The nature of everything is giving, expanding, growth and regeneration. When we give we connect with the principles of Generosity, Innocence, Vitality and Energy (GIVE) which are not only the principles of the Universe and spirit, but help everyone we come in contact with. It helps us to feel more connected and alive. This guided meditation reconnects you to these powerful principles and helps you to give to yourself and to others. You can pause it in the middle to give yourself longer silent contemplation. Try the GIVE meditation today and feel the effects in your life.

Hi,

Welcome to this meditation that will help you to give more easily.

Give to life,

Give to others and give to yourself.

I'm Tim Morey and I'm going to guide you into this meditation with some words to start with and then there will be time for you just to explore each of the gifts I'm going to give to you and then at the end we'll just wrap up the meditation and then you can go and practice in your normal life.

Now meditation is a wonderful way to stretch the muscles that we want to build up and to introduce new ideas for us to then develop,

Play with and practice in our normal daily lives.

Meditation gives us this space but it is in the practice and the application and the noticing of how the new ideas help you really generate the benefits.

So make yourself into a comfortable but alert posture.

We need to be alert so that our mind can be rested but not sleeping,

Rested and aware and if we get thoughts that come up that grab our attention then my voice will guide you back to the meditation and through our practice of just noticing thoughts arising and then going we'll develop our meditation muscle.

So this meditation is to help us to give and generosity.

Giving comes from an abundance mindset,

Comes from being unattached to that which we are giving so that we give with ease and flow.

We give freely,

Easily and unconsciously.

It is the way of all things.

The universe is giving,

Expanding,

Creating,

Regenerating and your life is expanding and growing and whether you are consciously or unconsciously giving,

Trying to give or not trying to give,

This is your nature.

So there is no need to think about giving or to make more effort to give more.

In fact the very best thing you can do is have absolute faith that it is the nature of all life to give and through giving we diminish any thoughts in ourselves of poverty or scarcity and it helps us to let go of things so we become unattached which helps to release us from as the Buddhists call suffering and attachment is not just about real physical things like cars or money.

Attachment can happen to our thoughts and by practicing a lack of attachment through giving,

We can let go of the thoughts that sometimes repeat over and over like worrying about whether we have got enough money,

Whether we are going to be rich,

Whether we are going to have this or that.

So practicing,

Giving can help us enjoy the flow of life and the expansion.

So as we enter the meditation,

I want you to just use this four letters of give to explore what to give means to you.

So firstly we have gentleness,

To give gentleness is perhaps the ultimate kindness.

We may find it easy to give gentleness to children or to our pets but gentleness to others,

Others who maybe we have difficulty in feeling kind towards,

Gentleness to those who we don't know,

Gentleness to ourselves.

To give gentleness to everything is the ultimate kindness.

And then to give innocence,

In the Tao Te Ching there is a passage around one should retain innocence as if you are a traveler in a foreign place where you are unfamiliar.

You need the help and the kindness of everyone around you.

Innocence,

You give innocence,

That is again another kindness and will often get you the best possible results in any situation.

It is free of attachment,

Of judgment and predefined outcome.

So give innocence,

Then give vitality,

Love the essence of this moment.

Thoughts of tiredness or stress or strain or feeling unwell,

Deny this vitality that burns within all life.

The source of all of our effort,

Vitality is there too.

Keep us going,

Keep us living.

So give vitality to yourself and to others,

Love the essence of now.

And then give energy,

For energy is flowing through all reality.

So great physicists have proven time and time again energy is neither lost nor destroyed,

It is merely converted.

So just the thought of the energy that flows through you,

Through all your interactions.

Be aware of that energy,

The presence of it and how without even thinking and without your conscious allowing it flows at all times.

So give energy.

So we give gentleness,

We give innocence,

We give vitality and we give energy.

And we practice that for the next few minutes in a quiet meditation on give.

And give yourself gentleness,

Give yourself innocence,

Give yourself vitality and give yourself energy.

And just allow those to soak in.

For the next few moments my voice will bring you back and it is time to end this short practice.

So give gentleness to yourself,

Give innocence to yourself,

Give vitality to yourself and give energy to yourself.

That's right.

So giving gentleness,

Giving innocence,

Giving vitality and giving energy to yourself will of course mean that you can give all those qualities to life.

So this meditation is now coming to an end and I'm very pleased to share it with you.

And you can of course practice this as often as you wish and extend the period of meditative contemplation by pausing at the silent pot to give yourself more time for these concepts to wire in to your everyday practice.

And just before we end just ask yourself what will my life be like if I give more.

So take your time to just come back around and ready yourself for whatever it is you're going to do next.

Maybe take a nice deep breath and let it go.

And then just gently move and take this practice with you into your next activity and to the next.

And every time you come back to this moment now.

And I look forward to sharing a practice with you again real soon.

Thank you.

Thank you.

I've been feeling a little burnt out recently, over committed to volunteer activities. I wasn't sure this meditation was what I wanted or needed. I was wrong. It was exactly the self care I needed today. Thank you!

I really liked this meditation. The silent period was especially appreciated. The GIVE idea is a nice step to kindness. To me, vitality and energy are so similar it’s difficult to separate. I’m kind of hung up on that right now. I’m aware one is capacity and the other force. I also just realized the similarity between gentleness and innocence. Ok, I’m thinking as I write this and now I’VE GOT IT, thank you. Writing this enabled me to wrap my head around the GIVE idea. Thank you for making me think. I will return to this meditation often. GIVE.
