Welcome,
And thank you for joining me in this guided meditation designed to assist you in drifting off to sleep.
Not only will we allow ease in the body,
But we'll also allow the mind to settle and thoughts to drift.
The positive impact of deep sleep is more powerful than we can perceive,
But it's true that we all encounter those times in our lives when sleep doesn't come as easily as we desire.
Play this meditation anytime you feel like you need a little helping hand to guide you back to meaningful rest.
Let's go to that place now.
Close your eyes.
Take a breath.
Say a little thank you to the day,
Whether or not you felt like it was a good day or a bad day.
Just say a little thanks to the day for providing lessons and perspective for tomorrow.
Allow those thoughts to drift as you bring your breath to the forefront.
You are here now.
You are finally at rest.
Come more fully into this moment now with thanks for the opportunity to rest.
Take a breath and settle into the comfort of your space.
Settle into the comforts of your own body.
Allow your breath to linger,
To deepen,
To soften.
Inhale,
Exhale.
Surrender to the weight of your body and drop into the full support of your breath.
Breathe in each time that you exhale that any resistance to relaxation falls away.
Surrender to the safety of this moment.
Take a moment to visualize your thoughts fading further and further away.
Invite in a deep breath and then let it go.
Draw upon the ability that exists within you to switch on any distractions.
Start to feel soft behind your eyes and imagine a coolness settling over your body that allows you to feel at ease.
Notice your feet.
Notice the sensations of the day release and slide away from your feet.
Notice now that your calves are soft,
Your knees are still,
And your hips have let go of any tension.
Release the rhythm of the rise and fall of your belly and notice how soothing that is.
Draw in another breath and feel the gentle fullness expanding through your ribs and then completely let it go.
Imagine your shoulders are now weightless and a complete sense of calm sits like a blanket across your brow.
Breathe.
As you drift into the night,
Say in your mind,
My mind is calm.
I am at ease.
I sleep deeply and fully.
Let's repeat that,
My mind is calm,
I am at ease.
I sleep deeply and fully.
My mind is calm.
I am at ease.
I sleep deeply and fully.
Sleep well.
I am at ease.
