As you breathe in and breathe out,

Letting go of all the little things that sometimes take up too much time,

All the little things that sometimes occupy the space of stillness within by creating busy thoughts or demands or all sorts of little situations that take you away from this space of equanimity,

This state of equanimity.

Just making sure your posture is relaxed and your body structure is upright,

So the back is straight and the shoulders are back.

The breath,

Moving deeply into the abdomen,

Relaxing the diaphragm and making sure that when you breathe in the breath is just natural and flowing,

There is no effort or there is no constriction that creates subtle efforts in your activity or breathing.

Just like thoughts,

Sometimes there are little thoughts that are happening in the background that take up the space,

So there is no space for stillness or equanimity because the space is already busy with little things that sometimes we don't even realize we're focused and caught by all those little things that sometimes create more demands and more energy loss than we realize.

We only realize that these things are there because we get to a state where we realize we're not in stillness or we're not in a state of equanimity,

We're agitated by such activities that create stress and anxiety.

So just by bringing awareness to this space that is here,

This space of your body manifestation,

The space of the flow that happens within your breathing,

The space of your emotional body,

The space of your mental body,

The space of your energetic body,

The space of your subtle body.

There are so many dimensions to your being.

Just by bringing awareness to these dimensions and these manifestations,

Then it becomes clear that there is no need to be caught or there is no need to be immersed into,

Immersing your,

There is no need to immerse yourself into one aspect of your experience.

You can open your experience through awareness and just be present to the many aspects of yourself,

The many manifestations of your being.

But presence doesn't mean that you are simply aware of what is going on,

Like the breath.

You're present to your breathing,

Which makes it easier to be here in this moment and addressing that which is real in this moment.

But just being present to your breath doesn't always help.

Sometimes there is a conscious activity that is required to help transmit information that your body understands is more useful in this moment than the stresses or the anxieties that very often become a reflection of our state of consciousness,

Reflection of the limited state of consciousness that we're receiving and the world through or experiencing the world through.

So stress is interesting and can be very useful and anxiety and pain also very interesting and can be very useful.

It's a mode of communication that if we are aware that this communication is taking place then we can listen more.

So the activity that I'm speaking about,

This level of consciousness that you bring into your practice,

Is not about doing or getting somewhere,

But it's more about listening and being receptive to the information that is within the experience,

Whatever the experience may be.

There is no need to judge the experience,

There is no need to hope or dream about a better experience because all that is reactive,

All that is just a reaction to a perception that you believe to be reality.

So it's a sort of game that has no basis because the foundation of that game is just an illusion,

It has nothing to do with what is truly going on.

What is truly going on is that on a very deep level there is communication happening and the communication becomes relevant when you listen,

When you are receptive to the information that's being transmitted within this communication.

Otherwise the communication just becomes another noise that creates stress and anxiety.

Can you imagine you're having to listen to people and you're having to listen to your social structure and cultural belief system and limited belief system and your thoughts and your feelings and your perceptions of that moment and then there is another aspect that you have to listen to,

The spiritual.

It's just going to create stress because you'll be trying to fulfill all these demands that this illusion creates within yourself,

That you have to react to these activities in a certain way and create certain structures in your spiritual practice or in your emotional relationship or in your physical relationship to the world or in your mental relationship to the world and another demand isn't what I'm asking you to do,

It's not what your heart is asking you to do,

Rather your heart is saying receive the information but from a perspective of consciousness.

So receptivity isn't just about listening,

Okay I have to listen to another aspect of myself.

That's a lot of work.

Some people when sitting in meditation or even working with me will say I really don't have time for this because I'm so busy and the expression of communication in that moment is that spirituality is another thing that one has to do and requires the same sort of activity as that activity that we are relating to within the mundane illusion that I call the Maya.

So if you're relating to your mind by having always to keep up with your thoughts and keep up with your demands and feelings and expectations and other people's expectations and you're running,

Running and then you add another demand to that expectation that you have to be perfect then the communication about perfection that truly is deep within yourself doesn't get heard because you are constantly chasing this illusionary dream,

Illusionary perspective of reality that has nothing to do with the communication.

Communication is much more subtle hence why it's important to let go.

So you become aware of everything around you,

Become aware of your breath but you let go of the need to control your breath,

Become aware of your perceptions of the world but you let go of your need to hold on to those perceptions as the only picture of reality.

They're there to help you receive more profound,

More meaningful,

More interesting communication than just reflecting upon that which is on the surface.

So it doesn't mean you have to now go deeper and begin to sort of dig in the muddy darkness of the subconscious mind and try to find out the reasons why and the reasons how and the reasons when and whatever that sometimes becomes part of the spiritual practice or part of spiritual practice that is awareness,

Mindfulness is that we put too much effort in looking and that looking becomes so very focused on just perceiving that which is on the surface that the looking misses the quality of communication that's there.

So it's like the sunset,

If you look at the sunset and you say wow that's a great color and you're just focused on the one color what about the rest of the communication that's happening?

What about the experience?

What about your heart being touched by the colors?

What about the information that is being transmitted as an experience within this moment that you are aware of the sunset?

So if you're just looking for the colors,

Say you're a photographer which is fine,

You're really focused on certain aspects of the sunset that's fine and you know this and you know that that's important for you in that moment to understand certain aspect of reality just as it's important to think,

It's important to feel,

It's important to sleep,

It's important to eat,

It's important to do all sorts of things but if that becomes the meaning of your life,

If eating becomes the meaning of your life,

If thinking becomes the meaning or mode of an experience that your life is limited to and you miss out on the communication that is profound in that moment and you are more than your mind,

You're more than your feelings and you are more than your body,

You are something that is in this moment being discovered and if you keep looking out there to the next moment or to the picture that the mind creates which is embedded into the next moment simply because in this moment there is a timeless dimension that your heart understands,

Then the next moment is all that you are receptive to and then you follow your thoughts,

Follow your feelings,

Follow your needs and desires,

Follow people's expectations because you are always embedded,

Your consciousness,

Your awareness is always embedded in the next moment rather than being here present to a heartfelt space of consciousness.

So this deeper flow of meditation of being here simply means that as you breathe in now and you breathe out there is no effort in your activity,

There is a space or a state of equanimity.

Equanimity simply means that you are not disturbed by the flows or the energies of your experience because you're anchored here in this moment deep within,

No need to look or where that space is just deep within you know,

Deep inside your heart knows right here right now that communication is expanding the state of consciousness that you are now embracing,

Expanding beyond the limitations of mental concepts,

Expanding beyond just simple feelings,

Expanding beyond bodily experiences,

Expanding to the infinity that is in this moment.

So as you breathe in and breathe out continue today and whatever you're doing continue to just be aware,

Present but anchored at the same time deep within this beautiful space that you're connecting to now and if the world,

The mundane world begins to challenge you or create stress or anxiety remember you can always sit for a moment,

Close your eyes wherever you are,

Breathe in and remind yourself that there is more than what your perception is aware of,

There is more going on inside of you than what the world shows you at this moment.

There is this space here that you can connect to,

The state of equanimity is constantly present within your heart as you breathe in and breathe out,

The state of deep stillness,

Gentle breath.

Thank you.

This meditation gave me a place of peace, acceptance, and happiness in the midst of my heartbreak from a mass shooting in my community and raging wildfires causing my family and friends to evacuate our homes. Thank you very much🙏🏻 may all beings be always aware that we are much more than what may seem to be on the surface 🌎❤️

Great! Thank you. It was very hard for me to show up today. I decided to try with a guided meditation and chose this one. Not dissapointed. Ended up crying for 15 minutes, which is very good. I had so much emotional baggage with me that I've now released! Thank you again! Namaste.
