Hello yoga family and listeners from all across the globe.
Welcome to the first episode of the Yogi Show.
We are so grateful that your ears are hearing this first episode right here right now.
We all have a story to share and today we are going to give you a little bit of insight onto our story,
Our journey to the yoga mat,
Our journey to teaching yoga,
How yoga has helped us in our daily lives and how it can help you now and in the future.
Are you ready?
Strap up,
Let's go!
My name is Pedro Luna.
I'm here with my co-host Brian Holub and we are going to talk about how we found yoga,
How we found each other.
This is like a bromance.
Are you bromance?
I know man.
Brochachomance.
Brochachomance.
So how we found each other,
How we evolved on the journey since its inception.
I've been practicing yoga for like eight years man and wow has it changed over time.
You know I thought it was amazing.
Thought it was going to be the same for a while like I thought I was doing one thing for the whole time.
That's not true.
That's not how life works man.
That's not how it goes.
Deeper and deeper man.
Deeper into the rabbit hole.
Over and over.
Hole,
Hole,
Hole.
Man those sound effects are really going well.
Yeah amazing sound effects on your end.
Episode one got the sound effects going.
Yes so we are super excited to be here.
It's gonna be fun.
So you know we're here two yoga bros,
Two yoga dads,
Not here to take life so serious,
Not here to take yoga so serious all the time because it just doesn't have to be that way.
You know what I mean?
Exactly,
Exactly and you do take your practice seriously right?
I take my practice seriously but we always got to just come back to that playful like hey it's just yoga like let's just have fun like you know what I mean?
Yeah there's an element of lightness that comes along with the practice and if you're not um you know if you're over like some people are just so over serious all the time you know it's like it's like just chill out Karen relax like just yeah Carl,
Karen just chill out you know it's just yoga relax it's just yoga yeah and we're gonna make we're gonna make it all happen so we're here to bring you each and every week yoga mindfulness gratitude with a touch of humor a spin on yoga uh we're two yoga dads and have made memes on the internet for going on a couple years now I'm almost on four years of making yoga memes on the internet and the goat man you're the first first yoga meme page right yeah there was no other yoga meme page before you right no no it didn't exist so um so I'm the creator of uh of yogi memes and Brian what are you the creator bro?
Namaste AF so namaste AF it could stand for namaste amazingly fun namaste as fuck your interpretation right but namaste AF so if you already follow these two Instagram pages you already know that uh we are about uh humor lightness not making fun of yoga not that definitely not that it's about like what happens in the yoga rooms you know as a teacher you see all sorts of crazy stuff as a student you see all sorts of crazy stuff so by us being able to really be in the space of yoga all the time that's my life is like eat breathe sleep walk think yoga that's what I do you know that's like it I don't do anything else you know I don't really have time for anything else except for my family you know that dad life that yoga life that yoga instructor life that's it man and you live by the beats so it's pretty much pretty pretty pretty much so um so with that being said segwaying it's a good transition to point to how we found like how do we find yoga how did it come to us like it's not like I just like was just like walking down the street all of a sudden there was like a yoga mat I was like oh I'm gonna go try this thing out like it's like oh yeah um I'm Pincha Maya Asana Pincha next spasm asana is this good am I winning you're definitely you're definitely winning but but the reality is like you know it's like the everybody finds the mat at a different time in our life I love that saying that says um the yoga meets you where you are and I really believe that I really believe that you know whether you are a gymnast super flexible you could do anything you know any of the poses it doesn't uh your version of yoga is different totally different than the guy that's a body builder super tight uh and can't let's say can't touch his toes like can't even maybe get his hands down to his knees or past his ankles you know or down to his shins totally different experience physically but the mindset you know it's about the mindset you know how do we capture that mindset the goal when I teach a class is for everybody to have that feeling it's not about like who touched their toes who brought their head to their knee who brought their right what none of that physical stuff matters yeah it's at the end of the practice does every person feel that thing that life space you know just that breath you know just connect into the breath like you breathe in deeper like you're gonna feel better can you get there you know what I mean when you're saying like can't touch your toes like before I even did yoga like putting on my socks and shoes where it's like such a fucking man that took like so much work right now I'm like uh like I gotta stand on one foot and then try and get this sock over my foot the struggle yeah and I'm like I'm probably gonna pull some shit along the way like fall and you know like that that was so challenging for me I mean I weigh like 230 236 at the time yeah and just putting on my socks and shoes like it's like fuck man I gotta go to work I gotta put on my shoes yeah like I gotta live my best life out here you know I live my best life out here like the reality of that you know so for me it was Kirkland socks and yeah get to work that's a plug for Costco please sponsor this show in the future please so so but no but for real it's like you know for me it was uh it was a mindset you know so I found yoga through struggles with uh anxiety and uh stress at a job that I didn't really like that wasn't soul filling so I found myself uh needing an outlet you know and like a lot of people you know a lot of us need like that outlet like what are we gonna do and it's not like it was for me it wasn't like um I wasn't doing anything physical like moving my body in any way um to feel good you know I was just working at a job where I was sitting in a call room at a at a collection agency and like like that that sucks that's no fun yeah zero fun fluorescent lights yeah all that stuff you know and so I found myself in a yoga class and I decided like yo this is this is gonna be amazing this is gonna be for uh I want to feel this way after the first few classes you know it's like I want to keep feeling this yeah it's like addicting man seriously no no really and I have that oxygen totally I had this addictive and I was bikram yoga so totally a type yoga and I was like an a-type personality back then I felt like a lot I was driven to succeed at work and I had to grind it out and all this stuff so bikram yoga was like helped me fuel that that new passion that new addiction that could uh you know drop the the dopamine the serotonin like all that stuff like all the good stuff was coming in I was sweating I was you know just living the sweat stuff living the sweat life all that stuff did you have that shirt which one living the sweat life I didn't something is that is it that's something you would wear the sweat life is the hashtag for lululemon that's like there's that's there's that's them I I in my head I've seen you wear that shirt I don't know maybe I sweat life like yeah are you dreaming about me um where's my wife oh my god man bromance what can you say the brochachos here we are here we are chachos but uh no but the reality is like after doing that and feeling really good along my journey I said you know I want to make other people feel good like how do I help other people feel this good you know and not about like money spreading it spread the love like how do I not not worried about the money or how am I going to make it or all that you know all that jazz like I just want to help people I want to help people make a feel good so how do I make that happen well um let's be a yoga teacher like I never thought in my life I was going to be a yoga teacher I never thought in my life we'd be on this podcast right now but here we are yeah I mean here we are I mean here we are right now you know episode one episode one we made it like yeah mind-blowing so in any event I decided to become a yoga teacher I go to yoga teacher training and it was bikram yoga so it's hot yoga man it's like 25 000 right no it's 25 minutes like 12 grand dude it is bikram yoga teacher trying to do it was hot as shit I can't even I can't even begin to explain to you how hot it was it was unbelievably hot I I didn't even think of that like if you're doing teacher training and hot as fuck shit yeah fall of 2012 non-stop I mean hot as shit you're just sweating for nine weeks straight like literally sweating for nine weeks straight but it's okay mercury retrograde you were actually like yeah in mercury yeah retrograding but it was it was good man I I enjoyed it and I learned a lot about myself my practice all that stuff you know so I'm you know going through the that's cool I'm going through yoga you know I start teaching classes and start helping people making them feel good I'm still working that shit collection job and I had to make a choice man I had to make that choice either I'm gonna keep working this shit job and keep getting stressed out I'm gonna teach yoga once a week and that'll be fulfilling once a week or I can cut this shit move do what I want do what I love chase the dream go all in on myself and figure it out did it man move to Florida teaching yoga and then it takes it from one class a week you know you come to I came down here to a new area new space with new front people I didn't even know yet and built like a brand around yoga and like creating events and doing all this stuff so it's like it's a you can do it you know it's like somebody out there right now is hearing this podcast for the first time because you couldn't have heard it before because it didn't exist but now you're hearing it and it's like oh my gosh like I'm gonna teach yoga I want to help people and like I can make it you can make it happen yeah you know definitely you can make it happen and you just have to just trust yourself and trust in the the the yoga is what is the quote what what is the quote I heard Brian kes say this on a youtube video interview he said like just practice yoga and the universe will take care of like just take care of you something along those lines I could be butchering it but that is like what I heard yeah and it is totally true right yeah and do yoga practice yoga everything else will take care of itself everything else takes care of yourself and since it's so true since that quote has come into my life I'm just like I'm just like I'm I'm with that I'm a thousand percent with that and I believe that so if you're hearing this podcast right here right now and you're like I'm not like you're not sure about something go do it just go breathe go sit somewhere and breathe or move your body do a yoga practice do something to ground yourself connect and then put go back to that thought of like I'm not sure and maybe there'll be some clarity you know maybe there'll be some so true that's great advice I was I took a you know I this just came to me right now I took a seminar from Benjamin Sears you ever heard of him I have not okay he does JP Sears definitely not JP Sears from Benjamin Sears who does uh sacred geometry vinyasa he hosts these right now he hosts these retreats in the in in France they're amazing they look incredible incredible sacred geometry just sounds like going down the rabbit hole it's like I already love this it's awesome so he was a bikram yoga guy you know and then he morphed his own thing and do his own brand and whatnot anyway I went to one of his workshops down here in south Florida at this place it was an inferno it was so fucking hot anyway um and I went to his workshop and he um he was talking about when you're caught up in the shit and you're like you're not sure what's happening and you need to uh make a decision on something big decision like what do you do he's like take take a step back you don't have to there's nothing rushed about it go do go do a practice do a practice just do a practice find some clarity and then get back in the saddle get back in the in the mix nice and you can love that and you can work through it you know so it's like for me it's like now when I'm teaching classes now when I'm going through a hard time I have that yoga foundation to go back on you know I've been teaching yoga for almost seven years now practicing for eight and a half I don't know somebody eight and a half years something like that so a decent amount of time um and yeah I just really believe that that is is so true that that yoga is there to hold space for you it is so true to find creativity to find um balance to find whatever that positive affirmation find it yourself oh man do self-study find yourself bro wow this is deep and it just came to me but I read this in the yama niyama book like debra adele or i'm probably butching her last name um we'll plug we'll find him plug we'll plug it in the show notes yeah because I want it it was it was something like uh god or whatever higher power that all the elders came up to him it was like hey where are you gonna hide yourself like this your higher power like you know your chi or whatever like where are you gonna hide this you can and they're like the elders were like you can hide this on top of the mountain and god's like hey no they're gonna find me there the people are gonna find me and then god and then elders were like hey how about deep down in the ocean and god's like no people will find me there too like and then god's like you know what i'll do i'll hide inside people they'll never find me there yeah and it's so true like you know yeah and I don't want to say this to be like religious or anything but it's like self-study is what yoga is to me you know finding myself breathing like letting stuff come in and letting it come out you know there's just so many layers and layers and layers and layers I mean what what how many years are you in your practice um like eight and a half I think it's eight and a half so like eight and a half layers of self that you've removed like and it's just gonna get better and better and better so i'm with you good stuff you know i'm with you you know and it's like like I was saying in the beginning it's like I thought I was always going to teach bikram yoga only then I did a vinyasa training again training and then I started teaching these different styles of you know classes and all these different events and festivals and all this stuff that happens along the way you know and you can't um it's like it's so easy sometimes for people you know think of it this time like the first time you went to a yoga class right I remember the I mean I can't remember the exact first time but the first few times you go there and you see somebody like who's in the physical asana like they're killing it like their poses are a rock star you know you're like well I want to do that you know it's like well that person been practicing for 10 years it's like oh shit I've been practicing like for like 10 days you know so all right like the yoga meets me where I am like here I am today so I have like I'm working towards you know sometimes it's not even working forwards working you gotta work backwards you know it's the unknowing of the shit and the stuff exactly that's practice practice practice all the all the teachers will tell you you know might not be able to do it now but practice practice you know do it in the future yeah absolutely absolutely so that's me you know it's like I'm grateful for I am now you know it led me to instagram it led me to make memes on the internet it allowed me to connect with not only you but I mean I mean I can't even thousands thousands of people around people laugh around the globe adding value to life through laughter lightness and humor within the yoga space because nobody else was doing it like the yoga community needed that and I was there to provide that for them and that I've inspired other people like um like you other pages you know other humans to make for content and then that helps the same thing like we're just trying to add value to the world you know so when it led us to this podcast that you're hearing right here right now it's like it led us here so that we can add value to people's lives in their ears you know instead of just like a meme on and there's nothing wrong with the meme on instagram but it's a different way you know of like adding value and that's all that's that's all this podcast is about yoga mindfulness gratitude humor and adding value to your life you know if you don't think this podcast is valuable to your life you don't think you're going to learn anything or get any information have a different perspective don't subscribe because that's what you know if you don't feel it you don't have to not we're not offended we're not offended but we really believe in our hearts that there's something for everyone every week that you're going to get from us to add to your bucket add to your jewel box add to something you can teach add something that you can share um totally a thousand percent believe it in my heart thousand percent you know no doubt no diggity i got a bag is it back back it up uh yeah momentology you'll need to cue that uh no diggity in there yeah copyright laws whatever we'll hit them up oh my god shout out yeah for sure man so shout out to momentality real quick before brian brian's gonna share his uh journey to yoga but a shout out to momentology momentology music is uh he's our friend and producer of this show as you heard there in the beginning he is an amazing human and my uh our personal friend my personal friend that i got to meet that i've you know he's my personal friend in person brian's actually never met him in real life uh but you know we've done one day one day one day you know him and i have done some gigs together he's an amazing music producer and dj in the yoga space and he has some of the best uh music for yoga classes i literally play his classes or play his classes i literally play his music in i i'm pretty sure like all of my classes at least one song if not the whole playlist so he is incredible and uh definitely check him out he'll be in the show notes he'll be all over this podcast you will definitely learn to love him as we do uh for helping make this show uh possible each and every week so yes definitely a great add to the yoga class playlist or your meditation practice totally list at home totally totally right okay brian so give him the business how did you find yoga and how has it changed your life so i found yoga gosh i i had like planner's foot like planner's fasciitis and i was weighed like 236 pounds and i remember i found like i i don't like running i don't really like working out like i'm one of those people i'm a fast starter like i'll go you know lift a crap load of weights and i'll be sore and then i'll not touch a weight until you know the next year i'm that type person where i'm like all right it's january like new me like new year new me like let's do it then i'll freaking be so sore like nope not doing this and i and i don't like running so i'm like i need to find something so i found a rodney ye am yoga dvd this was like i can't even remember what year this might have been like 2010 or 11.
I was like right around my son was born okay so get this rodney am yoga dvd i think i have that by the way and i loved it because i could wake up and do it i can do it on my back i didn't have to like get up or anything stand yeah i want to stand oh my god and it is 20 minutes long so i'm like i can do this 20 minutes of laying on my back yeah yeah especially waking up doing this rolling over yeah just gotta start just gotta start so i was doing this and and you know you don't really feel like you're working out but after like a month and a half i was feeling calmer like less anxiety i was losing a little bit of weight my planner's foot was a lot better so i saw a lot of benefits and then i just didn't really stick to it like i just you know life gets crazy i had a newborn baby at the time and then i tried out kundalini yoga and that was some trippy shit bro were you lit i was it was just i was getting like high on yoga pretty much yeah like i was having out of the body like yogic whatever experiences like i was really feeling chakra action going on and it was just a lot of breathing but it wasn't really like a an exercise yeah but there's something about yoga just kept drawing me to this practice you know i i think i like yearned the self study and the spiritual aspect of yoga like i yearned it but i just was like dabbling so i would do kundalini yoga and i still try and do that every every so often and then i tried bikram yoga you did summer in phoenix that was a mistake and i had long hair i was like kind of heavy and fully tatted chest back you know arms tattooed and i remember going to class and i'd have like it'd be a packed class right and i'd have like a seven foot radius of open clear space like these women were like cramped up in the corner and i have like all this space like there's maybe like one or two other dudes like at that whole studio yeah maybe so i just felt a little out of place and it was really fucking hot and you know i'm a fast starter right so i'm like maybe i'll do two classes a day you did not don't tell me you went twice so so this was my last time doing bikram at that time i did a bikram class in the morning and this is like july i went and played golf in like a hundred and fucking 15 degree weather and then i came back and did bikram wow another like hot class and then you were putting they retired that retired yeah i was i almost died that retired that was the last time i just yeah i stopped doing that wow then fast forward this was probably like 2012 yeah 2012 i went looked at like my emails to see when when to see when when i went there so 2012 and then 2016 i was walking on the treadmill this was like january 2016 okay you know the new me new year fast starter at the gym again getting sore getting sore been at the gym since october 2015 like and i was just going to sauna you know oh my god i'm on the treadmill and i used to have like other funny like i used to do a funny snapchat but it's just for my friends and like funny like instagram posts i had this like mustache strong thing going on where i had like a mustache in a certain period of my life and one of my buddies is like hey you got like some good material like you should figure something out and use this like talent that you have of writing and making content and do something with it right so i remember being on the treadmill and i was like holy shit namaste af namaste as fuck what i remember thinking about it because like the day before i just saw one of my friends on instagram doing a yoga challenge okay and she was doing yoga on her kitchen table like yoga on her bed yoga in the most random places like for a challenge for her studio and i was like this is so ridiculous like why do people do this shit why are you doing yoga on your kitchen table yeah she's doing like you know you could toss it oh yeah an extra mashed potatoes so yeah right then namaste af i'm like so i created an instagram that day i went home and i did a chair pose on top of the bunk bed and i was like you know chair pose elevating my practice because i was on the second boat so you're making fun you're poking fun yes yeah yeah you know make a short story i'm making a short story long to make a long story short is anybody listening to make fun of yoga is anybody listening right now is anybody out there are you sleeping are you at the stop light and you need to wake the fuck up like next next episode i will hypnotize you to sleep no anyway yeah make fun of yoga and the page became popular and it was just me like doing stupid like yoga poses in random places like captions like you know funny captions i get like i think 2 000 followers it's pretty good 2 000 followers within like a couple weeks nice i'm just a lot of likes on the picture i'm like i think i got something here so then i was asked to do a yoga challenge and i have no clue what i'm doing right i have no clue about yoga what i'm doing so i asked a yoga instructor that was following me on instagram like hey can you help me like do this yoga challenge like she ended up helping me we did a 10-day yoga challenge it was successful it was fun and i was like i better go to a studio and practice yoga went to a studio which vied with me two weeks later after practicing i paid in full their yoga teacher training which started in like you know six months after that attaboy fast starter attaboy yeah fast starter and you know i wanted to quit like right after i did that shit i was like oh man i just dropped like 1800 is that like a discount deal but can i get it back though yeah yeah and uh like the first part of this yoga teacher training was like just the mod it was they added in three modules so the first module is like you just go to class and you journal about the class that you did oh wow so that was fun for me i was just going to yoga classes and journaling about it you're like i could do this i could do that i could yeah i could do this and then the mod 2 came and that was more of like the philosophy it was really good and then just practice teach them mod 3 was practice mod 3 was practice 3 was practice teaching yeah okay and before i even and it was just like a natural progression it was like one of those things where like yoga took my ass like i really like just how that quote is do yoga and the universe will take care of you or take care of everything else that's really what happened to me i just well i started making fun of yoga i started doing yoga on instagram i joined a studio started doing yoga there got deep into the practice and then i was like asked to teach at freaking poolside yoga on a rooftop with like over a hundred people before i was even graduating that's a lot of people a lot of people a lot of uh nights that i was freaking out that's awesome man that's awesome and it evolved man you know and then like you know so you do that and then you start teaching class like just like you know once you got your certificate you you know once you graduate you start teaching you know so many people like they graduate super nervous you know like how am i gonna do it how am i gonna get up there is anybody gonna like what if i screw up like all this self you know that's right a lot of you know and not everyone experiences the self-doubt you know not everyone experiences that i'm fortunate enough that i i didn't like i just i'd i practiced my ass off and i worked really hard and i just i had and bikram was a script you know so it was like just yeah so like that helps memorize the script and like memorize 90 minutes of script okay like i just practiced it like for six months and then i had to worry about it anymore you know and i like public speaking so it was easy for me but um yeah there's definitely people where it's it's not yeah well well they say the top fear is number one is death and number two is public speaking that's the top two fears of people that's so crazy to me it's just i mean but it is i know i know it is for so many you know and a lot of us yogis like have like mental things going on i mean we're we're all kind of crazy that we get into yoga and we're normally coming into it because of a trauma or because like stress relief or because of like anxiety yeah yeah change change right shift the shift you know it's like like yeah i know definitely there's that meme out there that's i think a lot of people think i wrote the meme but i actually did not write the meme i just shared it and it went viral and it was uh it's funny how everybody thinks yoga people are so calm and then it just said it just and then it said like um we're actually all here because we're nuts right and um and that's all it's all it says it's just like a white we call it the whiteboard like a whiteboard meme you know with just like words on it just text no picture and uh like that meme is definitely viral content i didn't make it i shared it and i mean it's everywhere i mean i've seen it so many times i see it i see like every month at least once someone tags me in it i'm like oh thanks all the time so i mean that's how like yoga has helped me uh in my life is like get it together share my light get me my purpose you know it's like maybe that was my purpose the whole time i just didn't know and then i figured it out through practicing yoga that i was like okay so i'm practicing yoga i'm feeling good about it like wait yoga is the yoga is the purpose you know to share the gift exactly you know my mantra uh my purpose share the gift of yoga with the world and uh yoga doesn't mean just physical asana practice you know like this right now is yoga if you're focusing in on the words um you know i'm 100 present in this podcast right here right now so if you're tuning in and in full awareness like that's yoga um listening exactly you know just listening you know just paying attention breathing you know conscious breathing coming back to the breath man you know and that's that's something that's really important for me is like uh that the bikram yoga that i did the first initially not so breath was like not like we're not talking about the breath during practice like there wasn't really talk about that and the second lineage i learned was like kripalu vinyasa yoga a lot of focus on depth breath and different pranayama techniques so i learned a lot of different techniques and um really cool like a whole like 30 minute pranayama practice like with different exercise breathing exercises and um i really enjoyed it like it was way different than i ever i didn't know that existed you know i didn't even know that existed so right like starting yoga you don't realize pranayama and you're no clue gonna come back to the breath like that's one of the biggest things that i never thought i would discover in yoga practice and that's one of the most important things that i come back to is the breath yeah i think the most important yeah the most important the the most like because you can be off your mat and i'm sure you've used this several times where you know kids are stressing you out or you're in traffic and you can just come back to that mindful you know belly breathing into the chest you know just in and out and you're calm exactly i i was just listening to your body mind body connection man i was just listening to a podcast with jay shetty and jim quick and jay shetty was talking about how he always comes back to his breath and his breathing and he's like i just do a count of four in and a count of four out you know like like as simple as just and he visualizes one two three four and then visualizes out you know one two three four and so i just i i heard like it's so funny when you hear something one time and i saw it you know it's like a three minute clip i watched it on instagram tv igtv i watch it and i'm like like oh my god that stuck with me like i only i only saw that one time and like i practiced it you know i thought i saw like a week ago and i've tried it quite a few times since then and he's like i do it all the time before i have to speak that's so good before i'd make a decision before i'm if i'm just lost in thought if i'm just walking i just like walking and visualize one two three four in and one two three four out and if i just can come to that moment where i'm present with that breath on the four in and the four out if i can just do that everything settles everything settles down so if you listening out there are need a moment or need a couple you know a breath try that try that one two three four in and one two three four out equal length inhale and exhale see what it's like you know see if that works for you try right now while you're sitting wherever you're listening to it try it right now yeah and see two three four four three two one simple as that simple man simple simple man so simple uno dos tres cuatro i mean you speak spanish pedro roll tacos rolled tacos somebody say roll stew stew for count in spanish pedro please uno dos tres cuatro cuatro tres dos uno man i'm so much calmer you know but the reality i'm gonna start counting in spanish i get my meditation but that's the reality you know if you can come back to your breath if you can use that technique if you can come back to the moment man that's gonna go a long long way you know yes that's yes that's where it's happening so that's the bad that's definitely part of what we wanted to add to you uh add to your jewel box for this evening is that you know if you can take that with you and out into the world that's the uh that's the major key yeah the breath it is so important i i looked up something about how many breaths that you take per day and it's something like 20 000 breaths that you take per day like that's a lot like i can't even fathom that right i mean that's a lot of breaths could you imagine having to think about that like if you didn't have the autonomic nervous system that just did it for you right if you had to actually consciously think about every single one of those like oh my god like that's all you would do you know just stay alive just imagine that guy's job that had to research that like yeah like okay 10 breaths all right we gotta start over right no let's start what's he doing like a clicker probably like yeah 20 000 clickers per that's a that's a lot of breaths it's like about too like there's this tich not han quote um it says like one conscious inhale and one conscious exhale linked together is a meditation in its own right you don't have to sit for 30 minutes 40 minutes whatever to do a meditation everything can be a meditation the way you eat the way you walk the way you um breathe you know all all of it is a meditation in its own right it's perception you know the perception becomes your reality like how mindful of you how mine excuse me how mindful are you in whatever you are you that you're doing so true you know so that's where the the breath man so going back to the breath back to the moment back to the breath back to the moment you know can you do that on repeat can you be here now is the question it's so on point and it just starts with one breath here but like you said meditation it's it's so easy it's so easy nowadays to not be here to be lost in your phone and you can be lost in your phone from when you open your eyes that's how scary it is that you cannot be here the entire day till you close your eyes again that happens that's happening all over the place you know so and that's why it's so like just what jay said it's so important just to come back to the four count four in four out four out if you can do that one time per day yes right that's a good day you're on the track on the path you know and that's the thing about that's the thing about yoga too and just yoga meditation mindfulness it is a process it is a practice you know just just like how i was saying i'm a fast starter what i like to do is like oh i'm gonna i'm gonna meditate let me try and meditate for four hours today and then i can't like and then i can't even do like two minutes and i'm like i can't meditate i i'm not doing this anymore it's yeah baby steps hey i'm gonna meditate for two minutes today or a minute yep just one breath and celebrate them and celebrate those small wins yes just like we're celebrating the first
