Begin preparing for yoga nidra by reducing all distractions and making yourself perfectly comfortable.
Consider the weight of your body to the gravity of the earth,
Gently sinking down into the surface beneath you.
Focus on the sharp points of contact where your body meets the floor,
The back of the head,

Left shoulder blade,
Right elbow.
Left elbow right hand left hand right buttock left buttock right calf muscle left calf muscle right heel left heel All these subtle points of contact between the body and the floor together at once.
Now focus your attention on the natural breath.
Witness the breath flowing spontaneously from a detached third-party perspective.

Now formulate your sankalpa or you can repeat the following three times.
I am now perceiving my multi-dimensional highest self.
Now return your focus to the body and feel the heaviness of the right hand.

Sense the subtle energy pervading the whole body from head to toe.
And switch your awareness to the subtle energy flowing within the breath.
Focus on the energetic component of the breath.
Feel the sensation of air flowing in through the nostrils with each breath.
Emphasize your perception to the breath.
Visualize that the breath is flowing in and out through both nostrils evenly.
The inhalation starts separately at each nostril and unites at the brow center at the top of the breath.
Exhale again.
Exhale again.
Exhale again.
Exhale again.
Feel the pyramid-shaped flow of the breath in the nostrils.
The base is the upper lip.
The right and left sides are the right and left nostrils.
And the apex is the brow center.
Now begin mental alternate nostril breathing in the following manner.
Mentally inhale through the left nostril and out through the right.
In through the right and out through the left.
This is one round.
Continue feeling as though the breath were alternating between the nostrils as you count each round backwards from 21.
The purpose of the counting is not to arrive at zero,
But to remain intimately aware of each and every breath.
If you get distracted or lose count,
Return to 21 and continue.

This is the form of pure consciousness which resides in the heart as the experiencer,
The knower,
The inner seer which is none other than you.

Now feel yourself back in your body and externalize your awareness through the five senses creating a mental image of your surroundings.
Feel the points of contact between your body and the surface beneath you.
And whenever you are ready,
Take a deep breath in and sigh out loud,
Gently moving and stretching your body and open your eyes to end this session.
The practice of yoga nidra is now complete.
