We continue today a wonderful day to highlight the aspects of ego that sometimes play and play very cleverly so that we don't even realize that the play is with us as the main feature and when we realize sometimes it's difficult to accept the ego I term as the monkey mind and one aspect of this work is to remember how to use the mind in a very clever way meaning that you see what is going on what is going on in the mind and how it affects and creates this specific aspect of ourselves known as the ego.

Meditation is a wonderful thing,

Meditation is relaxation and as you relax the body you also are able to relax the mind as you breathe in and breathe out.

Remember that the breath when flowing when relaxed as you let go of any tension as you relax more deeply allows the mind to follow the energy of such movement.

It is not that the body is the core of the practice it is simply that the body is part of the practice and very often when we are caught by the activities of the mind as the ego pulls us from one belief system to another we forget the body we ground ourselves not on earth not on what is happening here in this moment but rather in the flights of activities that happen when the ego is caught in the so many dimensions of Maya illusion so it is very important as you breathe in and breathe out that you remember that the breath is from here this beautiful place we call earth the manifestation of which is through the breath as we breathe in and we are breathing deeply in as we breathe out and we're deep breathing deeply out we are breathing the grounding aspect of air the air life that gives us life as we breathe in and breathe out we are manifesting this grounding not only in our body we don't just relax the body we relax our whole being into coming back here to this that is happening in this moment the flow of breath but also we ground our mind so that it is not so caught in the ethers of thoughts but rather breathing with the body and the breath if you notice as you breathe in and breathe out as a rhythm as a flow and as you become aware of this rhythm as you become aware of this flow it is not just that your body recognizes the flow that is a deeper relax relaxation a deeper state of being your mind also relaxes as it recognizes a deeper aspect of the flow when you incorporate this rhythm into your body as you breathe in and breathe out and notice how the breath changes the very structure of how you process the senses that are coming through the eyes coming through the taste coming through the breath coming through the mundane senses but also the more subtle senses the energies that are perceiving the rhythms that are behind the breath behind the breath there are other rhythms that flow in and out of the body and that touch the energy centers of the body so the body is not just grounded in a physical sense but is also grounded in an energetic sense the energy of the body relaxes opens as you breathe in and breathe out and as you do that such a fantastic feeling happens a fantastic feeling of just being here in this moment flowing with the rhythm of breath the rhythm of in breath and out breath sense this appreciate this feel this be aware completely on all physical dimensions of your body be aware of how the breath relaxes your mind your emotions not just your body your mind and emotions so that there is a sense of tranquility a sense where the ego relaxes and pulls back from its projections and comes here to this moment comes here to this moment of in breath and out breath as you do this you may wish to meditate upon the sutra that sent Kabir speaks of and this sutra is about the ego such an interesting aspect of ourselves to meditate upon to bring awareness to so that we can see what is truly going on the ego in this sutra is known as impurity is the aspect of ourselves that clouds our perceptions our deeper perceptions of who we are and in the sutra Kabir said Kabir says impurity dances impurity sings pollution displays an infinite number of guises the how and what the when and where of contamination it vanquishes charity goodness austerity devotion Kabir says only one in a million awakened to this but when he does he gives up what is tainted and joins the incorruptible sent Kabir is not speaking of moralism here the good and the bad of the world speaking specifically about the ego the ego that plays that game with you that game that tires the body the game that pulls the body away from its own energy from the life force energy that is Kundalini away and is so caught by the thoughts the thoughts that are usually negatives the thoughts that are usually lost in the negatives that have reference in the negatives and such thoughts simply dance around sing all the merits of why they're important create pollution in the mind the pureness of the mind the pureness that is here in the breath in the rhythm and flow of the breath get polluted the pollution pollutes that purity so that there are an infinite number of guises infinite number of pictures that one can get lost in as you become aware of this you become aware how important it is to appreciate simply being here rather than caught being caught in those infinite number of guises infinite number of projections that you create out of the impurity of the mind it is not that we have to try to understand the how and the what and the when and the where of where these things come from why there is contamination Saint Kabir says all this disappears with the pure qualities that happen as you come back to your heart as you come back to that part of yourself that is beautiful as you come back to the quality of love there is no contamination love is a beautiful aspect of yourself that can be what your mind contemplates what your mind devotes time to bring back to all parts of yourself to bring back to all thoughts that happen inside of yourself it is not that something is good and something is bad there is no dualism if you are relaxed if you are grounded in the beauty of your body and you feel the joy of being in your body connected to the energy and life force of your body there is a sense of celebration and ecstasy notice this as you breathe in and breathe out but be present to your breath ground your breath so that what you are breathing it's not the thoughts and the projections of your thoughts but the very pureness of air as you breathe in imagine the beauty of what you are breathing in imagine being in such a pure place the air is so free of contamination so free of pollution so free of heaviness and what you are breathing in is the lightness and freshness and aliveness of mountain air as you breathe in notice how the organs in your body the very core aspects of your physical being celebrates simply being alive in this moment as you breathe in and breathe out notice how all the pollution that you carry in the physical body the temple simply disappears as you connect to the purity of breath as you breathe in and breathe out notice as you let go of all the aspects that pollute the body that pollute the mind how much easier it is to be present to the qualities that are inherent in your heart st.

Kabir says these qualities are goodness even if you do not see the good inside of yourself even if you see the problems and the problems and the other problems and the more problems the goodness inside of your heart is what is behind the ego the ego is a mere projection of the mind the mind projects certain thoughts and belief systems and creates an ego which becomes your identity when coming back to the goodness of your heart the pure qualities of your heart there is an awakening an awakening that creates such clarity Kabir says this truly happens but only one in a million are able to do this this is not to give you a sense of I can't for sure be one of those one in a million st.

Kabir is saying that it is difficult to do this it is difficult to move out of ego and come back to heart to the heart of being it is difficult but difficulty never needs to stop you stop you in your practice difficulty is overcome when you realize that you are perfect and that coming back to your heart is more natural than being lost in the Maya and when you realize it is very difficult to do this you realize it's so much easier when out in the world to be lost in what is going on and to catch yourself in that moment and say where am I I'm not grounded in my breath I'm not present to my body I'm not present to the energy that is aliveness I'm not present to anything I'm lost in my thoughts I'm lost in the projections that the egos creating that create another dimension of existence future past and there I am lost watch yourself during the day and see like so many around you how lost everyone is how lost in the thoughts and their belief systems how lost during the day how lost you are but remind yourself that you as you get lost have the potential within you to come back to the breath to come back to the aliveness of breathing in and breathing out and simply by doing that even if it is once in a million seconds once in the million seconds of the week just that once allows those qualities within the heart to be remembered and as you remember those qualities there is a momentum that happens within yourself there is an aspect that is incorruptible within you and that is the remembrance of the beloved as you remember the pure qualities within yourself there is a momentum of love that begins to move your awareness back to itself back to the heart back to the point within yourself that is more luminous and your mind sees this feels this begins to comprehend this hence you must never give up the idea of giving up is based on the ego comparing itself comparing aspects of itself to illusion not to that which is your truth you must never give up the idea of giving up is a waste of time your destiny here is to remember the pureness of your heart even if you cannot remember even if you are like the millions around you lost in the thoughts that are projected in this world the ego that is playing out its interesting games the many many interesting games you have you are blessed because you have the potential inside of you to play the game very differently and that is to come back to this moment to come back here to this moment through your breath through feeling through your thinking through your being and by doing the spiritual practice of meditation that is what happens by doing the spiritual practice of bringing up those qualities of goodness that st.

Kabir speaks about bringing that up in your heart that is what your heart remembers where energy goes your focus goes may those moments of remembrance be many in your spiritual practice be many in whatever you are doing don't judge yourself for being lost nurture yourself for remembering thank you

It's so easy to get lost in the conditioning that allows a false self image. Is there a way to teach the mind not to repeat negative mind chatter, which also affects negative actions toward one's self in addition to projecting that energy toward others, in addition to guided meditations?

I think the internally created space which appears once the monkey mind has separated and quieted down is more intimidating to us than the familiar chatter. I think training for space and preparation for the sensation of emptiness, and the feeling of 'what do I do now?' needs addressed. More time required on this one.
