When you're ready,

Just making sure that you find a comfortable position to relax into,

Making sure that your spine is not scrunched or not compromised in any way,

Just making sure that you're either sitting in an upright position or lying down in a comfortable position that allows you to breathe and naturally relax in a gentle but clear way.

So very often we forget that the posture is as important as our attitude.

It's very difficult to have an open-minded attitude if our posture is all fearful and closed and communicates this fear and sense of being closed in very physical ways.

It's important that we extend our awareness so that our body reflects the very same awareness that we are reaching out for.

This is so very often forgotten because we are so connected to our thoughts and we forget that part of the experience of being here on this earth is embodying ourselves in the communication of the body.

Doesn't mean that the body is more important than the mind.

Doesn't mean that the sensations that you experience through your physical body are more important than the thoughts that you're having in your mind.

Just means that if you negate one aspect of your experience,

Then the mind begins to feel lazy or begins to lose its focus or flow and connects to very limited perspectives of one's thinking.

So part of spiritual practice is awareness and awareness extended to all aspects of our incarnation,

Physical,

Mental,

Emotional,

Energetic.

So today just make sure that every time your thoughts take you to a place that is either limited in perspective,

Say you're thinking about fear or doubting your decision or losing yourself in the confusion or stress or anxiety of too many thoughts or too many confused thoughts.

And just make sure that you support the structure of awareness through the physical posture,

Through an awareness of your body,

Which of course then brings you back to an awareness of your heart.

Because the heart is a physical organ within your body.

Very much depends on your attitude,

Your physical attitude.

So if you go around and you forget to nurture your heart in a physical way,

Meaning to just be light and open and receptive to the natural healing flow that is around you.

If you forget to do this,

Then the heart tends to work too much.

The heart tends to work overtime because it's trying to analyze everything else and trying to understand everything else.

And some of those things don't need to be understood.

You don't need to really try to make sense out of a fearful attitude because the fear in itself doesn't make sense.

So if you're afraid,

Then there is no need to sort of fall into the trap of trying to make sense of the problem.

Because the problem isn't that you are free.

The problem is that you're caught by the situation that is pulling you into itself and creating more of a problem out of a problem that may be just received in that way.

Maybe even just a thought that comes into your mind that has nothing to do with this moment.

So it's very important to come back to being present and aware of what is happening right now in this moment.

This allows us to connect to what I call the second brain or the very core aspect of the brain,

The brain that developed before the neocortex.

This brain,

This part of the brain,

Depends very much on your attitude.

If your attitude is negative,

It tends to re-pattern everything,

Including your posture,

Including the way that you breathe,

Including even the way that you feel and think.

Becomes re-patterned in such a way where we are connected to what is known,

Old habits,

Old ways of seeing things.

It's very difficult to free oneself when the re-patterning is not only in one's thoughts,

But the re-patterning happens all over the place,

Even in this part of the brain that I call the second brain or the more primitive aspect of the brain.

Depends on the communication that is around in this moment,

Not what you are going to do tomorrow or how you felt yesterday,

But how you are in this moment.

If you are surrounding yourself with the re-patterning process that allows for the brain to perceive things in a negative way,

For example,

You are worried or you are thinking about the next moment because you haven't done enough yesterday or you feel that you need to do more tomorrow and all these confusions don't make sense to this part of the brain that then re-patterns the information that you are having,

Not just as specific problems that can be resolved,

But as an energy field because the second brain is very much connected to the nervous system,

To the spine.

So it perceives everything as an energy field in this moment.

So if you are in this moment connected to the negative that may even be just a fantasy or may be just born out of an attitude or a belief system,

Has nothing to do with reality,

Even so it becomes reality.

So it's very important that we learn or re-learn the communication,

The communication that is truly beneficial and truly useful in helping us to free ourselves into a space of not just awareness but positive awareness so that the energy flow from the heart allows the positivity of being to be experienced on all levels,

Not just as a thought that may happen sometime in the future but right now in this present moment,

This means that we just rest into,

We come back into a restful,

Comfortable attitude that allows us to know that we are home,

We are here.

It's nice if you are home to make sure that you are comfortable.

You don't want to be home if there is all sorts of mess and confusion around the place.

You want to create a structure or a space,

An atmosphere that second brain or this more ancient part of the brain understands as comfortable.

And the only communication that this part of the brain understands as comfortable is a positive one.

As soon as you create a negative,

It begins to re-pattern that negative pattern everywhere else.

So then you are not just facing the thought that you may realize is,

Oh I'm just afraid it's not really that important.

You are not only facing that,

You begin to face the consequences of the re-patterning within yourself as a major problem.

The brain then is immediately set into motion,

This part of the brain,

The primitive brain is already set in motion and sets in motion a re-patterning process that begins to see things from a negative perspective.

If there is no joy and happiness in being at home within this space,

Within this moment,

Then the re-patterning happens.

This is why spiritual practice truly is very complex.

It's not just sort of a lottery game where you hope that you might win the lotto or whatever it is that people buy tickets for and you are just sort of hoping that your luck will change and that you'll win something.

It doesn't work like this.

It's much more complex.

Everything that we do creates a reaction.

Every little energy that we put into our awareness,

Into the energy flow,

Into the focus of what we are doing creates a reaction and that reaction may not be understood as it happens because the re-patterning process is happening on such a very basic level,

That part of the brain that we don't understand because it's more instinctual,

It's more habitual,

It's more reactive,

But the consequences become understood later on,

Much later on.

So very often we only realize that our posture is communicating fear.

When we reach a point where we realize,

Oh gosh,

I'm so stiff or my body posture is so bad,

What am I doing?

Then you realize,

Oh,

It's not what am I doing,

I've been doing something for such a long time that it creates a habit.

This is what the re-patterning does,

Creates a habit and the habit only becomes understood when it gets so very negative that it speaks to you in a language that grabs your attention and you say,

Oh gosh,

Let me straighten up or oh gosh,

I need a massage or oh gosh,

I need to let go of these worries that it's creating too much confusion.

The re-patterning can be prevented before you get to this point.

This is why meditation is so crucial.

Awareness isn't about being aware of this stage of development where the communication is very much more the language of re-patterning rather than the language of joy or bliss.

Awareness is not about understanding the problem.

Awareness is about coming back to this moment and embracing it from this moment.

This means that you drop all sorts of judgments,

All sorts of expectations,

All sorts of future perspectives.

You come back to the natural flow that originates within the heart.

This doesn't mean that you have to change your thoughts.

You don't know,

Oh,

I'm thinking in a negative way now or oh gosh,

I'm beginning to re-pattern in a negative way.

You don't have to fight yourself because notice as soon as you come back to the natural flow that originates from the heart,

Then you are present to this moment,

Not the one that you think you need to change.

When you're present to this moment,

You come to a restful space.

You can allow this moment to flow in its natural healing and natural positive way without interference.

The interference is what creates constrictions.

Interference of energy within this second brain or within this primitive brain which actually extends down your spine.

As soon as you begin to constrict your body,

As soon as you begin to tense because of the thoughts that you're having but you tense in a physical way,

Then the blood flow and the energy flow doesn't actually allow for the second brain to sense that you are at home,

That you're comfortable,

That you can relax,

That you can let go.

It begins to notice that things aren't right.

And so when this happens,

The communication can't be changed by battling with the communication that's causing the problem.

You can't say,

Oh gosh,

I need to change because as soon as you begin to think another thought,

The already overwhelmed part of your body which is this primitive brain that says,

Oh there is fear or there is something wrong here or there is a negative that I need to sort out,

Is set in,

You've already set this into motion and it is,

This part of the brain is saying,

Okay,

Let's repattern,

Prepare for fight or flight,

Prepare for some difficult situation and you're already tense,

You're already reactive,

You're already in a state where the natural flow that comes from within joy and bliss,

From within the heart,

It's not listened to because there is a more urgent situation that needs your attention.

And so to come back to the natural flow that comes from within this peaceful still point that is here in this moment simply means that we need to unlearn some of those happening communications that have been somehow integrated into our physical body as stress or anxiety or into our thoughts as negativity or just pessimism or doubt or judgment or whatever and come back to a natural flow.

The natural flow can be just relaxing your body and feeling the bliss of being within your physical body just as a letting go process.

Sometimes it's just blissful to let go of tension.

Oh,

I don't need to hold on to that.

You can relax.

It's blissful.

Try it.

Today as you go and interact with different situations in your life and just try,

Oh,

Let go.

I don't need to worry so much.

Let go.

I don't need to hold on to that tension so much.

Just notice that then the natural flow of joy and happiness,

The bliss that comes from within the heart is much more present in the field of awareness that you are extending now into that which is going on for you,

Into the experience that's happening for you.

When the heart connects to an experience,

Then awareness expands far beyond just that part of the body that is holding on to the negative perspective or the consequence of the negative perspective.

You free yourself and this is why communication then extends from beyond being self-centered,

Beyond being just occupied with the situation that may cause the self pain or suffering to realizing that the world is a beautiful place.

It's here,

Present,

In a beautiful way.

When you let go in that way where you're not holding on to the constriction or not holding on to this fight or flight mechanism that's inbuilt into the second brain or the primitive brain,

Then that brain can relax and say,

Oh,

Let me just enjoy this moment because I'm at home.

I'm relaxed.

I'm here,

Present.

There's nothing to worry about.

You begin to change the repatterning process and highlight to this part of your physical body which has helped us in an evolutionary way,

Has helped us to discern situations,

To run from them when they're dangerous and to survive these situations.

It's a very important aspect of our understanding,

But we don't need to trigger the fear mechanism for every little thing,

Every little thought that happens in our brain.

We only need to worry if we're,

For example,

Cooking and we pour some hot water over our fingers and,

Oh,

Ouch,

And we quickly have to address it.

It's not like,

Oh,

I'll worry about that tomorrow.

I have too many things to do.

I have the food.

It's burning.

No,

You address it.

Some people don't even do that,

But that's the reason for that part of the brain,

To address it and then say,

Okay,

That's dealt with.

Back to enjoying life.

We need to help you.

So it's an important aspect of our awareness,

But as soon as awareness loses touch with the natural flow that's from within the heart and begins to see life from this perspective,

Oh,

I might burn myself,

I might do this to myself,

Or I might do that to myself,

We become so self-centered and the fear creates this sort of energy bubble within our spine that moves us into,

Oh,

I'm so afraid of the world.

I'm so afraid of experience because I'm afraid of burning myself or hurting myself or whatever to myself and we're so self-focused that we forget that the heart cannot communicate to the self from such a negative perspective and the heart falls into losing,

It loses hope.

It loses the hope that there is a possibility of freeing oneself because the heart cannot communicate to a negative self.

The heart can only communicate to the self that is positive,

Positive,

Meaning that awareness extends and flows from within,

From beyond the self into the space of experience in an open and free way.

So today,

Let go of those things that create doubt or suffering and just come back to being aware of this moment,

Breathing in,

Breathing out,

You notice any tension or constrictions in the body,

Blissfully allowing them to just dissipate in such a way where you're just open and free,

Just like your breath,

Breathing in deeply,

Letting go,

Letting go and breathing in more deeply.

So wonderful,

This awareness flows from the heart,

So wonderful because then the breath naturally becomes more relaxed,

Becomes almost as if your body supports you and your body is connected to you in such a way where the positive healing energy now begins to communicate to all parts of your body including this part of the brain that is so easily caught in re-patting negative thoughts or negative feelings into a physical situation,

Into part of its structure.

So you are slowly,

Gently transforming this very crucial part of yourself into trust,

Into sense of openness,

Relaxing,

You are at home,

You are at home with your breath,

You are at home here connected to the positive communication within your heart,

There is nothing to fear,

There is nothing to worry about.

In this moment,

All is perfect.

So as you breathe in and breathe out,

Allow this natural flow from the heart to continue throughout your day.

Nothing to do,

Nothing to struggle with or nothing to try to change,

Just come back to the realization that you are home.

You breathe in and breathe out,

Let go,

Come back home.

Thank you.

I get it...it is not necessarily what is happening inthe world that creates the negative response in my body and continues into fear/sadness. I can notice and then breathe telling my 2nd brain it is safe and then there is no need for it to create an energy field that attracts unwanted experiences. Now, this is important.
