Satsang Podcast with Sri Never Delay Your Realization The human being is the highest incarnation because it's only the human consciousness,
The human mind that can think,
That can analyze,
That can investigate,
That can examine as to what it is thinking,
What it is believing,
And what is happening.
So therefore,
We never deny the human state of existence and never need to think as if something is wrong or that we should be something else.
So this is our starting point that we realize that for a human being,
Being a body,
A mind with intellect,
With emotions,
With senses,
Is that very power of the self in its glory,
In its manifestation,
In its dream of the waking state consciousness.
Now,
If this was remembered all the time,
That self you are never limited to a human being,
And that the human consciousness is not separate from the whole,
That you are one with that divinity,
With that purity that we all are,
Then there would not be any need for sadhana,
For practice,
Because you would know your true nature.
However,
For most individual human being consciousness in the waking state,
Sadhana practice is necessary because the forgetfulness of your true nature comes automatically.
You don't choose to forget,
But as soon as the baby is born,
Slapped on the back and begins to cry because now the separation is there from the mother,
From the whole,
Then this begins.
And as a meditator,
As someone who's already begun to seek liberation,
Realization of your true nature,
You know that living the individual separate waking state consciousness is no longer how you want to exist because it's like a cancer.
The very ignorance will lead you to death.
Whether it's in the near future or whether it's in a hundred years,
A hundred years ago,
Nobody on earth now was here.
A hundred years from now,
Approximately,
Nobody on earth will be here.
So we become aware that the physical existence,
Including mind,
Body,
Senses,
Is transitory,
Is fleeting,
Just like in the dream every night.
When we go to sleep,
The dream figures may appear to be real and the scenario may appear to be one that you're living,
But when it's over,
It's finished.
In the same way,
The waking state of consciousness,
Whether it's 10 years,
20 years,
50 years,
Or a hundred years,
Will be over and you'll be back to your originality,
That which you were before you were born.
That hasn't changed,
But the human consciousness is forever changing.
Now when all the situations in the human life are going according to your preferences and the desires are being fulfilled for the most part and you're happy with your life,
Then there's no problem.
So then you live the life eating and drinking and socializing and working and enjoying.
So why would there be any need for realization of anything other than your human consciousness,
Satisfying your senses and getting your desires fulfilled?
So when things are going relatively well,
There's no sense that anything else is needed.
However,
The yogi,
The one who's seeking yoga union with the true self,
Realizes that the very nature of the human existence is birth and death.
You were born,
You are getting older,
The body is beginning to go through changes,
Some of them very unpleasant,
Painful,
And eventually the body will go.
So if you're limited or knowing yourself only as a human being,
As a human body,
Then this is the plight,
This is the cancer,
This is the disease that's terminal.
Because one day,
No matter how healthy you keep your body,
One day the body will pass,
Will go back to the elements,
Because it's made up of all the elements.
So now the meditator begins sadhana,
Begins the practice of knowing one's originality,
That very source of who you are,
Of who I am,
Who all this is,
And then we begin to see that the human being is nothing other than that same self.
Now this realization can happen in a split of a second,
Can happen just in a moment of closing your eyes and knowing space.
But to maintain that awareness is the practice.
And when things are going according to your preference,
That practice may be delayed.
We always heard this slogan when we were growing up,
Don't put off for tomorrow what you can do today.
But when things are okay in one's life,
Then it's very easy to put off your liberation,
Because you're living a state of freedom,
Of enjoyment,
Which is the very nature of your true self.
So it's only when some suffering comes in,
Some fear or worries or doubts,
Disillusionment,
That one begins sadhana.
And one can put off sadhana when things are going according to preferences,
Because there seems to be no need.
So one will put off for tomorrow what you can do today.
And then the liberation,
The realization is delayed,
Because the practice,
The sadhana isn't being done.
So that's why the regularity of practice,
Of listening to these talks,
Of sitting with closed eyes whenever you can,
Of doing any of the practices,
Pranayama,
Hatha yoga,
Study,
Is essential,
Because we know the plight of the human existence.
And if you're fixed in being a human being,
And thinking that you were born and you will die,
And everything in your life is so important on a daily basis to get what you want,
To satisfy the senses,
Then you will never have the bliss of your true self.
Because the bliss of your true self is not based on satisfying the senses.
It's not based on birth or death.
It's not based on change.
It's the unchanging reality that's forever your abode,
That's forever present.
So therefore,
In order not to delay,
We make the commitment to meditate every day,
Preferably in the morning if you can,
Before you start your day.
Because what happens when you meditate?
Let's analyze this,
Because we are human beings that have the capacity to analyze.
So we use all of our power given to us by that pure being,
That pure self,
To realize itself.
So when you close your eyes,
When you begin to meditate,
Amaram Ham,
Madhuram Ham,
You're making a shift.
The attention is shifting from the waking state mind,
Which says,
I got up this morning,
What am I going to have for breakfast?
Where do I have to go?
What do I have to do today?
What challenges do I have to meet?
How am I going to meet those challenges?
And so on and so forth.
That's the functioning of the human mind.
So now,
In meditation,
We put aside the functioning of the human mind,
And rather than going with those thoughts,
Believing that when I find the right solution of the things I need to do today,
Then I'll feel good,
I'll feel blissful,
I'll be happy.
When I convince my partner,
My friend,
Of my opinions,
Then I'll be happy.
When I satisfy those around me that are asking for my attention,
Then I'll be happy.
Or whatever it is.
We put all that aside,
That mental thinking that this should be done,
And that should be done,
And this needs to be done,
And this decision needs to be made.
We put all that aside and tune in to that very power,
The source of where it's all coming from.
So rather than looking at the sunshine as the light on the mountain,
Or on the ocean,
Or on the roadside,
Or on the trees,
We're going directly to the power of the sun.
So we're not limiting ourselves now to the manifestation,
To the individual consciousness that believes now it has the power because it borrowed that sunshine.
We're going directly to the sun.
And in order to do that,
You need to close your eyes and watch that space before the thoughts arise.
We often refer to it as the calm ocean before the waves appear.
So we bring our attention now to that calm,
Clear ocean.
And by doing that,
We leave the mental field.
We transcend the mind,
You can say,
And we go to the source of the mind from where all the thoughts arise,
From where all the memories arise,
From where all the activity arises.
So now,
By putting the attention on that source that we are,
Amaram Ham,
Madhuram Ham is the name of the source.
I am immortal.
I am blissful.
The very knower that knows all the thoughts and knows all the desires and knows all the people and knows all the situations.
So we go back to the knower and leave the waking state behind as if we leave our attention or lead our attention to the source of the waking state,
Which is the fourth state.
Now,
With the knowledge that the fourth state permeates all the states,
It's not that we don't function as a waking state being,
As a human being.
All that functioning goes on,
But it's enhanced by the power of the sun.
It's enhanced by knowing your originality.
So by taking the time in meditation or listening,
Shravan,
To the words that lead the attention to that source,
By doing this sadhana,
This is what the human being can do.
This is the power of the human being to inquire,
To investigate as to who I am.
That's not limited to thoughts.
That's not limited to mind and senses and body.
So by putting the attention now on pure,
Free forever,
Amaram Ham,
Madhuram Ham,
The space that you are is revealed.
It's not that you can make it happen with your doership.
You can place your attention there and then allow the space to open.
Allow the space that you are to be known.
It's always there.
It's the canvas before all the paint is put on it.
It's the pure space before the waking state appeared on it.
It's the space that you were before you were born and you will always be and you've always been.
So now we place the attention on Amaram Ham,
Madhuram Ham.
I am pure.
I am free.
I am forever.
And we watch the magic because it's not done with your doership.
It's not done with your mind because the mind is a limited instrument that can't know the self.
The mind can only know the things and forms and interact as a waking state being.
It's a tool that the self uses.
Just like we use a car to get from point A to point B,
The self uses the mind to play in the waking state.
Just like in the dream state the self uses the mind to create all those images and experiences.
In the same way the self uses the waking state instrumentality to live a life,
To enjoy the physical existence.
But if you forget your true nature,
If you forget that the only purpose is to know your realization then the very nature of that enjoyment will be skewed because the enjoyment will turn to pain.
Raag,
Attachment to all the pleasure giving objects will turn to dvesh,
Aversion from that which doesn't give you pleasure any longer and you'll be caught on that wheel,
Pleasure and pain,
Birth and death,
Up and down,
Good and bad.
So now we know the way out.
We know the freedom.
We know the realization and we never want to delay that.
So in any moment,
Whether in meditation,
Amaram ham,
Madharam ham,
I am immortal,
I am blissful,
Whether having a great experience or whether having a challenging experience,
You know yourself as the source,
Never believing that you're limited to your mind.
Your mind is like your computer.
You use it to know the things in the forms but you're not separate from the source of power that operates your computer.
You're not separate from the whole which is that pure self and the eyes delude you because the eyes don't see the self.
So when you open the eyes and come out of meditation,
You see yourself as a separate body.
You see your room that you're in and your furnishings and things that need to be done and how easy it is to forget.
You didn't decide to forget.
It just happens.
But that space reveals itself to you.
So at any time,
You can close your eyes and know space I am,
Pure,
Free,
Forever I am.
This is the only solution.
This is the simplest way is close your eyes,
Know the space,
Space I am,
Space I have always been,
Space I will always be.
Then,
Rather than trying to get the heat of the sun that's reflected on the cement and sometimes the sun is covered over by a cloud and the cement is not hot,
Does not get the heat,
Cannot boil your water if you put your pot of water outside in the sun,
And other times the sun's reflection comes through and then there's heat.
But rather than trying to get the heat in that limited way,
You're attending the very sun,
The power that you are.
Now imagine when you attend the very power that you are,
All the power comes from that and moves your life,
What you call your life,
In the way that's most powerful,
That comes from that source.
So the desires are fulfilled without your doership and in a way that might even be greater than the mind imagined.
And you're not dependent on it because you know your source and when you know your source as your pure bliss and tune into that,
Then everything else comes from that.
Now this doesn't mean that everything will happen according to your preference because again you're trapped in mind and believing your mind that you need this or you need that in order to be happy.
Instead,
When you focus on your true prosperity,
Which is your true happiness,
Which is your true being right now,
Whatever supports that and sustains that will come from that.
If you know the sun,
You have an infinite supply of light and heat.
You don't have to find it externally anymore.
So now you know your source and in every moment you can live that joy,
You can live that bliss,
And that's radiated from you like a magnet.
It draws it to you.
It draws everything that you need to take care of your physical body because you are not separate from that whole.
Everything you need as a human being to live the life to its highest and to share this knowledge with everyone who comes in your contact.
And your needs are reduced because you have what you need inside and that what you need comes to you to sustain the body.
That which is right for you moves you.
Things are very much simplified in your life.
You're not looking for more involvements that will make you happy in the future because your joy is from within.
It's very difficult to explain,
But when you meditate and when you know that space that's uninvolved,
That's free from your mind,
The example is often given like a lotus flower floating on the water,
Its roots in the water,
But it doesn't drown.
In the same way,
When you know that self,
Pure,
Free forever that you are,
Watch the miracle that happens.
That's the best way I can say it because you're one with the whole.
Imagine if you're one with everything.
You're never feeling limited.
There's no worry.
There's no fear.
There's no doubt.
And that what you need to live the blissful life comes to you.
So never delay.
Never put off for tomorrow what you can do today.
Never put off today what you can do right now is to know I am the source and renounce anything other than that,
Any ignorance of the mind that says I am this,
I am that,
I am this personality,
I am this problematic state of consciousness,
I can't be happy unless I solve this problem.
Renounce all that because that will not allow you to find the solution and know the solution which is here right now.
I am pure.
I am free.
I am forever.
I am that pure space before any thoughts arise.
I am that pure space before I was born.
I am that pure space which will always be.
Amaram Ham,
Amaduram Ham,
Pure,
Free forever.
That I am right now.
And in that moment there is no time and space.
It's called Siddhant Kaal.
The culmination of all that there is.
Free from time and space.
Free from worry and doubt.
Free from mind.
Free from body.
And at the same time all of it.
So you are all of it and totally free from it at the same time.
Because time is relative to a human existence.
So Siddhant,
You are free from time.
It's the highest principle because in this eternal moment,
In this eternal presence,
You are that which you are.
Amaram Ham,
Amaduram Ham,
Pure,
Free forever.
Om Shanti,
Om Peace.
May this peace be with you always.
