Hello,

This is Paramabhandu.

Welcome to Day 14,

A loving kindness meditation,

Reflecting on our common humanity.

At heart,

Each and every one of us wants to be happy and does not want to suffer.

Even though sometimes the way we go about this causes us suffering,

Our basic intention is to be happy.

During the meditation,

We can cultivate loving kindness by reflecting on how we share with the rest of humanity this essential desire to be happy and to avoid suffering.

The music for today's meditation is a tampura played by Vandana Jyoti.

Begin by settling into your body,

Allowing your awareness to descend into your body and as best you can,

Letting your body come to rest,

Noticing that you are breathing,

Feeling the breath entering and leaving your body.

Now,

Reflecting that like all other people,

You want to be happy and don't want to suffer.

Even though you sometimes do things that cause you to suffer,

Still,

In your heart of hearts,

You want to be happy,

Wishing yourself to be well and happy.

Now,

Allowing other people to come to mind.

They might be friends,

People you have difficulties with or people you don't particularly like or dislike.

As each person comes to mind,

Reflecting that just like you,

They want to be happy and don't want to suffer.

Wishing that each person may be well,

May be happy and may be free from suffering.

Keeping breathing and if the feelings become too strong or difficult,

Come back to yourself,

Wishing yourself well.

May you be well and happy.

May you be well and happy.

May you be well and happy.

May you be well and happy.

May you be well and happy.

May you be well and happy.

May you be well and happy.

May you be well and happy.

May you be well and happy.

Short and clear instruction at the beginning followed by music that works great as a reminder for the mind to stay with the exercise.

The time went by extremely fast just thinking of the names of all the people I know and have known names if I could it just seem to be an unending list and it went by in a flash
