Welcome to day one of this five-day introduction to guided meditation.
Today,
Our focus is going to be our breath.
Breath is at the very essence of life.
We all breathe and most of the time we give it very little attention.
Focusing on our breath is so important because it reminds us that we are in control.
We control how we feel and how we respond to the world around us.
We choose to approach the world from a place of love and peace or a place of hurt and fear.
Today,
We will take back our power by focusing on our breath and choosing to approach this life from a place of joy and happiness.
Instead of being anxious and overwhelmed.
Start by finding a comfortable seated position,
Whatever that might be for you.
Place your hands on your knees,
Palms facing up.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale with a sigh.
One more time.
A deep breath in through your nose and exhale with a sigh.
Focus on the feel of the air in your nostrils as you inhale and exhale.
Focus on the expansion and contraction of your chest as you breathe.
If you feel yourself getting frustrated or your mind wandering,
Simply bring your attention back to the act of inhaling and exhaling.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale with a sigh.
In life,
We often feel stuck or overwhelmed by our daily duties.
These feelings can lead to panic,
Uneasiness and anxiety.
Today,
I want you to remind yourself that you are in charge of how you feel.
No one and nothing can make you feel any certain way.
You are strong.
You are wise.
You are worthy.
You are in charge of your life.
Place one hand on your chest and focus on the movement as you inhale and exhale.
Focus on the point where your palms meet your chest.
Repeat the following words to yourself.
With each breath,
I choose to inhale positivity and exhale negativity.
With each breath,
I choose to inhale positivity and exhale negativity.
With each breath,
I choose to inhale positivity and exhale negativity.
We're going to have a few moments of silence now.
I want you to hold on to this mantra and repeat it to yourself as many times as you need to.
With each breath,
I choose to inhale positivity and exhale negativity.
With each breath,
I choose to inhale positivity and exhale negativity.
With each breath,
I choose to inhale positivity and exhale negativity.
With each breath,
I choose to inhale positivity and exhale negativity.
With each breath,
I choose to inhale positivity and exhale negativity.
With each breath,
I choose to inhale positivity and exhale negativity.
With each breath,
I choose to inhale positivity and exhale negativity.
With each breath,
I choose to inhale positivity and exhale negativity.
It's time to let go of your mantra.
Slowly bring your attention back to your physical body.
Gently start moving your fingers and your toes.
I want you to inhale and raise your arms above your head,
Stretching up.
As you exhale,
Bring your palms together and down to your chest.
Begin to rub your palms together,
Creating heat and energy.
Place your palms on your eyes and let that heat seep into your body.
Whenever you feel ready,
Gently lift up your palms and blink open your eyes.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
Namaste.
