This is your host Titus Glenn.

I am a singer,

Songwriter,

And minister of spiritual consciousness and training.

This is the podcast for those that are looking to reconnect their faith outside of church and come into their authentic self.

Today,

We're going to talk about your emotions and we're going to give you five ways to deal with your religious trauma,

Emotional overload.

So let's get into it right here and right now.

Find yourself,

Be yourself,

And let others do the same.

Find yourself,

Be yourself,

And let others do the same.

Find yourself,

Be yourself,

And let others do the same.

Find yourself,

Be yourself,

And let others do the same.

Now let me just say,

Emotional overload is a thing.

I can testify to it because there were moments and have been moments where I felt so overwhelmed.

Overwhelmed with what I was learning.

Overwhelmed with feeling like I had been lied to.

Overwhelmed trying to figure out what I needed to believe,

What was true,

What wasn't true.

Just so many questions that I have had on this journey.

And sometimes it can be overwhelming.

It can be overwhelming when people are questioning you and you don't really have the answer.

All you know is what was working no longer works and you're now trying to find out what works for you.

So on this show,

Again,

We're going to deal with five ways to deal with that emotional overload.

And let's just get right into it.

First way is to name your emotions.

When you're combating emotional feelings,

It can be difficult.

And sometimes your words are few to describe all the things that you are feeling.

So what I would recommend is that you find you a feeling board and be able to point out what you're feeling.

So,

For example,

If you're feeling angry,

It might be a word under anger that may look like anxiety or sad or whatever that looks like.

If you go find you a feeling word board or list,

You can Google it,

Print it out and then be able to use that to really identify what you are feeling.

Once you typically have a better idea of what you're sensing and feeling,

You can then kind of know what to do.

And if you don't know what to do with the with those feelings,

At least you know what you're feeling.

And you can ask someone like a therapist or a friend or you might know instinctively what to do when you're feeling that type of way.

But if you don't know what you're feeling,

It could be kind of hard to really know what to do with the feeling.

Second,

Write about it,

Writing and journaling is a great tool for just good mental breakthrough wellness.

All of that is a way to transfer that energy that you're feeling in your body on to paper or space that.

Can just stay there and it's a way that you can process what you're feeling and your emotions to help you alleviate concern or worry without just holding it in.

So you can write something like today was something and I'm feeling this right now and I hope to feel this later.

You can write the good,

The bad,

What you expect,

Your intent,

And that will help you process your emotions.

The third way is grounding yourself.

Grounding yourself could be taking a break,

Taking a break from work,

Taking a break from the norms of what you would normally do.

Sometimes it's breathing,

Learning how to breathe,

Learning where to focus your breath so your mind is not on that thing that you are worried about.

Sometimes it's stretching,

But whatever that looks like for you.

How do you ground yourself might be something you might want to explore finding out what's going to work for you so that when you have these moments of emotional overload,

You know what to do.

The next thing you can do is prioritize self-care.

When you feel like it's too much,

Take a vacation,

Go get a massage,

Get your nails done if that's what you're into.

Get your eyelashes done.

Go to a movie.

Remember,

You have to love on yourself in the manner that you would feel loved or cared for or do something that makes you feel happy or relaxed or inspired.

You might want to go color picture or go paint.

But again,

Make sure that you are prioritizing self-care.

And then the last one you want to seek help.

If the self-help techniques are not helping,

It might be a deeper issue.

There might be something that you're missing by way of trauma that you can't see on the surface level that you might need a life coach or clinical help to get to the bottom of what's causing you this emotional overload.

So,

Yeah,

Guys,

That's five.

Let's review those five again.

You want to name your emotions,

Write about it,

Ground yourself,

Proud,

Prioritize yourself,

Care and seek help.

So that's our show for today,

Guys.

Thank you so much for watching.

Remember,

Guys,

You can do this.

You can find yourself,

Be yourself.

And in return,

Let others do the same.

This has been unchurching,

Healing,

Religious trauma and owning your spiritual identity.

Until next time,

You guys be blessed.

Be yourself.

And let others do the same.

Find yourself,

Be yourself.

And let others do the same.

Find yourself,

Be yourself.

And let others do the same.

Find yourself,

Be yourself.

And let others do the same.
