Hi,

This is Tina.

Welcome to this Find Your Flow breathwork experience we're going to have together.

Find yourself a comfortable place to lie down now.

Grab a blanket,

Something under your knees to support your back,

Maybe a cover for your eyes,

A flat pillow for your head and just settle in and listen to my voice as I guide you through a journey of your breath to help you find a flow state.

I'm going to start with a little story.

One of the things that people I work with often say to me is that they feel stuck or blocked in a particular area of their life.

It's so frustrating,

Unable to move forward or gain clarity around the next step.

What do I need to do is often the question I hear.

When this happens to me sometimes I just need to go outside for a walk in the fresh air.

I did this the other weekend when I was down the beach staying with my family.

We all went for a walk along the coastline in the freezing cold winter wind.

While we were trekking along there was a small group gathered and they were all staring out to the horizon like there was something happening.

I stopped and asked what is it?

What are you looking at?

There's two whales out there in the ocean just cruising past on their way somewhere warmer I would assume.

She was right and it happened to be that there was a mother whale and her calf.

I stood there and watched these beautiful charming creatures come to the surface and blow out their big spout a whole lot of air and breath.

Magical to witness these animals are hardly ever seen beneath the surface of the mystery of the Great Ocean.

While I stood there waiting and waiting for the next time I noticed that both whales would breathe at exactly the same time like they were completely in sync and they were in sync with each other as well as their environment flowing with the current and the waves and the water.

It wasn't an effort it looked so natural that they were wanting to go somewhere warmer.

And so for this breathwork practice we are going to also breathe consciously in the same way that whales breathe.

This practice is called conscious connected breathwork because when we're not present or in a flow state we're breathing unconsciously.

And this is perfect for when we're asleep when we need to keep breathing and not be awake for it to function.

Thank goodness we can still breathe when we're unconscious.

However when we are unconsciously breathing during the day we're often in some sort of survival mode which means that the breath is shallow it's not full and it's often short.

And so I'm going to invite you now to have this experience of consciously breathing.

This is a trauma-informed practice so you can expect memories stored in the nervous system to shift so that emotional processing can also heal and restore your body.

Without trying to control the breath let's simply start by observing it moving in and out of your lungs.

So wherever you are we'll begin by taking a nice big breath in through the nose and let it go out the mouth with a sigh.

Breathing in through the nose exhale out with a sigh.

Again one more time like that breathe in through the nose open the mouth and let it go.

As you allow the air to empty from your lungs relax your shoulders soften the entire back of your neck let your head be really heavy and supported and start with being aware of your breath and meeting it exactly as it is without judgment.

Allowing your worries to slide away your eyes closed now directing your attention within to explore your spirit within your skin as well as the field around your body feeling your energy expand beyond the boundaries of your skin and scanning your body now from head to toe notice where it might feel tight or contracted and where it feels open and warm.

I'll invite you now to place your hand somewhere on your body or your torso wherever it wants to feel a little more compassion or contact.

What part of me wants to be touched seen and heard and just intuitively let your hands land let them land wherever they want and start to direct the breath into the palms of your hands creating a direct communication line with your heart with your heart's wisdom and allow breath to move through the palms of your hands telling this part of your body what it needs to hear in this moment.

What thoughts or words of compassion and understanding can you offer yourself?

Perhaps you haven't acknowledged in a while that you're living the very best that you can right now and that you are enough and it's safe to slow down.

Exactly the same way these whales guided me to stop,

Breathe,

Slow down and find your flow.

Send yourself the same messages stop,

Breathe,

Slow down,

Find your flow and you can leave your hands where they are or just settle them in beside your body.

Now hopefully you have a blanket or something tucking your arms in and begin by breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.

So it sounds a bit like this.

That's it.

In through the nose and out the mouth.

Imagining that you can inhale through the soles of your feet and exhale out the top of your head in the same way that the whales exhale through the opening in their crown.

Imagine you are releasing in the same way.

Allowing the air to find its way into the lower lobes of your lungs as well.

So you're really breathing from deep in your belly all the way up into your chest.

Feeling it like a wave,

An ocean wave,

Traveling up your body and releasing at the top.

Making any sound that you need to let go of a yawn or a sigh.

Let it be natural and timely.

As you feel your muscles start to relax even deeper now.

Settling into your bones.

Letting the earth hold you.

A solid ground beneath your spine.

Taking one final exhale out the mouth and closing the mouth now as we begin nasal breathing.

Breathing in and out the nose.

So on your next inhale take it all the way up into your heart.

Expanding belly chest.

The exhale falls away.

Bringing your attention back to a full inhale.

Can you lift your chest?

Making it twice as big.

Really expanding all the way up to your collarbones.

Taking in all of life.

I accept life on its terms.

Nothing is good or bad or right or wrong.

I am breathing in life as it is.

Feeling the sensations in my body and on my skin as I take in more air,

More oxygen.

Inhaling up to my throat.

Touching that center around the throat of suppressed or stuck honesty.

Where do I need to feel more free to speak the truth?

Where do I need to feel more free to authentically and creatively express who I am?

Now shifting your awareness to your exhale.

The exhale is a relaxed letting go.

There's no effort or pushing the exhale out.

We breathe out through the nose so it sounds like this.

Long and slow.

Allowing the lungs to collapse towards the spine like empty balloons deflating until there's nothing left.

Notice gravity return your breath to the earth on the exhale.

And we start to merge the inhale with the exhale to breathe consciously connected.

And so the next time your lungs empty,

Inhale back in straight away filling all the way up to the crown of the head.

It sounds a bit like this.

This is circular breathing.

Taking the pause out between each breath now and activating this circle or this electric circuit.

The circle finds its flow,

Its rhythm.

And within this rhythm I am breathing intelligence.

If there's any resistance coming up mentally or physically,

Just continue to breathe through it.

Blending my inhale with my exhale.

Circular breathing.

It is natural to feel stuck and blocked at times.

This is the universe trying to get our attention to breathe through any fear or doubts or insecurities.

And perhaps your soul is asking you to grow outside of your comfort zone.

So breathing through this fear that arises naturally when we are expanding beyond our limits.

It comes up when we follow our intuition,

When we follow our truth and walk our talk.

We see fear for what it is.

An invitation or a doorway to explore a new level of consciousness.

Continue merging your inhale with your exhale.

You're doing really well.

Relax the back of your neck.

Can you unclench your jaw?

I am willing to see any unconscious stories or beliefs which have been keeping me stuck.

Stories such as I need to do life on my own or I'm not meant to have a big life or it's easier just to settle for what I've already got.

These negative beliefs such as I don't deserve to feel this good are not true.

They're old stories or patterns in your unconscious body.

Allowing your breath now to keep breathing through and re-patterning a new path,

A new possibility and a space for you to grow into.

Merging your inhale with your exhale.

I am breathing energy.

We're going to invite in now one round of breath of fire.

This is fast and shallow.

Breathing in and out the nose,

Pumping the belly to create some heat inside the body and really move out any stuckness within the solar plexus area using your diaphragm.

So joining in with me,

I'll demonstrate 44 fast and shallow breaths and keep the count.

Keep going.

10 more.

10 more.

6,

5,

4,

3,

2,

1.

Inhale and hold it at the top of the inhale.

Keep holding.

Keep holding.

Hold your breath.

And let it go.

Making any sound that you need to.

And returning now back to merging my inhale with my exhale.

Circular breathing in and out the nose.

Finding your flow again.

That's it.

Breathing all the way up to your throat on the inhale.

Gravity releases the exhale.

No effort.

And I want you to imagine in your mind's eye a colour.

The first colour that comes to your mind,

Imagining that it's filling up your whole body,

Every cell,

Every space,

Sparkling with this colour vibrantly.

Noticing with each breath,

The colour and the light is getting brighter and brighter.

Filling up the space around your body.

Lighting up the whole room that you're breathing in.

I'm finding my flow.

My breath is smart and curious.

I trust it knows where to go to heal.

Where I need to forgive.

Forgiving myself.

Freeing myself of expectations.

And as I let go of expectations on my exhale,

I find a little more room to inhale.

It is safe to let go of control and plans.

I'll allow myself to feel more spontaneous joy.

I'm being supported.

I'm being supported to experience higher levels of bliss and gratitude.

It's okay for me to take up that space and to be an example and model it.

For others.

This is how I can serve something bigger than myself.

If any emotion is coming to the surface,

This could be an opportunity to let go of the past.

Where have I been hurt?

And how can my breath alchemize this pain back into power?

The information I'm receiving is to let myself feel it.

Feeling anything hard,

Such as grief or shame or guilt that has kept me stuck.

I let my body reorganize itself to process and metabolize.

Whatever I've swallowed down,

I'm just going to let it move.

Merging my inhale with my exhale.

That's it.

You're doing so well.

I trust my journey.

Imagining now these two whales.

I'm going to let go of control and plan for the next step.

I'm going to let go of control and plan for the next step.

Imagining now these two whales.

With your inner eye,

Can you picture them?

Can you see them swimming under the ocean?

Riding the waves of your breath?

Observing them in a natural state.

Notice how they float up to the surface,

Releasing a big exhale into the sky.

It's limitless.

My breath is playful.

My breath is drawn towards the light.

I'll let myself go where it's warm.

I'll let myself go where it's warm.

My breath will always migrate towards my longing.

Traveling towards what warms my heart and lights me up.

Let these charming creatures fill up every part of your body with feelings of flow.

Information flows easily to me.

I am no longer stuck.

I no longer need to hold myself back.

I trust my true self as survival fear dissolves.

I can see now the face I had.

I can see now the face I had before I was even born.

I see my true self.

Circular breathing.

Stay present with the breath.

Merging the inhale with the exhale.

Just a few more minutes remaining.

You taught me the courage of stars before you left.

How light carries on endlessly,

Even after death.

With shortness of breath,

You explain the infinite.

How rare and beautiful it is to even exist.

I couldn't help but ask for you to say it all again.

I tried to write it down,

But I could never find a pen.

I'd give anything to hear you say it one more time.

That the universe was made just to be seen by my eyes.

I couldn't help but ask for you to say it all again.

I tried to write it down,

But I could never find a pen.

I'd give anything to hear you say it one more time.

That the universe was made just to be seen by my eyes.

With shortness of breath,

I'll explain the infinite.

How rare and beautiful it truly is that we exist.

Noticing the vibration and the shift in consciousness that's occurring,

All because of your breath.

As you start to hum on your exhale,

Inhaling through the nose and humming on a long,

Slow exhale,

Filling yourself up with vibration,

It sounds like this.

The power of sound.

It is the deep calling of our most mysterious creatures.

And it's how you began,

Following and tracking the hum all the way to the end of the exhale.

Allowing life to show you this is how you do it.

This is how you release the grip of needing to micromanage your life.

Just let it go.

Allow the universe to support you,

To follow the impulses that excite you and light you up.

What do I want to create?

This is my path.

It is not a struggle.

It is not something I need to endure.

It is simply who I am born to be.

To live my life unafraid and at peace.

Humming on your exhale.

One final time.

Begin to let go of the cycle of the connected breath.

Taking a big sigh out the mouth on your next exhale.

Taking a big sigh out the mouth on your next exhale.

Releasing the pattern now.

Bringing a little bit of care and love back to the space that you're in.

Trusting whatever the breath has shown you during this session.

It's easier to flow with what is true than resist and stay stuck.

And so to say yes to your breath is to say yes to that thing that might feel scary,

But you know deep down it's the only way forward.

You can do this.

You are free.

Take some time now to roll onto your side and rest here for a few minutes in integration.

Thank you for having the courage to show up to this session.

For trusting your big little breath.

I wish you flow and charm.
