Go a little bit deeper into the practice or maybe not.
Maybe it's not such a wonderful day.
That's the mind speaking.
It's a wonderful day to continue with the practice,
Spiritual practice and meditation and to just celebrate being alive.
Maybe not,
Says the mind.
What's the purpose of being alive?
If I'm not even alive?
Is there anything,
Is there a meaning in life?
I can't see it,
I can't feel it.
What's the purpose?
You know,
And then the tone starts getting heavier,
You know.
I don't know if the tone inside of your head starts getting heavier,
But whenever you communicate the situation to others or to the world,
Then it's like this.
You can almost hear that really there is no celebration,
There is no obvious purpose to celebrate and be happy about whatever it is.
So there is this heaviness that is very interesting to observe,
But it's not very interesting really when it's part of your personality or attitude because then it really becomes complex to be discerning or to even be able to notice with awareness,
To notice what is truly going on because the mind is creating its own substance.
The mind is creating its own information that it chooses to focus upon.
There is lots of information out there,
But this computer,
The mind,
Is programmed to think about certain things in a certain way and so then it produces that information in that way.
And it's easy to understand if that's how the mind is working or the computer or the mechanism or the structure is working,
Then it's easy to understand that it's an almost daunting impossibility to be free.
How can you be free of that which is absolutely unable to even begin to understand what freedom means?
Anyone who says spiritual practice is easy doesn't understand anything.
There are some people,
Including myself,
You know,
I always say well it's easy,
Sit just and relax and breathe in and breathe out and all will flow.
Do I know anything?
I mean what am I talking about?
Everyone breathes in and part of breathing in is breathing in and breathing out.
I mean that's just a fact of breathing.
It would be very difficult to breathe in a different way,
But you know is it as easy as just breathing in and breathing out?
Let me try.
Do you want to try now and see if that helps?
So you breathe in and you breathe out,
But it's not really helping because the mind is still there in the background creating that information that is colouring and creating the attitude of there is nothing worth celebrating.
So you're breathing in and breathing out and just reinforcing the substance which is creating a state of attachment to pain and suffering or addiction to pain and suffering.
So people then say to me,
Are you serious?
You're saying that I'm addicted to my suffering and that I actually enjoy my suffering?
I say yes.
People can get very upset when these pointers are highlighted in this way,
Can get very upset and say things like it's not going to work.
People are so upset that I'm fairly sure that this is the reason why the transmission isn't working at the moment.
Yeah,
I know you can't hear anything,
The recording works,
But I know you can't hear anything because that's what happens.
There is a build-up of energy and see how strong the energy was,
It already wiped out the connection.
So let us reconnect and see if you'll be able to listen to the transmission from that deeper state of wisdom.
Little pauses are very important because sometimes those little pauses actually help us to integrate what is going on or help us to create a coherence out of the information that we are focused and attached to and just a coherence out of the experience of such information.
So as I was explaining before,
People get upset when it's pointed out that their mind is very addictive,
But that is the nature of the mind.
It is addictive.
It's not just you or just me or that person over there,
It's everyone.
The human mind is very addicted to everything and that everything can include the negative.
We know this in neuroscience today that the mind is addicted to all sorts of negativities because that's basically the structure that developed throughout so-called evolution.
The mind has this process that we understand today in term as the negative bias and has this ability to resolve problems logically and otherwise.
We know that if there is an addiction of some sorts,
That that addiction becomes the information that the mind is processing and experiencing in this moment or understanding to be the reality that it needs to navigate through.
So we know that unless you were born just a happy chappy and just everything is good and it's raining,
It's wonderful,
It's stormy,
It's wonderful,
You lost your house,
Ah that's great,
You lost your job,
You've been fired,
Wow super,
People are putting you down,
You're making you feel all silly and whatever,
Wonderful,
I love that,
It's a chance to grow and learn.
If you're that type of person,
Well then you're one of a kind.
There are a few who are positive in that way,
I've met a few of those people usually because they have already worked through their structure or what is known in mystical traditions as their karma or their stuff as it's known in psychology or their process as we like to call it sometimes and you know it just they're not attached to the stuff or the karma or the process,
They're free.
They have to be fairly enlightened to be able to experience life in that way and so some people somehow are born slightly more enlightened than others,
You know,
They're born smiling and others are born crying,
The baby cries you know and that's the way it communicates to the world,
I'm not happy,
Something is wrong here,
Can you help me or can something change so that I can help you?
So that's the way it communicates or can something change so that I can help change this feeling or this sensation or this reality that I'm thinking about or experiencing and usually the world is such a beautiful compassionate place that it does provide all sorts of help in different ways but the problem is a problem when you're focused on the problem and the help is just getting in the way so you know if you're say you know you if you've been in a situation like this I'm sure you have where you're so stressed and all you need to do is just for a moment integrate the information that's being communicated that means go beyond the stress but you can't because you're not aware of it because the stress is somehow created such a momentum within yourself that the storm or the whatever noise outside is creating a momentum that you're caught within that you are so part of that you can't you can't just step off and say well that's my stress over there see you later you have to actually take a step and breathe deeply breathe deeply so that the momentum in your mind slows down and when it slows down and you become more still in this way then it's obvious to the mind that it's creating a situation it's obvious to the mind for example that it's creating a lot of stress even if justified the mind is creating the stress because it's your thoughts I'll miss the train I'm missing the train I've missed the train you know that creates stress or I'm not sure that I can manage all this right now and a part of you just stresses and you can't just say to that part of yourself that stresses that that is just my addictive mind even though it is the stress is created by the addictive mind because it has chosen to focus on a realm of experience that it believes to be is impossible that the mind and your whole being your awareness of the situation believes that to be impossible to change in that moment so actually part of being addicted or seeing things or understanding the world in a negative way is the fact that you don't trust that it can be differently it can it can manifest differently it can manifest differently than what it is manifesting at the moment that's a huge realization in your practice you you that which is preventing you the transformation for example letting go of the stress is your belief that that stress cannot be changed and if you try to change it that's going to be even more stressful because that adds another thing for your mind to think about and already it's overwhelmed or burdened by say you're missing the train or some sort of emotional turmoil that's happening and you're stressed you're anxious about the situation and you can't handle another situation as if someone like me or some funny wise person says to you it's your lack of trust then the stress just creates this momentum that explodes inside of yourself you try to keep it calm and you try to be polite and you try to smile oh thank you so much for letting me know that i love you so much but it's not exactly the real communication that's happening inside of yourself you're just about to that's the only thing that about to that's that last straw that you know you just didn't need in that moment but that's the fact that's the reality of the situation so if we pretend it away if we just say oh you know i'll help myself to a sugary um sweet because sugar of course is part of the addictive behavior destructive addictive behavior which allows for that destructive behavior to be managed in the moment and be managed or somehow you feel like you're managing this is why people constantly in in stressful situations drinking coffee to stay awake and eating all sorts of sugary stuff to to keep the energy flowing because it takes a lot of energy especially out of the brain to be stressed you need that energy to keep going otherwise you you just sort of collapse onto your bed and you it's very difficult to collapse onto your bed and say i'm totally exhausted from my own stress can you believe i need to rest here because i'm tired myself out the mind doesn't think like that the mind says no way i want more of this you know this makes me feel good it's like it's like the addict saying i know this is bad for me so the mind says go for the sugar keep going then you can get more of the same doesn't stop in that huge avalanche of of the momentum that is almost unstoppable it doesn't just stop there and say okay i've understood it i can trust i can trust the possibility the fact that you're stressed means that you cannot see cannot see anything means that what you're looking at is an impossibility the fact that you're stressed it means that you are not coherent in your thinking you're not coherent in the communication that's happening between your mind and your feelings emotional aspects of understanding reality the amygdala within the brain just it's too much can't deal with the situation it can't handle the situation anymore so it shuts off says that's enough and then the stress has to go elsewhere it goes into your body your muscles your face your voice and when you've done this many many many times it's when depression sets in it's when this attitude that is highlighted in the words of i give up it's impossible doesn't matter i've done it all before and it just doesn't work so then trust is not only lacking but the lack of trust is justified by the mind in that moment or your feelings in that moment and given the energy that it can't receive from the vibrancy of life because the justification gives it the life force to continue it's very complex to explain this in words but i'm sure you understand you know so it's the justifications and they are real the mind is caught in that information or that structure that is creating the information which of course that information is real but it's only a minute part of reality it's only the program that the computer is running on at the moment it is real yes that computer program is real but it's not reality the justifications can never be justified from reality so when you say to the person or the people well your justification makes no sense because it's not based on reality so well of course it is and then they explain and they take a lot of time to explain and you know because justification needs a lot of philosophical explanations you know and if you don't understand they highlight it in a different way and they never tire of explaining the the information in this way you listen to an addict you know speak about their pain and suffering they never tire of it it's constant it's like a record that plays over and over and over and over again and of course one has to feel compassionate for such but it's the same record and of course you know you the person communicating this stuff never tires of this stuff because you're addicted to it and that's what keeps you going but people around you can be very tiring listen to what mystics say and begin to trust and then another justification comes up because you know anyone who's addicted doesn't just have one or two justifications as to why the addiction is real their whole life is the justification everything they do everything they think every breath that they take even the breathing doesn't work so when i say breathe in and breathe out you're not breathing in or breathing out you're breathing in and breathing out the justification not the potential that is life you're not breathing into the space you're breathing into your thought so people sit there and they say okay i'm breathing in and out then the mind is chit chat chit chat chit chat problem problem problem and you're breathing in and breathing out what are you doing you're hypnotizing yourself to believe that this problem is even more real so after the meditation people say well the world is a horrible place i better do something about it then they get very excited i'm going to change the world i'm going to change myself i'm going to as soon as you say i am going to you know that you're not aligned to your truth you know that it's just another picture i'm going to be famous i'm going i'm going to be the best i'm going to be this i'm going to be that i want to be why can't you be yourself oh no that's not what i want to be i want to be something better i want to be something nicer i don't like that part of myself okay i can let go of the justifications and and i can let go of that part of myself but i want a better self to replace it and if i don't get a better self then i'm going to get really badly depressed about the whole situation and that's what happens because the honoring doesn't move in an alignment with reality the honoring of yourself is just an honoring of the picture that your mind is creating as a better self or as a nicer aspect to aim for then the excitement is still the same addiction can you not see it's still the same addiction so the picture that you've created is created out of that same program the program is creating a nice picture but it's still the same it's still the same justification as to why that picture is more valid than reality and reality is yourself the real not the self that you want to be or you're trying to be so it's a bit of a complex situation that we're facing and again we're interrupted because here lies a very important perspective of spiritual practice as soon as you come close to the truth of your being as soon as you acknowledge the real the real that's within you and the unreal needs to be let go of and that's a work and it's easier to be an addict than to let go of that which is not true and has been easier throughout the ages throughout our evolution so to change all that to change and allow for a deeper connection to your potential the potential that is really you in this moment not that which you want or desire or need or whatever else the mind plays games with but that which is really you requires you requires your presence right now in this moment and that is a work that is the real spiritual work so as you breathe in and breathe out notice perhaps the mind justifying its addiction or its little game or its little projection or its little belief system as important then remember your presence is more important breathing in and breathing out letting go thank you you

Why it is so hard for some of us de nous foutre la paix. Why the mind is so powerful and so hard to understand and detach from, as the source of all negativity that has been re enforced since the beginning. Merci Tony
