Find a comfortable seat,

Either on a chair or upright on the floor.

If you're on a chair,

Plant your feet firmly into the earth.

Elongate your spine,

Allowing it to become erect,

But not stiff.

Roll your shoulders down your back,

And soften your navel.

Look directly in front of you.

Rather than closing your eyes right away,

We will ease into the meditation.

Find a gaze point,

Or what is known in the ancient language of Sanskrit as Drishti,

A focal point straight out in front of you that you can give intense focus.

Then without moving your head,

Notice everything to the right of you.

And now the left.

And again,

Without moving the head,

Notice above you.

And then below.

Now close your eyes,

Or simply look downward if closing them isn't right for you.

The point is to go internal,

To close off the outside world.

Then begin to bring awareness to your breath.

First,

Without any agenda to change it,

Just notice where it is right now,

Today,

In this present moment.

Your breath is your gateway to the present moment,

And also to your innate creativity.

Notice its sensation in your body.

What does the breath feel like to enter in and out of your body?

And then begin to elongate the breath.

With your mouth closed,

Begin breathing in for three counts,

And out for three counts.

Inhale one,

Two,

Three,

And exhale one,

Two,

Three.

Continue to watch your breath.

Inhale one,

Two,

Three,

Even as I continue speaking,

Exhale one,

Two,

Three.

You can use this breath,

Inhale one,

Two,

Three,

As your internal anchor.

Exhale one,

Two,

Three.

The mere act of observing the breath brings energetic clarity to your creative work.

Inhale one,

Two,

Three,

Exhale one,

Two,

Three.

You'll continue that silently in your head.

One,

Exhale one.

If your mind starts to wander,

As it is trained to do,

Gently draw the attention back to the breath without any judgment.

You are inherently creative and productive.

You have the talent,

The wisdom,

And the knowledge within you.

By tapping into your highest self,

You are tapping into our collective unconsciousness and to our universal truths.

This profoundly will shift your creativity and your life.

As you continue to breathe,

Bring your attention to the crown of your head and start scanning the body.

Notice any areas of tension in your head,

On your face,

Your neck,

And shoulders.

Can you soften?

Can you breathe a little deeper into any area of strain?

Then allow the heart area to soften,

The rib cage to fall inward,

The stomach to relax.

Scan all the way down your arms to the hands and fingers.

Then do the same from the hips down the legs to your feet and then toes.

Let the entire body feel very heavy.

Let the earth support you.

You are supported by the universe.

Come back to conscious observation of your breath,

Your life force.

Notice how it might feel slightly different now.

Again,

Feel the sensations in your body.

Allow the body to be a conduit to your creative soul.

Let the body,

The shell of your originality,

Be a fully present partner in a harmonic dance with breath,

Your creativity,

And the depths of your soul.

And then when you're ready,

But taking all the time you need,

Perhaps wiggle fingers and toes,

And take the state of openness and clarity with you as you open your eyes and take in the room.
