This 8-minute practice is an exploration of some of the breathing techniques that, when combined, create an advanced breathing practice called Viloma I. I have the specific process of development outlined in other practices. But here, we are looking to play. We are looking to casually touch on these maneuvers of the torso while breathing, and to be comfortable and easeful with what they feel like.  This is a valuable tool in being the change you want to see.

Find a seated position,

At the edge of a firm chair,

And place your heels underneath your knees.

Lift them off the ground and tap them back down onto the ground,

Letting the heels thud and be heavy when you drop them.

Hear the sound that it makes,

Feel the vibration it makes,

In the heel,

The shin bones,

Perhaps the femur bone,

Perhaps the sitting bones.

Steady your feet on the ground,

Begin to breathe through your nose,

And become aware of the tip of your tailbone.

Imagine a line of energy dropping down into the core of the earth,

From the tip of your tailbone.

Let it settle and anchor into the core of the earth.

With each inhale,

Take your pubic bone away from your heart,

Rocking forward slightly on your sitting bones.

At the same time,

Expand the low side ribs.

For the exhale,

Just move it naturally,

Up the center line of the body.

The pubic bone drops away from the heart,

And the side ribs,

The base of the ribcage,

Expand.

Let this action go,

And simply breathe through your nose.

Match the size of your inhale to the size of the exhale.

Press through your feet,

And lift the arches in your feet.

Draw your sitting bones toward one another,

And up the center line of your body.

Lift your diaphragm up toward your shoulders.

Expand your upper back.

Feel your collarbones relax,

Float,

And spread.

Expand the space at the back of the skull,

And let the chin neutralize.

Breathe on.

We are one.
