This spiritual heart,
A heart we know little of,
A heart that resides as the embodied seat of our soul.
A heart that holds the crucial knowing of what we need for our healing,
For our honing in on ourselves and for our liberation.
I was sat deep in meditation not long ago,
Where I suddenly felt a hollow and expansive pain right at the centre of my back.
When in a meditative state,
If new sensations arise,
I choose not to label them.
Instead I surrender to them and deepen my meditation onto these physical feelings,
In order to understand their origin.
I sat with the pain and I began to feel my mother's mother.
A beautiful woman who passed long before I was even born.
A woman I know very little of but feel deeply.
I felt what can only be described as a timeline of vast and empty space draw itself out from my back and into an abyss that felt like it transcended time and space behind me.
This was my discovery of the universal truth that exists within all of us.
That our spiritual hearts are formed of not one,
But two directions.
The front of this heart calls toward love,
Compassion and towards our future endeavours in the name of unconditional love.
But what has laid dormant for so long is the seeking and knowing of the back of our heart space.
The seeking for much deeper and transcendental healing.
This is the place I want to take us to now.
Coming into a comfortable position,
Either seated and rooted into the ground or laying down with a soft front.
Gently softening and closing off the eyes.
I would like you to bring your focus to your chest and ribs.
As you inhale,
Watching your chest rise and ribs expand.
And as you exhale,
Allowing them to relax and contract.
Expanding on the inhale.
Relaxing on the exhale.
Expanding on the inhale.
Relaxing on the exhale.
Expanding and relaxing.
Taking a few moments here to breathe effortlessly and deeply here into the back of your heart space.
Filling it with breath as we settle our awareness here.
In the back of our spiritual heart lives the lineage of all those who have walked before us.
This is a space that holds sacred energy and remembrance of your ancestors and their ancestors.
This space holds resonance of the lives your soul has travelled through and of the people who you have met in such lifetimes.
You see there is not a single weight you hold today that has only been created from you.
What you carry on the bare bones of your back and deep within the walls of your ribs is the pain,
The love,
The sorrow and fight.
The willpower,
Strength and wisdom of you and those that have travelled here before you.
I want you to feel into this space.
The space at the back of your heart.
And I want you to imagine a tapestry of love forming from this space.
A woven cloth of lifetimes and history that have layered themselves before you.
Thousands of threads drawn from the bloodlines of your history and your ancestors history.
More forming textures and layers of truth.
Of pain and heartache.
Of injustice and lack of self love.
Of internal wars and external battles.
Of souls who have tried their hardest and who stood strong through all of their storms.
The souls who have met you in other lifetimes and held you in this one.
You see you have never been fighting so hard and trying so hard just for you.
You have been feeling the pain of all those before you too.
You have been standing for so much more than this lifetimes hardship.
For every single love you have created and every battle you have won.
You have been sewing new threads of hope and victory and healing into this tapestry.
You have never just been healing your own wounds.
You have been healing generational cycles and changing the trajectory of this pain for all those who come before you and all those who will come after you.
That is why this runs so deep.
That is why this has no mercy.
That is why this takes a warrior and that is why that warrior is you.
Feeling back into your breath as it graces the space surrounding your heart.
Visualising now your heart space as a vessel of light that enters through the back of your heart and shines through the front.
I would like you to imagine behind you your souls past.
The experiences you have lived in this lifetime up to this very moment.
But also the many lifetimes worth of pain or suffering,
Longing and hoping that came from your ancestors and their ancestors.
Allowing each breath to open your heart wider.
Healing into the threads that connect you to your loved ones.
And as you feel your breath draw these experiences into your heart space.
Witnessing the heart act within its own accord to naturally and effortlessly transmute these experiences into fragments of light as they pass through your body and out right in front of you.
Allowing the heart space to hold each moment with warmth and healing as it sends them through waves of love.
Unconditional love that these experiences have been calling in for centuries and lifetimes.
Through you they pass.
Through you they transmute.
Through you they become stronger,
Lighter and purer.
Through you they learn the lessons of the power of an open heart.
The power of choice and agency to take any moment in time that weighs us down from the past and to breathe new life into these stories.
If there is one thing I hope for you it's that you hold a sense of proudness for your strength and that you never forget to feel into this cape sewn into your bloodline and heart space.
A weighted heart is a heart that carries more than a lifetime's worth of longing.
And when you learn to lift your heart and heal it into lightness you are doing this for so many more existences than just yours.
And for that mustn't you see yourself as the most courageous and powerful being.
This tapestry that you are now sewing is transforming for all those that will come after you.
This is the true power of healing.
I would like you to follow my voice now back into the breath that carried you here.
Watching its flow grace through your body.
Flowing up to the crown of your head and back down to the base of your spine.
Rising up through the body and settling itself down.
In your own time I would like you to find yourself somewhere here back within your breath,
Back within your body,
Back within this room and take a few moments here before you begin to gently open your eyes.
