Hello and welcome.
That's great to have you all here.
So the first chakra is the Muladhara.
This is the earth chakra or the root chakra.
So it's associated with earth and it's the color ochre red.
Remember is that don't get fixated on a specific color because you will experience it differently than I will or anybody else.
And it goes beyond words but we're trying to put words to all of this.
It's also associated with the adrenal glands and the nerve plexus.
The supplies are anus and genitals.
It's associated with smell.
So if you've ever lost your sense of smell,
Maybe there was some damage to of course you know your nose.
But if unexpectedly you've lost your sense of smell,
There could be something going on in the root chakra.
It's also associated with survival and our connection and a sense of belonging.
When we have an excessive root chakra,
We tend to hoard,
We are greedy,
And we feel sluggish.
When we are deficient in this chakra,
We have fear.
We are ignorant and our survival is threatened.
And sometimes this chakra is deficient because of ancestral trauma.
And when this chakra is balanced,
We feel secure,
We feel stable,
And we feel calm.
It's also associated with the feet and the bandha,
The bandha you're familiar with,
You know the mula bandha.
There's also a bandha in the foot and there's a bandha in the roof of your mouth.
So the bandha and the foot,
Our feet are associated with this chakra.
Let's go ahead and get started on our meditation.
So get comfortable.
Your feet planted on the earth.
Your eyes can be open or closed.
The seed syllable with the root chakra is lam.
So in a moment,
We'll start to feel that vibration of lam.
But I want you to just bring your attention into the root chakra at the base of your spine,
The perineal area,
Sort of that triangular area,
And bring in the color red or ochre red,
Earth red.
I like to think about it.
And just imagine kind of the swirling vortex of this color as you bring your breath into this area,
Feeling the contact of the support at the base of your spine.
And continue to direct your breath downward.
So as you breathe in,
You're drawing that breath in and down to the very base of your being.
And as you breathe out,
You're letting it arise from the base of your being as you feel your feet connected deeply to the earth.
Now I'd like for you to imagine the smell of a pine bark or maybe there's another earth smell you bring in.
So as you bring in the smell of pine bark,
Let that smell draw into your roots and feel the roots extending downward.
Feel the roots of the tree,
Of your tree,
Extending downward as you bring in the smell of earth or of pine.
Feeling stability,
Feeling grounded,
Feeling the broad base of your roots.
And feel yourself connected to the natural world through the soles of your feet,
Through your roots.
Sense the rhythm of your breath.
Feel the pulsation of life and the bounties of the earth.
The earth provides shelter,
Food,
Nourishment,
Connection.
And now bring in the sound lam and we'll just repeat it several times and feel it at the base of your body,
Broad,
Extending outward and downward.
Lam,
Lam,
Lam,
Lam,
Lam,
Lam,
Lam,
Lam,
Lam,
Lam,
Lam,
Feel the vibration.
Few more times lahm lahm lahm lahm lahm And now just feel the vibration in your body feeling and sensing This as light as vibration I am safe I am grounded I am here I am safe I am grounded I am here I am safe I am grounded I am here I am safe I am safe Don't forget to let your mask on As you press your eyes as weWay your hands back down We will focus on our Psychiatrists And if your eyes were closed go ahead and lift your gaze lift your gaze maybe a little rolling of the shoulders movement of the hands the wrists and the feet Namaste.
