
Yoga Nidra With AUM!

YogaNidra with AUM - This deep yoganidra session explains and then takes us on a deep journey to use the secret of the mantra OM, acutally pronouned AUM, to guide us from the waking state to the deep spiritual consiousness of the dreamless yoga nidra state.

Let's do now a yoga nidra session with a mantra AUM.
As the Mandukya Upanishad tells us,
The mantra OM or AUM is made of four parts.
A,
U,
N and an unsung part.
And these four parts correspond to the four states of consciousness.
A corresponds to wakefulness.
U corresponds to dream.
N corresponds to the dreamless sleep which is the state of yoga nidra.
And that part which is unsaid corresponds to the state of turya,
The state beyond states.
In this meditation we will allow AUM to guide us from the waking state in which we are now into the dreamless state.
This meditation is best listened to with headphones.
So let's begin.
Lie down on your mat in either Shavasana,
The corpse position,
Or the Tibetan lying position.
If you choose to lie in Shavasana,
Lie on your back,
The legs slightly apart at the width of the hips,
The arms to the sides of the body,
The palms are facing upwards.
If you have lower back pains,
You can use some cushions underneath your knees.
And you can have a small cushion underneath your head,
But I recommend to do this lying completely flat on a mat if you can.
If you choose the lying position,
Then men should lie on their right side with the left up and closing their right nostril and slightly bending the legs.
Women should perform it lying on the left side with their right side up and closing the left nostril.
Let's practice now the 61-point relaxation.
During this process,
We need to remain aware.
As we shift the attention between the points,
Just make sure that you stay with your body,
That you don't follow thoughts,
And that you don't drift into sleep.
Alright,
Let's start.
We bring our attention to the first point,
Which is the point between the eyebrows.
Feel as if there is a relaxing vibration emanating from this point,
Relaxing the rest of your face.
Bring your attention now to the second point,
The throat center,
And feel the relaxing vibrations it emanates.
Bring your attention now to the third point,
The right shoulder,
And keep your attention here.
Bring now your attention to the fourth point,
Inside of the right elbow,
And feel the relaxing vibrations it emanates.
Bring your attention now to the fifth point,
Inside of the right wrist.
Bring your attention now to the sixth point,
The right thumb tip,
The seventh point,
Right first fingertip,
Eighth point,
Right middle fingertip.
Feel the relaxing vibrations it emanates.
Ninth point,
Right ring fingertip,
Tenth point,
The right pinky tip,
The eleventh point,
Inside right wrist.
Bring your attention now to the twelfth point,
Inside the right elbow.
Shift your attention now to the thirteenth point,
The right shoulder.
The fourteenth point,
Again the throat center.
The fifteenth point,
The left shoulder.
Shift your attention to the sixteenth point,
Inside left elbow.
Feel as if there is a point of relaxing energy entering into your elbow and your upper arm.
Shift your attention to the seventeenth point,
The inside left wrist.
Feel the relaxation emanating from this point.
Shift your attention to the eighteenth point,
The left thumb tip,
The nineteenth point,
Left first fingertip.
Feel vibrations emanating from the tip of the finger into the rest of the finger and the palm as well.
Twentieth point,
Left middle fingertip,
Twenty-first point,
The left ring fingertip.
Twenty-second point,
Left pinky tip,
Twenty-third point,
Back to the inside left wrist.
The twenty-fifth point,
The left shoulder again.
And the twenty-sixth point,
Back to the throat center.
Move your attention now to the twenty-seventh point,
The heart center.
Feel the relaxation emanating from this point.
Now shift your attention to the twenty-eighth point,
The middle of the right breast.
Move your awareness to the twenty-ninth point,
Back to the heart center.
Feel the vibrations of relaxation emanating from this point,
Relaxing your chest.
Shift your attention to the thirtieth point,
The middle of the left breast.
Now shift your attention to the thirty-first point,
Back to the heart center.
Shift your attention now to the thirty-second point,
The navel center.
Feel the vibrations emanating from this location.
Shift your awareness now to the thirty-third point,
The center of the pubic bone.
The thirty-fourth point now,
The right hip.
Bring your attention now to the thirty-fifth point,
Inside of the right knee.
Thirty-sixth point,
The right ankle.
Feel the relaxation emanating from this point.
Thirty-seventh point,
Right big toe.
The thirty-eighth point,
The right second toe.
Thirty-ninth point,
Right third toe.
Fortieth point,
Right fourth toe.
The forty-first point,
The little toe.
Now bring your attention to the forty-second point,
The right ankle again.
Now the forty-third point,
Inside the right knee.
The forty-fourth point,
Back to the right hip.
The forty-fifth point,
Back to the pubic bone center.
Forty-sixth point,
The left hip.
Forty-seventh point,
Inside left knee.
Forty-eighth point,
The left ankle.
Forty-ninth point,
Left big toe.
Fiftieth point,
Left second toe.
Fifty-first point,
Left third toe.
Fifty-second point,
Left fourth toe.
Fifty-third point,
Left little toe.
Fifty-fourth point,
Back to the left ankle.
Fifty-fifth point,
Back to the left knee.
Fifty-sixth point,
The left hip.
Fifty-seventh point,
Back to the pubic bone center.
Shift your attention now to the fifty-eighth point,
Back up to the navel center.
The fifty-ninth point,
The heart center.
Sixtieth point,
The throat center.
Shift your attention now to the sixty-first and final point,
The point between the eyebrows.
Remain with your attention in this point.
Feel the entire field of points and their interconnection within you.
See that you are very alert and at the same time deeply relaxed.

Now,
We are going to do a process of listening to the recitation of the mantra AUM.
As you listen to the recitation,
I'm going to ask you to do a visualization of the mantra AUM,
Being written in a space inside of your being.
In parallel,
I will ask you to do a kind of sensorial visualization,
To imagine a feeling rather than an image of the different states of consciousness.
These two visualizations will meet together in the yoga nidra state.
I want you to visualize the symbol AUM.
It looks like the numeral three with a tail,
A half moon above this tail,
And a dot above this half moon.
As you listen to the mantra AUM being emitted and feeling the vibrations inside of your being,
You can see how the vibrations are forming the letter AUM,
Part by part.
AUM The A is forming the shape of the numeral three.
The OO sound makes the tail,
And the vibrating M creates the half moon and the dot.
The dot then begins burning into a flame that burns and dissipates your visualization into nothingness.
Let the M sound continue.
After your visualization has disappeared into the nothingness,
Remain in the M sound vibrating inside the nothingness.
You can visualize this AUM hovering in space in the center of your chest,
Or that the AUM starts forming inside of your head with the sound Aa,
Descends through the throat as the tail gets added to the symbol three in the sound OO,
And reaches your heart as the M sound begins,
As it dissipates into the nothingness and abides there.
All three of these versions,
Visualizing the AUM in infinite space,
Inside your heart or descending in the body,
Are all good.
In the next recitation of the mantra,
The visualization begins again until it dissipates once more into the nothingness,
And so it will continue.
AUM AUM AUM Now,
In addition to this visualization of the symbol AUM,
We introduce the final element.
As you hear the Aa sound and see the Aa part of the mantra forming,
Feel that you are in the waking world.
Feel that there is a world outside your body and that you are lying on the mat performing this exercise.
As you hear the sound OO,
Feel that you are in a dream.
There is no body,
Or you may be hovering above it.
Finally,
In the sound MMM,
This too disappears.
You have no thoughts.
You have gone beyond it all.
You are in pure nothingness.
