Let's practice Yoga Nidra with the visualization of darkness.

Yoga Nidra is a tantric meditation designed by Swami Sathyananda Saraswati,

A disciple of Swami Sivananda,

Vihar School of Yoga.

We are practicing here a little modified version of that.

This is very helpful for the people,

Those who are not able to forgive.

When the mind which has inability of forgiveness,

Anger,

This will help.

Usually we will visualize light.

And the evil,

The darkness is considered as evil in some system.

If you look at it,

Without darkness our life will not be complete.

Imagine,

There is no night.

We cannot sleep at the first place.

So all the healing is happening in the darkness.

So light and darkness,

The different side of the same coin.

So,

Please remove the idea that darkness is evil.

Then we can go to the practice.

Make yourself comfortable.

Better lie down or sit comfortably.

Yoga Nidra is the conscious dreaming.

To dream,

You have to sleep.

To be conscious,

You have to be,

You have to awake.

So Yoga Nidra is the state between your sleep and wakefulness.

During the practice,

Teacher will remind you to be wakeful.

Suppose if you are able to,

If you are sleeping,

If you fall into sleep also,

No problem.

Simply lie down or sit.

Be aware of the body,

Head to toes.

Be aware of your breath.

Consider your body as a home,

A big palace.

Now,

You are going to shut down or switch off the lights one by one from the different rooms.

We can feel oneness a different way.

Even the parties are happening in the dull light to feel that oneness.

Major part of the universe is dark,

Unknown.

That oneness will give you joy,

Peace.

Now,

Let's start observe your body from your right hand thumb.

You are switching off the light in your right hand thumb.

The dark healing energy,

Healing darkness is entering,

Feeling in the body.

Right hand thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Little finger,

Five fingers and palm,

Wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Shoulder,

Right side of the chest,

Ribs,

Side,

Thighs,

Knee,

Calf muscle,

Ankle,

Big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe and fifth toe,

Your whole right side.

Your whole right side is melted in the darkness.

Now,

Left hand thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger,

Little finger,

Five fingers and palms,

Wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Shoulder,

Left side of the chest,

Ribs,

Side,

Hip joint,

Thigh,

Knee,

Calf muscle,

Ankle,

Feet,

Big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe and fifth toe,

Your whole left side.

Your whole left side,

Your whole left side is melted with the darkness.

Now,

Shift your attention to the back,

Right buttock,

Left buttock,

Lower back,

Middle back,

Upper back,

Your whole back muscles,

Back of the neck,

Your whole spine,

Your whole spine,

Back of the head,

Sides of the head,

Top of the head,

Forehead,

Right eyebrow,

Left eyebrow,

Right eye,

Left eye,

Right nostril,

Left nostril,

Right cheek,

Left cheek,

Upper lip,

Lower lip,

Tongue,

Gum,

Neck,

Ears,

Right and left,

Chest,

Lungs and heart,

Abdomen,

Pelvic area,

Your whole body,

Your whole body is melted with the darkness.

You switched off all the lights.

You start feeling coolness in your body,

Relaxation in your body.

Feel safe the way you are in mother's womb.

Surrender to all the sensations and feeling which is happening in you.

Say yes to all the sensations and feeling.

Let all imbalance of the emotion rejuvenated,

Refreshed,

Healed.

Now,

Shift your attention to the breath.

Without disturbing,

Simply witness your breath.

Your breath is going in and coming out.

Do not sleep.

Simply witness your breath.

The flow of breath is creating a pattern.

You are simply watching that breath.

And start count your breath.

From 30 to 1,

7,

10.

With each count,

Your body and mind is sinking to the deep relaxation.

Each and every layer of your mind and body is merging into the darkness to reborn,

To refresh.

Even that darkness is observed by the inner light,

What we call chaitanyam,

The light,

The souls behind the light,

Consciousness.

Even this visualization of darkness cannot touch that pure pervading light.

So bravely sink your body and mind with the visualization of darkness.

Feel safe as a seed to reborn.

Continue being aware of your breath.

Continue this practice as much as you want.
