And you see in a way,

There's the tone of,

You should just accept yourself.

And to me,

I'm saying,

I am accepting myself.

I'm accepting the honesty that I have,

That this isn't okay.

I see that this is a result of me not taking care of myself.

I was hiding from a deeper invitation to show up in a way that resonated with my heart,

And I was scared.

If you're dissatisfied with where you are in life,

There's two things.

First and foremost,

I would totally embrace it.

And then get radically honest about the dissatisfaction.

And in that honesty,

See what honesty is wanting to be expressed in the world.

Case in point,

Here's just an example.

Don't know if it applies to you,

But see the principle.

Related to being healthy.

And this is speaking from direct experience.

Like I used to be more than a hundred pounds that I am now,

Like more than 45 kilos.

And it was important for me to get radically honest about how dissatisfied I was in my life,

Being that overweight.

Finally being honest about the pain of not experiencing a life that I felt was more reflective of what's true,

In one way lit a fire in my ass to make it a priority.

And it didn't make it a priority in the way of being super active and doing something about it.

It lit a fire of self-honesty where I was gonna stop lying to myself that said this was okay.

And you see in a way there's the tone of,

You should just accept yourself.

And to me,

I'm saying,

I am accepting myself.

I'm accepting the honesty that I have,

That this isn't okay,

Right?

Cause I see that this is a result of me not taking care of myself and me looking for comfort to hide from difficult things or to hide from the self-honesty and that seeking comfort was only making things worse.

And so the self-acceptance was accepting the deeper honesty that wanted to stop pretending that this was okay.

Same could be said about my work in business life,

Right?

Like way back in the day when I was an employee,

There was this time I was working this job and I was so dissatisfied.

Like I couldn't understand how this could be my life.

I'm just gonna be here at this job and whatever.

And I stepped outside on the back patio and just started crying.

I was like,

This can't be it.

There was just something in me that was so dissatisfied and rightly so,

Because you know,

How to say this,

I was hiding.

I was hiding from a deeper calling.

I was hiding from a deeper invitation to show up in a way that resonated with my heart.

And I was scared,

Right?

I was scared to step out and do something on my own.

I was scared of taking that risk,

But being honest about the pain is what helped me step into that risk.

You know,

There's a classic phrase.

I don't know if I'll say it correctly,

But it's something to the effect of when the pain of where you are overcomes the pain of making a change,

Then you'll finally make a change.

Something like that.

And so this is why I think it's so valuable to be radically honest about the pain and not spiritualize it,

Right?

And just say,

Everything is fine.

Because if everything was fine,

Then you would be radically honest about what's actually going on inside of you.

It's not everything is fine,

So don't have human emotions.

It's no,

Everything is fine,

So fully feel what's there,

Right?

Truly be alive.

And when you are denying your own heart,

When you are not taking care of yourself,

That is truly something to allow yourself to not be okay with,

Right?

It's like a lot of people,

They say,

Oh,

I would never let someone treat me that way.

But if we look at the way that we treat ourselves and we let ourselves treat ourselves that way,

Right?

Like it amazes me,

So many experiences that I look at in my own life,

And even now it's still happening.

But the ways that I will hide are the ways that I will seek comfort instead of doing the difficult thing,

When really I know the difficult thing is what my heart is asking for.

It blows my mind,

Right?

It's like we are so much more quick to be violent to ourselves than we are to others,

Which is why it's so important to be radically honest about what's going on in our lives.

Because when we get that honest,

When we see the ways that we're really denying ourselves,

That is a fire that ignites courage to make a change.
