Hello and welcome.
I'm April from The Moon is My Calendar and this is a meditation for drawing inward and settling the nervous system to find a sense of inner calm supported by the cyclical nature of life and the moon.
Begin by noticing all the ways you are currently being held.
The body being held and supported by the earth.
The spirit being housed and supported in the body.
We are all held within the lunar cycle.
A continuous unfolding of time through the expansion and the contraction of the phases from new to full to empty again.
Bringing your awareness to the breath,
Begin to notice the way it waxes and wanes just like the moon.
Opening up and expanding and then letting go and releasing.
At each new moon the Sun and the moon are in union.
Yoga.
In yogic anatomy,
The right side of the body is the solar side and the left side is the lunar side.
Imagining the right side of the body,
The solar side,
Glowing with light,
Radiating with brilliance,
Lit up and illuminating in all directions and now imagining the lunar side,
The left side,
Receiving this light,
Replenishing and renewing through being in union.
Cooling down the heat of the Sun in to nectar.
From here,
If you like,
Bringing the palms of the hands together,
The right,
The Sun,
The left,
The moon,
Together in union.
The palms connecting effortlessly at the heart,
Attuning to your pulse,
Breath and circulation.
Drawing in the breath,
Expanding in all directions and releasing outward in communion with all of life.
Through the breath,
We connect.
Slowing down to deeply listen.
Listening to the whispers of the intuition.
The new moon offers a time to reset and bring awareness to the inner cave.
That hidden place where the moon goes each cycle and is no longer available or visible to the outer world.
Drawing inward and finding stillness,
Releasing outward and entering deeper into the cave.
Feeling the rhythm of the heart,
The rising and falling of the breath,
Like the ebb and the flow of the tides.
From here,
Perhaps rocking or swaying back and forth as if being rocked in the cradle of the moon.
Gently yielding to the waves,
Allowing the thoughts to settle,
Allowing the nervous system to settle.
Knowing you are held,
You are supported,
You are connected.
Inhaling deeply,
Welcoming in the breath and exhaling fully and completely letting go.
On the new moon,
We're invited to surrender.
Surrender needing to do or be anything else except experience our essence in union with source.
This union of body and spirit.
This union of breath and nature.
Perhaps asking yourself,
What do you want to be in union with?
What is the ember that is glowing in this cave?
As you draw inward?
What is your guiding light,
Your North Star that inspires you to flow out into the world once again?
Once you've received the nourishment and renewal from the new moon,
Flowing outward,
Drawing inward and flowing outward again.
Being guided by the moon to find a sense of renewal and inner calm.
When you're ready,
Imagining and gathering the seeds that want to be planted and grown in your life,
This cycle,
Perhaps bringing them to your heart.
Bowing in gratitude for what is yet to be.
Asking the moon to help you trust the unfolding and show you the signs of all the ways that life is conspiring in your favor.
Drawing inward and flowing outward over and over again.
Thank you for being here.
May all love surround you.
