
Friends and parents.
So this pattern we have to break it.
Okay,
So story is over.
Now we are going for the meditation.
So you don't have to sit in a cross leg or you know your spine has to be straight and you know you should not scratch.
Suppose if the mosquito is coming and biting,
This kind of instruction is not there.
You can sit wherever you want or even when you drive,
When you drive don't do it.
You sit the way you want.
Make yourself comfortably sit or lie down and better choose a place,
Choose an atmosphere which don't disturb you that much.
So as a preparation,
Lengthen your exhalation,
Exhale completely.
Relax your body as much as you can.
Relax your mind as much as you can.
Then think about any element which makes you comfortable.
Like think about earth,
Think about water,
Air and fire.
One element will make you little better.
Maybe when you think about sky you feel better.
Ocean makes you better,
Maybe the mountains will make you better or the movement of the space which we call air will make you better or within the imagination of space like sky like nothingness will make you better.
Choose,
Experiment with this visualization and tell yourself I have nothing to achieve.
I am just having a journey.
There is no destination.
I just want to enjoy this journey.
Okay let's begin.
I am here as a human being.
I am here as a human being to feel joy and happiness because it gives me the sense of completeness,
Sense of oneness.
I know violence is the main obstacle of this oneness because violence always creates separation.
Separation doesn't give me joy.
Inclusiveness gives me joy.
Even when I hug somebody I feel good because I am trying to include that person in me.
So,
I am choosing non-violence as an intellectual tool to make my system peaceful and harmonious.
I know my body has five layers,
Physical layer,
Energetical layer,
Pranic layer,
Mental layer as memory and imagination,
Intellectual layer as analytical thinking and my child self.
In yoga we call this Annamaya Kosha,
Pranamaya Kosha,
Manomaya Kosha,
Vijnanamaya Kosha,
Anandamaya Kosha.
The final one is a child self,
Childlike,
Innocent and pure joyful self.
To touch the child self I have to establish the sensations of non-violence to all my body,
All layers of my body.
So for that now I am forgiving everyone from my childhood.
I am forgiving everyone from my childhood.
I am accepting myself the way I am.
I am accepting myself the way I am.
I am saying yes to each and every sensations and emotions and action I have done or I am doing.
Yes is an acceptance.
I love and accept myself the way I am.
For that I am not considering anyone as my enemies or anyone as my competitor.
I am not considering anyone as my enemy and anyone as my competitor.
Though in my life somebody is appearing as a competitor,
I am receiving them with gratefulness because this person is the mirror to show my full potential.
This person is showing me my full potential and power.
So I am forgiving everyone,
The people,
Those who gave me a painful situation,
Painful lesson.
I am thankful to them because of them I have learned a lesson for life and they have taught me free.
Maybe my life is successful because of one insult that I have got in my childhood or teenage.
That was a fuel.
So I am taking even an insult as a fuel,
Avoiding as a fuel.
Now I want to spread this sensation of non-violence to all my layers of the body.
My whole body.
My body cannot be violent.
My body cannot be violent on its own.
Body can create only violent situation,
Violent vibrations with the help of my energy body,
With the prana.
If my pranic body,
Energy body is not functioning,
My physical body cannot be violent.
So in its true nature,
My physical body is actually peaceful,
Non-violent.
So I am start realizing it,
I am start feeling that sensation of non-violence.
I am starting from my toes,
My feet,
I am feeling,
I am spreading or establishing the sensation of non-violence to my toes,
Toes and feet.
And the sensation of non-violence is slowly spreading to my ankles and to my calf muscles.
The sensation of non-violence is spreading to the knee and thigh.
Let that sensation spread to my hip joints and buttocks.
Let that sensation spread to my pelvic area.
The sensation of non-violence is spreading to the lower back,
Middle back and upper back.
The sensation of non-violence is spreading to my abdomen and chest.
The sensation of non-violence is spreading to my shoulders and arms.
The sensation of non-violence is spreading to my neck.
The sensation of non-violence is spreading to my face,
Eyes,
Nose,
Forehead,
Tongue,
Cheek.
The sensation of non-violence is spreading to my head and brain.
Now I am feeling the sensation of non-violence to the whole body.
This is not my creation.
Naturally my whole body is peaceful and harmonious with non-violence.
It's oneness,
It's joy,
It's peace.
Now I am moving to the energy body.
Energy body is functioning with breath.
My energy body cannot be violent without the instruction of the mind,
Which is memory and imagination.
So my energy body is naturally non-violent.
Just look at your breath.
Spread the sensation that you felt in the body to the breath also with each inhalation.
You are spreading the sensation of peace,
Sensation of non-violence to the breath,
To the energy body.
So,
You can visualize something like white light or anything which makes you peaceful and joy.
This is where we are working with the mind.
My mind is always loved to be peaceful and joyful and pleasant,
Loving.
Without the intellectual,
Logical support,
My mind cannot be violent.
To mind get violent,
There must be some intellectual and logical or belief support.
So now,
Otherwise my mind is always love,
Always like peace and harmony.
So,
Naturally my mind is also non-violent.
It's not violent.
Whenever it's conscious,
It's not violent.
Here,
Please visualize something which makes you more peaceful and harmonious.
White light,
Moonlight is the one option.
Or any Goddess or God or Guru,
Which stimulates your peace.
Jesus,
Buddha or anything,
Any deity,
Any image,
Any picture,
Any element,
Anything which you feel peace.
Now,
My mind is also completely peaceful.
May not be pleasurable,
May not be joyful,
It is peaceful.
Now comes to my intellectual mind.
As a logical and analytical mind.
I heard the story of the stone.
I remember the story of the stone.
I know now,
Violence is an unconscious effort.
My mind is doing to make,
To create or protect my peace and harmony within me.
But that action itself is taking all the peace away from me.
This pattern is part of my survival.
In the evolution,
I have picked up or my system or DNA picked up.
So now I am consciously choosing non-violence.
I will not entertain any thoughts which creates violence,
Even it is logical.
Even it is logical.
For coming 10 minutes or coming minutes,
Few minutes,
I am even ready to die with peace.
I am even ready to die with joy,
Not with violence.
Just for 10 minutes,
Just for few minutes have this thought.
Be ready for that.
Even I die,
I will die with peace,
Not with violence.
Because I know violence is creating suppression.
Violence is a safety mechanism externally.
Internally,
It doesn't have any role.
Even tiger is attacking the deer for food,
Not with anger.
I am accepting non-violence intellectually.
I will be mindful.
Now comes to the child self.
Child self is not violent at all.
Child self is innocent,
Pure joy,
Without any fear,
Without too many information.
Your child self will open only by sharing.
Selfless action.
So,
Imagine a person that you can feel love,
Selfless love.
It can be a film actor,
It can be a God,
It can be a Guru,
It can be a girl or boy or dog,
Whatever.
Any object which makes you feel,
Trigger your joy.
Or any action which gives you limitless joy.
You are being a mother of the world and father of the world,
Friends of the world,
Just for 5 minutes.
Just think like that.
Nobody is asking any money from you,
Nobody is threatening you.
Nobody is judging you.
Everybody is loving you.
You are connected with everything in this universe.
Let that joy spread to the whole layers of the body.
Or be there.
And where you feel this?
In your body,
Maybe in your heart or eyebrow or tip of the nostril or belly.
Just ask yourself,
Where is the seat of the joy in my body?
Where I am feeling this?
I am feeling this because I have this within me always.
Enjoy this feeling with breathing,
Gentle breathing.
With the breath and energy,
Let's spread this feeling to the whole layers of the body.
And feel that you are hugging with your energy body to the whole trees and plants,
The animals,
The mountains and rivers and human beings.
Fearlessly you are hugging all the beings around you to feel the oneness and expand the experience of joy.
The joy is by-product of the oneness and selflessness.
The joy is the by-product of giving,
Not receiving.
Continue this.
Stay here as much time as you want.
I am not concluding the meditation.
Remember,
This is my true nature.
This peace and joyfulness is my true nature.
