In this episode of the Unchurching Podcast, Rev. Adedamola (Titus Glenn) explores the spiritual power of asking questions. Drawing from Proverbs 25:2, he reframes the idea of mystery—not as something to fear, but as something sacred to explore. Many of us were taught to silence our curiosity in the name of faith. But what if your questions are actually a pathway to deeper connection? This reflection invites you to honor your doubts, lean into wonder, and remember: the divine can hold your “why.” For those ready to reclaim the courage to ask, there is also a companion affirmation track available in the Premium section titled “It’s Okay to Ask Questions.”

Welcome to Unchurching.

I am your host Titus Glenn also known as Rev Adedamola and around here we ask the questions religion told us not to.

We don't deconstruct to destroy,

We unchurched to rebuild with wonder,

With courage,

And with the God of our own understanding.

So let's begin.

Have you ever been told not to question God?

That asking why meant you lacked faith?

That wanting answers made you rebellious?

That mystery was something to obey not explore?

Take a breath with me.

Let's unchurch that.

There's a verse in Proverbs 25 and 2 that says it is the glory of God to conceal a matter.

To search out a matter is the glory of Kings.

What if the mystery was meant to be searched?

What if questions aren't a sign of weakness but of royalty,

Of spiritual maturity?

You weren't made to memorize,

You were made to seek,

To turn over stones,

To wrestle with ideas,

To follow the breadcrumbs of your own divine curiosity.

If something is hidden,

Maybe it's not hidden from you,

Maybe it's hidden for you to be revealed when you're ready to see it.

God isn't insecure about your doubts.

God doesn't tremble when you whisper why.

And contrary to what some pulpits preached silence is not the absence of God.

It's sometimes the space where the answers settle in.

So if you're in a season where the questions feel too loud or too dangerous to voice,

Start small.

I created an affirmation track in the premium section called it's okay to ask questions.

It's for the seekers,

The wrestlers,

The ones who aren't sure what they believe anymore but still believe they're held.

Let it remind you,

You don't have to be certain to be spiritual,

You just have to be present.

Thanks for being here today and remember your curiosity is sacred,

Your healing is holy,

And your voice belongs here.
