This meditation will guide you through moments of not knowing.
They always happen every now and then.
And this practice will help you to come to peace with this state of mind.
And maybe even open up to a space of freedom.
So let's begin.
Let your body come to a position that is both restful and awake.
Give yourself some time to settle in.
And listen to the signals of your body that tells you what it needs to feel a little bit more comfortable.
And while you come to rest,
Allow your own mind to be in this present moment as well.
Let go of everything that your mind was busy with before you started this practice.
There is nothing to do right now for you.
There is nothing to solve.
And there is nothing to take care of.
Only being right here,
Right now.
And feel your body touching the surface that it is resting on.
Your seat,
Your cushion,
Or the ground.
And with each breath,
Let yourself be grounded in this moment a little bit more.
And feel this in your body.
Being grounded right here with your body and with your mind.
And now I invite you to let an issue emerge for you that makes you feel,
I don't know.
Maybe it is you don't know what to do in a certain situation.
Or you don't know what to think of a certain issue.
Whatever it is,
Let it come to you.
You don't have to search for it.
We all have issues like that.
Some are big,
Some are small.
Let it come to you and let your mind rest on one of them.
And gently hold this situation or this topic in your awareness.
Don't get sucked into it.
Just look at it from a safe distance.
And now notice the thoughts that come up when you do that.
What does your mind tell you about this?
Just notice these thoughts.
Let them visit your awareness and then let them go.
Your thoughts are like clouds here.
They show up,
Drift off and dissolve in the sky.
And while you do this,
Keep breathing with your body.
Rest in this moment right here.
And you might feel that your thoughts are getting calmer.
Maybe they are even speeding up.
Just stay with them,
Whatever they are doing.
And also be curious what not knowing looks for you right now.
It could be that there are too many conflicting thoughts and ideas going on at this moment.
Or maybe it is the opposite,
That you don't have any thoughts or ideas at all.
Just become aware of what your version of I don't know is right now.
And next I invite you to focus on your emotions now.
Notice what feelings are present.
Be gentle and curious about your own emotional experience right now.
It could be you are worried.
It could be you are scared.
Maybe there is anger.
Whatever it is,
Where do you feel these emotions in your body?
Rest your awareness on these places and breathe with them.
Gently and calm.
And also notice how the feelings change while you are with them.
They might develop into something else while you hold them kindly.
And also take the time to explore the quality of your emotions.
Are they more active and energizing?
Or are they more passive and stopping you?
All is okay.
Just be open to the sense of the quality of your own emotions right now.
You experience these emotions.
You are not these emotions.
So therefore allow yourself to observe them with kindness and with an open heart.
And rest in your body while you do that.
And breathe with your experience.
And now open up your senses to any feeling of calm that emerges within you.
And let this calm presence expand.
Feel it in your body and let it grow.
Open up your awareness for that feeling of space that is expanding in your heart and in your mind.
And maybe you can also feel a sense of possibilities and freedom that comes up.
Or maybe you just enjoy the restfulness.
Breathe with this sensation.
And let your breath connect with it.
Feel the space in your heart and mind.
And open up to the sensation of freedom that comes with that.
We will come to the end of our meditation soon.
So please become aware of any sounds that are happening around you.
Let them gently come closer to you.
And while you do that,
Open up your awareness for the room that you are in.
Get a sense for the space that you are in right now.
And when you are ready,
At your own pace,
Take one final conscious breath.
And open up your eyes while you exhale.
