When you mindfully grow and cultivate your self-worth, you deepen the inner knowing that you deserve respect and acceptance for who you are. In this meditation, Thor guides you through the three aspects that help you cultivate a stronger and sturdier sense of self-worth using the Buddhist metaphor of ‘Watering the seeds’. Feelings are information and it's more helpful to be curious than critical.

Welcome to this meditation.

In this meditation we will be focusing on self-worth.

In Buddhism we talk about watering the seeds in our store consciousness.

And our self-worth is one such seed.

So as you arrive in this meditation,

Just take a moment to get a sense of what here feels like.

Any shuffles or shifts,

Maybe noticing any tension in your eyebrows or your jaw,

Shuffling your shoulders,

Twiggling your toes.

You might need something behind your back or any adjustments or supports that you need to help you support yourself well in this moment.

Yeah,

Because you are worth that.

So let's gather our awareness and get curious about self-worth.

You may find that you need to draw on your courage to do this.

That you may need to lean into compassion.

That's okay.

These are important aspects of what we are doing with ourselves and for ourselves.

So my invitation to you is to get curious about what for you is self-worth.

What are some of the thoughts and beliefs that you have about self-worth?

You might even connect with emotions that go with that or physical sensations.

Yeah.

And connecting with your own sense of self-worth.

Does that feel strong and steady or would you like it to be stronger than it is currently?

One of the ways of strengthening that is through watering the seeds of self-worth like you're doing now.

Yeah.

So self-worth is about how we perceive ourselves as a person,

As a being.

It often comes with thoughts or beliefs like I am a good person.

I know my value.

I know my worth.

I have respect for myself and what I stand for.

And for some of us that can feel really clear.

But for some of us we may realize that we don't really know.

Am I a good person?

What makes a good person?

Do I know my own value?

What does that even mean?

And so my invitation to you is to get curious about well what do you value about yourself?

What are some of the aspects of you that make you you?

We can sometimes go into thinking that our value is about the work we do or what we do for others.

And that certainly can be a part of it.

But actually within the you that is you.

Within whatever abilities and capacities that you have in this moment.

Regardless of your abilities and capacities in the past or in the future.

In this moment right here,

Right now.

You have worth.

You have value.

So notice what it feels like to hear me say that.

Any responses,

Any appreciations,

Any recognition,

Any doubts.

And so we take them by the hand and go okay,

That's okay.

We can sit with doubt,

We can sit with appreciation.

We may even want to get curious about them at another time.

Maybe with help from somebody else.

And that's okay.

But for now,

For this meditation.

My invitation to you is to connect with the premise.

That just by the mere fact that you are here.

That you are breathing.

That you are listening.

Here you have worth and you have value.

Noticing where about the new body you can feel any resonance of that.

Where does that land within you?

Even if you have the thought,

Well maybe that's true.

Or even though I'm struggling to feel my own worth and value.

I'm aware that I probably do have some worth and some value.

And that's good enough for now.

In order to bring ourselves into strong and steady presence of that self-worth.

We need to nurture and water those seeds right from the tiniest seed.

Up until the strongest and sturdiest plant.

And so this is a process.

This is the stuff of practice.

So every time you take a moment to recognize your self-worth.

To nurture and cultivate your self-worth.

To remind yourself that you have worth and you have value.

You are watering those seeds of self-worth.

And gradually that will become stronger and steadier.

Until more and more of the time.

You are connected with your sense of self-worth.

More and more of your day.

You are coming from a place of self-worth.

In that keeping it real kind of way.

This is not about I'm fabulous or awesome,

Which of course you may be.

But that kind of yeah.

That more quiet,

Connected,

Real recognition.

Yep,

I have worth and I have value.

And this means that I have respect for myself.

And when I'm able to strengthen my respect for myself,

It becomes easier to command that respect from others.

Slow and steady.

One breath at a time.

As we bring this meditation to a close,

My invitation to you is to give yourself a moment to absorb and observe.

What you have noticed through this meditation.

What are the thoughts,

Emotions and physical sensations that you now have experienced.

This is the information.

This is the information that will give you the clues.

And the appreciation that you can hold the enoughness of now at the same time as the aspiration and the potential that you have.

Feelings are information.

And it is always more helpful to be curious than critical.

I am astounded by the effectiveness of this meditation. Rarely does a speaker deliver so much- gentle guidance toward peace and stillness, acceptance of emotions, gentle movement toward truth of self worth, and insightful pointings toward a felt understanding of certain. Wonderful, I highly recommend it.
