Ajna chakra, known as the third eye, also called the seat of the soul, is located at the pineal gland and is associated with sensory input, specifically light. It is located at the midbrain and associated with the color indigo purple/blue. Awaken to clairvoyance with illumination and clarity. Break free of hidden patterns as we chant Aum with the Shruti box to awaken the Ajna Chakra. This is day 20 of 21 days of developing ones own practice. May be practiced independently to awaken clear seeing

The Ajna Chakra is commonly known as the third eye.

And a lot of times you'll see it referred to as the place just between the brow.

But really technically it's at the center of the head,

Midbrain more,

Where the pineal gland is.

And the pineal gland is a tiny about the size of a pea gland that's responsible for melatonin,

That's responsible for our sleep.

And this pineal gland is also referred to as the cave of Brahma.

It's also referred to,

Renee Descartes described it as the seat of the soul.

So we've moved from the throat of clairvoyance,

To now the brow chakra of clairvoyance,

Of clear seeing now.

So,

And the pineal gland receives light.

We take,

75% of our impressions are taken through the eyes and we need light,

Right,

To be able to see.

So I hope that today's practice will help you see the light,

Literally.

So the Ajna center,

The brow,

Is associated with dreams,

It's associated with our intuition,

With wisdom,

The ability to think in abstract thoughts and it certainly is associated with the lower chakras,

So,

Or the earthly chakras.

So as above,

So below,

Intuition is also associated with the sacral chakra.

So we're getting these two connected.

And so when it's balanced,

We have clear dreams,

We can see clearly,

We're creative,

We are able to experience our dreams,

Maybe even interact with our dreams,

We're able to see things abstractly,

And we have good memory,

That's another component of this,

Good memory recall,

And able to visualize.

When we are deficient in this chakra,

Poor memory,

Poor vision,

Difficulty thinking about the future kind of gets stuck in the past.

We can balance it with either the visual arts,

With meditation.

This is actually a beginning of pratyahara as we go into the next stage of meditation,

Into the crown chakra.

So this is kind of the portal,

Shall we say,

Of really meditation is where we're at,

Or where we strive to be.

We have,

Like I said,

Clairvoyance as clear scene,

So not only inner sight,

But really shining the light on what is really there and breaking free of patterns.

This is what we hope to begin to accomplish today in today's practice,

Is starting to break free and to recognize those patterns that kind of are hidden,

Right?

So it's okay to have a feeling of being in darkness and that the light will illuminate eventually.

So go ahead and get comfortable and just taking a few moments to just clear the breath and maybe close the eyes.

In fact,

Let's rub our hands together and cup your eyes with your hands.

So start to withdraw your senses.

This is the pratyahara,

The act of withdrawing the senses.

So eyes closed,

Hands cupped over those eyes so that we reduce the external stimuli and we go inward.

The eyes are bombarded oftentimes with so much unnatural light that it's important that we take in natural light and then give them a break since we're looking at computers a lot these days as well.

So go ahead and release your hands now to your lap.

Your palms can stay open in that cupped position and a receptive position.

And know that you are safe and it's okay to have your eyes closed,

Just letting the inner light shine.

And you can bring your attention to the midbrain.

We'll draw the breath in through the nose.

Let it wash over the brow in the midbrain,

Down the back of the throat,

Down the spine to the tailbone.

And then drawing the breath back up the tailbone,

Past the throat,

Midbrain,

Brow and out through the nose.

So continue your natural breathing.

And we'll welcome in now the sound of om.

And what I'd like for you to think about is the om traveling from the base of the spine to the roof of the mouth,

Hitting the midbrain.

And maybe the tip of your tongue is at the,

Just where the teeth and the gum line meet.

So you can join me in om or you can just feel the vibration.

Closing the lips at the end of the om,

The teeth touching.

Right?

Aum Now begin to feel that bright vibration resonating through your being and begin to visualize the color indigo bluish purple at the midbrain You can continue the sound of Aum if you like And now I'd like to bring in a visualization In this blue light at the midbrain,

Imagine a mountain lake and your thoughts,

Your mind,

Are like the ripples on the lake caused by the wind and the calmer and the quieter that our thoughts become,

The calmer the surface of the mountain lake becomes So instead of rippling,

The mind becomes quiet,

Placid,

Like a high mounted lake in the evening and the moonlight reflecting upon its surface and when we look in closely,

Peering into the surface of the lake,

We can actually see quite deep into the surface,

Or into the bottom of the lake and as we peer over it,

We actually can see our own reflection,

The moonlight bathing Sit quiet in the calm waters,

In the calm of your mind,

To be receptive,

To be open,

To receive the light of the moon and stay present with your breath,

Stay present with any sensations that are arising,

Causing disturbances on the surface of the lake without forcing anything,

There might be a warm breeze or a cool breeze that causes a little ripple,

Like the waves of our mind,

Fluctuating up and down arising and falling,

Illuminating and experience the clarity,

The wisdom,

The steadiness,

The calm.

You you and now Let's do one om together you clear the breath and Go ahead and lift your gaze and welcome in now the light the sights in the room Take in some good light nourish your eyes with your hands namaste
