And take these next few moments to become stable and still.

Take this last chance to make any final adjustments before beginning the practice of Yoga Nidra.

And head.
The whole body.
Become aware to your whole body from head to toe.
Practice full body awareness.
Look down on your body from above and remind yourself,
I have a body,
But I am not my body.
Now,
Transcending all false identifications with the material form of your outer being.
And now develop awareness to the subtle dimension of your being.
The dimension of the breath.
Bioenergy,
Thoughts and feelings.
Become aware to the motions of the breath throughout your body.
Just watch the wave-like motions of each breath.
The soothing ebb and flow of each inhalation and exhalation.
Listen to the sounds of your breath.
Allow the sounds of the natural breath to be your guide.
Now,
Develop awareness to inner space.
Sense your body as though it were only a hollow shell of skin.
Containing vast,
Etheric space.
And within the space of your body,
There is only stillness.
Develop awareness to the stillness of inner space.
Stillness,
Silence and space.
Silence and space.
Bring your awareness down to the region of Mooladhara.
Just below the base of the spine at the pelvic floor.
And become aware to a subtle pulsating or throbbing sensation at the pelvic floor.
This is the location of Brahma-granti,
The knot of Brahma.
It is here that you identify with the physical body and experience strong attachments to the material dimension and the objects of the senses.
Here you are bound firmly by the instinctive level of intelligence,
Characterized by survival and reproduction,
With attachments to material possessions and those physical items believed to give security as well as pleasure.
Remind yourself,
I have a body,
But I am not my body.
This body is subject to change and impermanent,
Therefore it is not self.
Consider the objects of the senses and say to yourself,
I am not these five senses,
Nor the objects that they perceive.
Again become aware to your motionless body and consider the sentient inner being that inhabits this body.
And develop awareness to inner peace,
The great contentment and joy that is your own true nature.
Now ascend your awareness up to the space of the heart,
The region of Anahata chakra,
Directly back from the sternum,
And become aware to Vishnu-Granti,
The nut of Vishnu.
Here the mental focus has taken a higher form,
Here at the heart there is socio-emotional attachment.
Become aware to the knot of social ties within the space of your heart.
This is where you form emotional attachments to family,
Friends,
As well as the members of your social circle and popular members of society.
It is here at Vishnu-Granti that you become attached to the emotional security that you derive from all these various relationships.
Become aware to whatever emotions and feelings are now manifesting on the surface of your heart.
And remind yourself,
I am not these feelings.
I have emotions,
But I am not my emotions.
These too are subject to change.
As you continue releasing the false identifications to social attachment,
You can experience the heart space beginning to expand.
The space of your heart is expanding outwards,
Beyond your chest,
Beyond your entire body,
The room,
And the building.
The building expanding outwards through your entire community,
Region,
And continent.
And the entire planet.
See this entire planet Earth within your heart.
You can feel a sense of connectedness to all sentient life.
All people are your people.
All life is your life.
Here and now,
In this moment,
There is only oneness.
Now ascend your awareness to the region of Agnya Chakra by becoming aware of the brow center,
Brumadia.
This is the location of Rudra-Granti,
Where we experience false identifications with attachments to beliefs.
Become aware to the comforting mental space of Chittakosh in front of your closed eyes.
Passively witness any and all shapes,
Patterns,
Or images that arise and subside within mental space.
Become aware to the activities of your mind as though you were a passive observer.
Remind yourself,
I am not these thoughts.
I have a mind,
But I am not my mind.
Now releasing all attachment to thoughts.
Now experiencing that expansiveness of silence.
Become aware to mental silence.
Within that silence,
You can experience cosmic unity.
The cosmic unity of featureless awareness.
Pure consciousness.
Preferring to listen to silence.
And gradually developing awareness to bliss.
The bliss of no thoughts.
Just passive awareness to the never ending flow of eternal silence.
Within silence.
There is fullness and completion.
There is only silence and bliss.
Only bliss.
Again,
Recall your sankalpa or positive affirmation from earlier and repeat it with enthusiasm.
Observe the calming sensations of the breath flowing in and out of your body.
Causing the belly to gently rise and fall.
And become aware to the points of contact between your body and the bed.
Awareness to all the various points of contact and the line of gravity between your body and the bed.
Whenever you are ready,
You can roll onto your side and enjoy this time to sleep.
Deeply restorative and rejuvenating sleep.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti
