Affirm Appreciation
Sometimes, when you're in the middle of a challenging situation, it can be difficult remembering to be appreciative of the good in your life. Gratitude is the antidote to so many negative feelings, especially when you express and share it with others. Focusing your thoughts on what you appreciate will improve your outlook on life. This pattern of thinking taps into an abundance of positive energy and raises your vibration. Start focusing on what you are grateful for and affirm appreciation.

Close your eyes and breathe in deeply and hold it for three or four seconds.
Then exhale slowly.
Allow yourself to adjust your body so that you're just as comfortable as you can be.
Any position you like.
Breathe deeply.
Exhale slowly.
As you inhale,
You bring more oxygen into your body.
And as you exhale,
It causes your body to keep relaxing more and more.
Continue breathing easily and freely.
And you can feel yourself becoming calmer,
More peaceful.
You are moving in to a very deep,
Peaceful state of relaxation.
As I continue talking to you,
You can keep relaxing more peacefully.
Not caring how deeply you relax,
Just happy to continue becoming calmer,
More peaceful,
And more at ease.
Continuing to breathe easily and freely.
Your subconscious mind is always aware of what I'm saying to you.
So it keeps becoming less and less important for you to consciously listen to my voice.
Your subconscious mind and all levels of your inner mind can hear and receive everything I tell you.
And your conscious mind can relax completely.
You are continuing to experience perfect peace of mind.
And you can feel yourself losing touch with the reality out there.
It just happens automatically.
You don't even need to think about it consciously.
Now I want you to imagine that you have been transported to a beautiful forest near a stream of fresh,
Clear water on a perfect summer day.
There's a warm,
Gentle breeze,
And the air is fresh and pure.
The sound of the peaceful stream is so relaxing.
It continues becoming less and less important for you to consciously listen to my voice.
Because your subconscious mind and all levels of your inner mind are hearing and receiving everything I say.
In your mind,
You're enjoying the beauty of nature.
As the sunlight shines through the trees and you listen to the gentle flow of water and the birds singing cheerfully,
You are lying there,
Comfortably relaxing.
It's so peaceful that you continue feeling more relaxed than ever before in your entire life.
As you continue enjoying this peaceful,
Pleasant experience,
A soothing drowsiness is coming over your body.
From the top of your head to the tips of your toes,
You continue feeling calm,
Relaxed,
Secure.
As you lie there with your eyes closed,
You're so relaxed,
Comfortable,
And happy that you continue moving into a more peaceful,
More detached state.
Attention means you notice and admire the beauty or goodness of something.
This can be as simple as a sunrise.
You recognize the worth of something or someone or make a positive assessment about something or someone.
The more you focus on the good qualities of a person or a thing,
The more you increase the value of it.
Let's begin our journey into appreciation by saying thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you for everything.
All life is a gift.
Every moment,
Including the moment you are in right now,
Is a gift.
Say thank you for this moment,
For this time.
Be with this moment now and think about everything that is happening right now in this moment.
What can you appreciate about this moment right now?
Could you feel your appreciation for the quietness of this moment?
Could you feel your appreciation for your body?
Could you feel your appreciation for whatever you are using to listen to this program?
For your ability to receive it?
Focus on enjoying the present moment and taking in the sounds,
Senses,
Voices,
And faces of those around you.
What else could you appreciate about this moment?
Right now,
You are showing that you understand how good something is,
How valuable it is,
And how you can appreciate it.
Even if that thing is not necessarily something you like or want,
You can still appreciate it.
Take art,
For example.
You can appreciate the time,
The talent that goes into creating a piece of art,
Even when it's not something you would hang on your wall.
But you can understand and appreciate what went into creating it.
You can take time to appreciate all things.
It's a matter of having an awareness,
An increased awareness for all the people and things around you,
For the gifts,
For the assistance,
For the kind spoken words,
For services rendered,
For thoughtfulness.
Let's begin by thinking of some of the people in your life you would like to show your appreciation for now.
Allow the faces or the names to float through your mind of some of the people you have in your life.
Allow at least one person to come to your mind right now.
Imagine yourself being in the presence of this person and having an increased awareness and increased feeling of being in the moment with that person.
And notice something about them.
Whether or not you even enjoy that thing about them.
Just notice.
It's something good about them.
Something positive that you can get a sense of appreciation for.
And while sitting with them,
Let them know I appreciate you for.
Or you can say,
I appreciate this thing about you.
Get into this scene a little more.
And as you take time to really notice them,
Notice and say to them all the things you really notice about them.
Feel your connection to yourself and with them in this moment.
Now be silent for a moment while you get in touch with what you appreciate about this person.
Great.
And now,
How does that state of appreciation cause you to feel?
It feels much better to notice the good,
The positive,
To appreciate,
Than when you are focusing on the negative,
The bad,
The things you don't like.
And what you notice is that as you view people and things in your life in this light of appreciation,
You just feel great.
It makes a real impact on your own emotional well-being.
As a matter of fact,
When we appreciate others,
It's not for the sake of making them feel good about themselves.
It's not to be kind to them.
It actually helps you feel good.
It's kind to yourself.
Now think of all the things and people you appreciate in your life.
Who else do you appreciate?
And allow these faces and names to continue coming to you.
You'll simply think one thing about this person or this thing that you really like as they flow through your mind.
I'll give you some time.
And you make a conscious effort to regularly show your appreciation for these people.
And in your own way,
You may now choose to keep a list.
This is your own appreciation list,
A journal if you will,
Of all the things in your life,
Your own life,
That go right in a day.
You can either keep this list mentally or written down.
These are all the things that went right during the day.
And so you can refer to this list during times when everything seems wrong.
You are creating a new perspective that helps you realize all the positive things that happen every day.
It's a reminder to you that life is actually pretty good.
Be sure you look back on your list at the end of every week.
Even if life deals you a blow or there are challenges and struggles you have to face,
You realize that pain and struggle are just part of life too.
It's easier for you to manage when you realize that those negative moments do make you grow stronger.
So you can even appreciate those moments that were not so favorable,
Even though they are moments you don't like.
Because in the end,
They will make you a better,
More well-rounded person and you can appreciate yourself and all of who you are.
Take a moment now to appreciate yourself and all that you are.
Get in touch with all the positive aspects of yourself.
It can be the physical things in your appearance that you appreciate.
It can be your personality and special qualities.
It can be your achievements and accomplishments.
Get in touch with all the ways that you appreciate yourself.
Because the more you can begin with yourself and appreciate all the things about yourself,
The more you can also see those things in others.
I'll give you some time.
Great.
What you're doing each day.
It can become so easy from now on to appreciate your life.
Because you might choose to become more interested noticing your life from this new perspective of appreciation.
You take time to really slow down and notice what's around you.
You observe the colors,
The shapes,
The textures,
Your relationships,
The sounds,
Tastes,
Sense.
All of the things you used to take for granted.
When spending time with others,
You focus your attention on them.
You are appreciative for the people in your life who make time for you and lend support and the opportunities for quality time.
You become more mindful what you say and how you act and show awareness for other people and things around you.
You even eat mindfully.
And as a result,
You become more appreciative of your food,
The time you have to eat,
The flavors of your food.
You're now on a long-term journey in your life where you always gain newfound appreciation for life's little things each day.
Spend at least 10 minutes a day in natural light to take advantage of your legs and strengthen them.
Whenever you go for a walk outside and let your hair blow in the breeze,
Feelings of liberation wash over you.
When you go out into the sun and contact the warmth of the sun's rays,
You feel more appreciative of each day as the light instantly perks up your mood and frees you.
Not only does this increase your well-being and productivity with a rush of endorphins,
But it can also help you appreciate your wonderful body and all its abilities that you were so generously given.
Now that you're aware of the steps you need to take to be more appreciative,
You'll practice your appreciation as much as possible so you can live a more fulfilling life.
It becomes a daily habit.
You appreciate all your surroundings.
You appreciate your life and everyone in it.
You appreciate all.
You show your gratitude and give thanks daily.
You are worthy of a positive life.
You celebrate the incredible beauty and talent of every cell in your body with ultimate love,
Appreciation,
And cheerfulness every moment,
This moment.
You openly express your deep appreciation and love for yourself and the universe.
And now it's time for you to come back to full waking consciousness.
You will do so at the count of five,
Feeling relaxed and well-rested,
Like you are waking up from a nice long nap.
So if you are ready to come back now,
You'll come back slowly and gently at the count of five.
You're beginning to feel your body where it's been resting so still and quiet,
Noticing a tingle in your fingers,
Your head,
Your toes.
Waking up even more now,
Feel your body emerging from its restful state into a wakeful,
Energetic state.
Good.
And three,
That's right,
You're ready now to be wakeful.
So breathe in the wakeful energy and breathe out any feelings of being tired.
Notice how good it feels to become wakeful again.
And number four,
Almost there,
You can now move your arms and your legs,
Wiggle your fingers and your toes,
And stretch out your torso.
Good.
And now five,
Eyes wide open,
You are fully alert and ready to be responsive and energetic.
You have all your energy and you are perfectly wide awake.
