I'm Carla,
Your Mindful Meditation Coach from TravellingTulips.
Com.
In this meditation,
We'll focus on just being.
Just being doesn't mean not having any thoughts.
It also doesn't mean pretending the world around you doesn't exist.
Just being means that we are taking this opportunity to embrace life as it is,
To embrace ourselves as we are,
And to even embrace our breath as it comes in and as it flows out.
For this meditation,
You can be in any position you choose.
Your eyes can be opened or closed,
As long as you're comfortable and you feel supported.
I invite you at this time to take a few slow,
Deep breaths,
To really get settled into this practice and get your system nice and comfortable.
Focus on just existing as you are.
Deep breath in,
Slow exhale out.
Deep breath in,
Slow exhale out.
Focus on keeping this breathing through the nose as you're able.
If you're unable to inhale and exhale through your nose,
Focus on doing that through your mouth.
Be gentle with yourself.
Just be.
Feel the air around you.
Just be.
Take a moment and complete a scan of your body,
From the top of your head all the way down to your toes.
Are there parts of you that are tense,
Holding on to any tension?
Give yourself permission to let them be at ease.
Being able to recognize your tension and mindfully adjust is a beautiful way to support yourself.
Be mindful of where you're holding on to this tension and continue to give yourself permission to release and just be.
I invite you to focus on a few areas together,
Mindfully.
We'll focus on what we hear,
Smell,
See,
And feel and really hone in on our experiences.
As you're able,
Draw your attention to your ears.
What sounds do you hear that are immediately near you?
Are you hearing people,
Pets,
The sound of appliances?
Really focus on what you hear.
Extend the range of your hearing.
How far out can you hear?
Are you hearing birds outside,
Airplanes flying in the sky,
Your neighbors?
Really focus.
Bring that awareness back to the space you're in and shift your focus to your nose.
As you're doing those deep inhales and slow exhales,
What scents do you smell?
Are you wearing perfume or cologne,
Lotions that you can smell?
Is there an aroma in the air?
Take a few moments and mindfully focus on those scents and just be.
Do those smells evoke any emotions or memories?
If they do,
Don't try to fight or control them.
Just let them be and allow them to come and go.
Now bring your focus and attention to your eyes as you are able.
If your eyes are closed,
Focus on what colors you're seeing.
Are you seeing glimpses of red,
Green,
White?
Embrace the colors.
Try to focus and zone in on what you see.
If your eyes are open,
Try to really zone in on an object.
Trace the shape.
Imagine the feel.
Just be and try not to control or manage this experience.
As you're able,
Take that awareness back to your breath and feel that air as you inhale and exhale.
This is just being.
Just being in this space of being able to focus on yourself.
Focus on you being centered.
Focus on you being mindful of how you feel and how your emotions are being managed.
Throughout the day,
We'll all have choices to make.
Some will be easy while some will be more challenging.
As you go through with making those decisions,
Know and be aware that you have the option to just be.
You have the choice to pause and be mindful about how you move forward.
As we conclude this practice,
Let's take a deep intentional breath in and a slow and controlled exhale out.
Remember to be gentle with yourself.
It's okay to not approach every situation perfectly.
Take the opportunity throughout your day and even tomorrow to just be and just embrace the space that you're in.
