Recorded on retreat, this meditation invites you to 'be as you are' without needing to get anywhere or achieve anything, and in this honors the innate wholeness of you, the sacred nature of you just as you are. Inviting you to let be and rest in and as life. If you are unfamiliar with this approach to meditation there is guidance to begin the practice explaining how to ground yourself and about following your own inner wisdom. A reminder that you are your own greatest guide, guru, and teacher. Image by Josie Weiss on Unsplash.

In a meditation like this,

That in essence,

You're invited to come to without needing to get anywhere,

Just being exactly where you are.

You might find that your inner guidance says,

Let's go this way.

I encourage you to follow where you're called to go,

With what resonates for you.

And so looking after yourself in the practice,

By grounding as you need to ground,

In whatever way resonates for you,

Whether it's touching the ground,

Feeling the sensations of contact,

Whether it's feeling your breath,

Opening your eyes,

Having a drink,

Standing up,

Shaking,

Moving,

Whatever speaks to you.

As you're settling here,

Feeling into that sense of not needing to get anywhere,

Just not needing to get anywhere or achieve anything.

And noticing what that feels like in your body,

Not needing to be anyone,

For anyone,

Nothing to control or know,

Not needing to do anything,

Just being as you are,

Just the simple experience of being.

So not having to have any particular experience,

Any other experience,

Other than what you're having,

Here right now,

You might notice that sounds arise all on their own,

Without you having to do anything,

Just the coming and going of sound,

As sound.

And if you let go of the label of distance,

Other sounds outside of you or inside of you,

Smells arise,

Tastes arise or not,

Images,

Colors,

Thoughts may arise or not,

Just allowing everything to be exactly as it is,

Without it having to be different.

Even any thoughts of wanting things to be different,

Can you allow them to be here as well?

Even giving permission to those thoughts or feelings of judgment or resistance,

Sensing into the heart and honoring what's arising in the moment,

Whatever that might be,

Feeling what's here,

Sensations,

The movement,

The flow,

The aliveness,

The richness,

Feeling into it,

The depth,

Being so close to it,

There's no separation,

Intimately one with the movement and the play,

This play of what is,

What's here right now.

Even the thoughts and wanting it to be different,

Allowing that non-allowing,

Letting a sense of distance drop away and feeling what's here,

Being what's here,

Resting as presence,

Not in presence,

But as presence,

So letting labels drop away,

Being with the raw experience,

Sensation,

Thoughts,

Sounds,

Emotion,

The aliveness,

Not having to chase anything,

Not having to get anywhere,

Just here.

You don't have to be anyone,

Who are you?

If you don't have to be a somebody,

The striving drops away,

Just resting gently here,

Opening to the compassion,

Perhaps that's here,

Compassion for self and what's arising,

Honoring what's here through and as presence,

You might even like to offer a sense of gratitude for what's arising,

If that resonates for you,

Letting the heart be open to your experience,

Noticing the sounds again,

A changing soundscape,

Feeling your body,

That meeting place where you meet the ground,

Meet the earth,

Feeling the sensations of your breath,

Noticing how you feel,

Slowly feeling that weight of your body resting here,

Gently in your own time and way,

Bringing some movement into the body,

Some gentle movement,

Feeling the breath,

The sensations,

The aliveness,

When you're ready,

Slowly opening your eyes,

Noticing where you are.

Incredible guidance to let whatever is arising, arise. Empowering to be with what is.

Short and to the point. Just don't try so hard...relax...let it be. Many thanks!
