Hello,
And welcome to this meditation on your true essence.
The essence of life is your absolute truth.
When you embrace the essence,
Life can become more meaningful or change its meaning.
Our essence is the attribute or set of attributes that make you who you fundamentally are.
When you start losing perspective on how good your life already is,
Life may seem to be clouded and diluted.
In this meditation,
We will use guided imagery to reveal our truest essence of being.
Find a comfortable place to sit or lay down,
Lengthen your spine,
Roll your shoulders back to open up your heart space.
Rest your hands in your lap,
Palms up or down,
Wherever you find the most comfortable fit.
If you are laying down,
Take a moment to shift your weight equally in your body so that you can feel a lengthening of your body and spine.
Go ahead and close your eyes and notice your breath.
As you inhale,
How does it feel on your nose as it enters and fills your chest and belly?
Is your exhale warm and smooth?
Just observe your breath and suspend any judgment,
You are just noticing your own natural breath here.
Begin to tune out sounds both far and near.
Allow your tongue to be flat and wide as it rests at the bottom of your mouth.
And notice the tension as it leaves your jaw.
Soften your cheeks,
Relax your eyes,
And notice the space in the middle of your brows as you breathe into that space and allow it to soften.
Take a deep inhale really expanding your belly and exhale through your mouth.
Do that again.
Inhale feeling your belly expand and allow your exhale to lengthen really empty yourself of your breath.
Let's do another deep breath and this time on your exhale really sigh it all out as you release any tensions that you are holding onto.
Inhale deeply and sigh it all out.
Coming back to your natural breath rhythm as you continue to breathe,
Keep softening,
Keep relaxing.
Now begin to imagine yourself walking on a path.
As you are walking leisurely,
Notice your surroundings.
Notice your feet on the ground beneath you.
Notice if there are trees or other foliage around.
Keep walking until you see a huge rock up ahead in the distance.
And as you walk towards the rock,
Notice there's an opening in the front of it.
There's a staircase that leads downwards and go ahead and take the staircase.
And as you step into the entrance and travel down the staircase,
Notice with each step,
The space is lit up.
And as you come to the end of the staircase,
You notice a sun filled entryway.
Go ahead and step into it.
And notice where you are.
What do you see here?
Is it a sunny calm ocean?
A lake beach?
A riverbank?
Is it a beautiful garden?
Or perhaps a field that goes for miles?
Notice your surroundings.
Become aware of the colors and textures.
You might even notice the smells that fill the space.
And as you breathe in to the appreciation and beauty of the space that you're in,
Allow yourself to see your feet on the ground.
And feel into that grounded connection with the earth.
And notice how secure and safe you feel.
Bring to mind all the people in your life that love and care about you.
And invite all of that endearment and nurturing into this space.
Notice how that feels.
Become aware of that radiant nourishing energy as it fills this space and creates a sense of security.
And I'll begin to imagine going beneath the layers of your appearance and outer self into the inner realm of your soul.
Ask yourself as you begin to reveal the true essence of your nature.
Who am I when I let go of my work self?
Who am I when I let go of my sibling self?
Who am I when I let go of being a son or a daughter or a parent or an aunt or an uncle?
Who am I when I release my relationship self?
And begin to really envision yourself taking off these roles,
Stepping out of them like the clothes that you wear.
Let go of the self that likes to travel,
To cook,
To socialize,
To read.
Who am I when I let go of the social constructs and roles I play daily?
Really imagine yourself shedding these roles and experiences and labels like clothes and just laying them down on the ground.
And tell yourself my true nature is divinely designed.
And I seek to cast off ego concepts like tattered old clothes,
Standing peaceful,
Luminous and unshackled in my own true nature.
And when you are done releasing and shedding those layers,
Step forward in your bare essence of your true nature.
Allowing yourself to feel the splendor of this bare essence,
Your true nature.
Take a moment to place a hand on your heart.
And imagine,
Feel,
Intend and desire to really connect to your true inner self.
Trust in the uniqueness,
Sacred beauty,
The higher power and perfect inner potential that you are.
You might even speak it out loud.
I am.
I surrender into the unconditionally loving acceptance that spirit has for me.
And heed the encouragement to be my true self,
The bare essence of who I truly am.
I do not need to adapt,
Compromise,
Or alter myself to be like anyone else.
And from that place of truth,
I feel connected to my heart.
Noticing how that feels when you are without all the external noise and internal chatter,
Embodying your truest essence.
And stating I can easily attract all I desire from this place of authenticity and integrity.
And now in this fully present embodiment of the bare essence of your true self.
Allow yourself to release the space you have cultivated,
Knowing it is available for you to return to at any time you need to unveil the roles and constructs that cloud your divine bare essence of your radiant self.
Become aware of your breath as you come back to your body,
To the space you are in.
Notice the ground you are supported by.
Become aware of any sounds as you tune into the space.
Notice the air on your skin as you breathe with your natural rhythm.
You might stretch or wiggle your fingers and toes.
As you gently open your eyes and gaze softly into your environment.
Slowly becoming aware.
And as you go about your day,
Recognize this part of yourself that you have called forward and continue to allow that essence of yourself to show up in its truest form.
May all beings know such peace,
Comfort and love.
Love always the peace,
Wisdom and truth within me honors the peace,
Wisdom and truth within you.
